  1. Yeah good feedback. I'm still a little uncertain about using it offensively, more of a situational, "oh hey, I think I might be able to pull off something magnificent with devour here..." rather than a solid attacking tactic. Sort of something to keep in the back of your mind. Defensively though, its a gem. Push out, para, eat. Works especially well with Rasp's defensive trigger. Against especially high targets, (Lady J) you might even consider taking the hit, ending her activation then going chow time on her. That'll give her something to consider next time... So what about shatter? Don't often see that getting used. It often gets overlooked in favour of other upgrades. I'm a compulsory shattered mirror kind of guy myself. I... find it hard to live without overpower. I'm addicted. I play against ressers mostly so it's not about going BOOM and spreading the love around because of hard to wound, its more about repetitively getting 3...3...3...3 damage at a time with a winter's bite. Occasionally you get lucky and get a moderate. I do miss that essence of power...
  2. Ok so I've been thinking about it. Eating with the wendigo or kitties. It seems clunky and activation heavy to me. Could someone spell it out for me? I see problems. 1. It takes 3 activations to do. Golem to throw, Rasp to freeze, wendigo to bite. For one kill. 2. Wendigo isn't hard to kill and everyone sees it coming. If they don't, they fall for it once then never again. Between the wendigo being thrown and rasp activating, the wendigo can easily be killed. 3. 6" range. So what does rasp's turn look like? Move move cast? That brings her awfully close for my liking. Cast through the golem? That means that the wendigo/cats and golem had to be sticking in formation all the way up to 6" away from the target. Or is there a fourth activation of getting a good ice mirror minion into position? I love the idea it just seems impractical and highly situational. When is it better than just spamming december's curse? I'm not being glib, I seriously want to know if someone can walk me through it and gives me the benefits coz I don't see many.
  3. Damn... I reiterate. I hate lure. :Sad_Puppet2:
  4. Right, so just to tie this up, a Belle's Lure is a push in their direction equal to your wk stat right? I have been WAY too accommodating to my opponents. I have been taking the path of least resistance to the Belle when I simply could've whacked the potential target behind something, anything! I hate lure! Oh Rasputina what have I been doing to you all these games?
  5. I wouldn't expect to lose the suit. It's a good question though because when you look at the ability it's a pretty defined statement "This model is Df6..." I don't think the intention was to have the model lose the suit associated with their innate Df but a ruling on this could go the other way quite easily. If I were to make a snap judgement I'd say play it so that your defense doesn't lose any associated suits as I feel that is how it's meant to be played. The vast majority of opponents probably wouldn't question such a decision unless the possible implications of the wording were pointed out to them.
  6. Hmm interesting. I was playing the other day and I triggered drag with a December Acolyte. There was an intervening Ht1 piece of hard cover in between the acolyte and the target. Does that mean the drag would hit the cover, expend 1" being dragged up the cover, then drop down for no extra movement and then continue the drag from there or simply stop when it hit the cover in the first place.? It isn't impassable so I'm feeling the former here.
  7. As long as at every point during that push the model is moving away from you then it is legal. You are not obligated to pick a direction that isn't obstructed. So yes you could just push straight into an impassable object and stop there. Also be clear on whether it says "push 3" away" or "push up to 3" away". One gives you an option on the distance up to a maximum of 3", the other must be 3" (unless obstructed which is the case in your scenario)
  8. What's the exact wording of "Impossible to wound"? I'm thinking hard and impossible to wound would both come into effect in this case though. I don't see why they wouldn't unless impossible to wound had some special wording.
  9. Yeah I tend to agree otherwise it's a bollocks ability with only highly situational use. My problem comes from the overly wordy explanation that confuses the matter rather than clarifying it. This is part of what needed to be better in M2E. You don't want to be errata-ing stuff straight off the bat after your restart. Too much of this stuff over time and you'll end up restarting the restart. The ability could easily have been cut to: "Until the start of this model's next activation, the area 4" around this model counts as soft cover"
  10. Howard Langston's steam cloud ability states: "Until the start of this model's next activation, the area 4" around this model counts as soft cover terrain for the purposes of drawing line of sight" That's quite specific. Compare to Snowstorm's Middle of the Storm ability: "The area 2" around this model is considered soft cover" So does this mean that steam cloud doesn't give soft cover to those within it but rather just blocks line of sight to models beyond the area? It seems to mean that, which makes it a less than awesome ability. Someone care to shed some light?
  11. Cheers guys, I had never played against this person before and didn't want to come off as 'that guy' so I let it slide. Good to know for sure (at least by some kind of consensus on an internet forum)
  12. So I was playing a game the other day as you do and I was sweeping the board with December's Curse when I positive flipped my way into a black joker on damage. Unfazed I realized it would be counted red since I forked out extra points for December's Pawn. My opponent then claimed that December's Pawn wasn't valid in such a situation since it's not being USED by Rasputina but rather only the damage flip off one of her spells. I didn't fight too much at the time since I would've just added extra damage to the poor ice golem I was directing the blasts off but... Surely not? Surely this ability doesn't just give you the black as a red when using it strictly for duels? Damage associated with actions directly caused by Rasputina would fall under December's Pawn's effect... right? Help a brother out.
