I didn't listen to the podcasts, but is it guaranteed that there will be new models for everything at this point? I thought it was just new stat cards?

McMourning with the Guild sounds awesome.

It will make me wait before jumping into Malifaux. No sense getting in right before a big change. I hope it makes Dr. McMourning even cooler, because I intend on getting his crew when I do buy in.

This may change my plan, as I was originally going to go with McMourning vs Freikorps. Now I will consider Lady J. Maybe both, haha.

Since McMourning does rely moreso on corpse counters, does he still perform will against Lady J? I really like the look of the executioner, and would like a crew with him, but like I said, the anti-undead thing had me hesitant.

Another noob here, but isn't Lady J (and her crew) specialized against undead? If you're only going to be playing the same two crews against each other everytime, it may get frustrating for the Resurrectionist to be facing a crew that is specialized to defeat him, every time. It was among the top reasons I don't think I'll go with Lady J's crew (as my second) when I knew I wanted Dr. McMourning as my primary crew.

Thanks for all the comments guys, it is appreciated. The reason I am staying away from the Box set figures (and Sebastian) is because I figure I will eventually purchase it to expand on my options, and won't want duplicates. Due to comments I am thinking of not taking Rafkin, and will perhaps look into a set of Belles or Hanged perhaps. I like the look of Guild Autopsies (and the fact that they are ranged) but they tend to get rather negative reviews as well.

Dr. McMourning (Alternate) Zombie Chihuahua Canine Remains x 3 Bette Noir Rafkin That would be 30 soulstones, but I'll also grab a Flesh Contruct II and/or Rogue Necromancy in hopes of bringing it in during the round. I realize this probably isn't a tournament winning round, but I think it would be fun enough for casual play? Also worth noting that I am purposefully avoiding getting anything that comes in the Body Thieves box set, so that's why I went with Rafkin instead of Sebastion. I think he still works with McM?

Yeah, I know the crew taken can be what makes the difference, but I'm glad that at a glance you think they would be good starters. There is so much in the Ressurrectionists that will be fun to expand on, so I think I'm going with them for sure. Thanks for your reply. Hi all, I'm brand new to the forums, and don't own anything Malifaux related (yet). I am looking to set up a couple of crews. In all honesty, I will likely need to provide everything for two players if I ever want to play the game, so that is what I am tackling. So the question I have, is what two crews could face off repeatedly without one side being overly dominant? The crews I am most interested in are the Ressurrectionists under Dr. McMourning (though I've done enough research to know that the starter box set is not the best purchase for this crew, instead leaning towards canines instead of nurses), and the Freikorps. Would these crews fair well against each other? The appeal to me the most aesthetically, but that is not as important if one will constantly crush the other. Thanks for any responses.
