  1. "Your Mine - This action may only be taken after this model performs a strike action targeting... receives + to melee attack and damage flips..." Assuming this doesn't apply to the initial strike, right... just those that follow?
  2. As a new player to Malifaux, I find the lack of a glossary, the index and organization of the 1.5 book very frustrating. Other than that, I find the rules to be a bit more complex than I was originally expecting, but not too bad. I also started with Yan Lo, so that was probably a bad choice for a starting master.
  3. Wowza!!! Didn't realize that it was possible to still trigger on a failed attack. Bonus!
  4. I'm pretty sure the trigger states that it can only be triggered once per activation.
  5. Anyone have any input into this? I always (in my short time playing this game) figured that you had to win whatever duel you were in (or meet casting requirements) order to get any triggers off.
  6. If you buy the Ten Thunders Archers kit... well, all I can say is good luck. Lost 1 arrow removing it from the sprue with clippers. Most of the other arrows snapped in half. Basically I have a bunch of ruined archers. Very annoying.
  7. 13th, that was the way I had been interpreting it as well. Essentially, you specify an endpoint outside of 3" from the ashigaru and then the target model moves the shortest distance possible to that route. Add to the fact that "directly" has it's own entry under the push section, and it seems that this would be true. However, I have a whole 3 games worth of experience under my belt, so I want to make sure I am interpreting things correctly. I have been playing it the way Csonti suggested, because I wasn't sure. So, I think I may have been cheating myself a bit.
  8. The Wall of Steel rule for Ashigaru states that when the attack hits, the target "is pushed until it is 3" away from the Ashigaru and their action ends." Does this mean I can push the target to ANYWHERE that's just outside the the 3" bubble? Meaning, I get charged, hit the target with wall of steel, then push them to the opposite side of the Ashigaru where perhaps something nastier waits, or perhaps where there are no targets.
  9. OK, good to know - thanks. I will try and observe a game if I can. In terms of game length, I'm guessing that Karai tends to have longer games due to the high model count? I played another game against Seamus and that seemed to go much quicker.
  10. I logged on last night and I saw Ryu's name. I couldn't tell if there was an actual game going on, or if he was just logged in like me.
  11. Longer scares me. This past weekend I played a 25ss game (Kirai vs. Yan Lo) that lasted like 5 hours (including set up). Granted, it was only our second game, but we definitely need to look for ways to speed things up, not slow them down, lol.
  12. OK. I was going to try and do it on my ipad (via remote desktop) but it sounds like that would be difficult without skype or ventrillo
  13. So, I downloaded vassal and installed everything. I started a fake game to try and get a handle on the controls. I guess where my problem is, is understanding how the game is supposed to flow. Do you write messages saying "activating Yan Lo. Move 8 inches, use zero power..." then when your activation is over, you just notify the person you are done? How smooth do games go? I was trying to figure out how to observe an online game last night, but I couldn't figure out how to do it.
  14. I have broken the Ten Thunders archers like crazy. Their arrows are stupid thin. I'm super-****ed at the frailty of those models. I also broke Yan Lo's staff, but I was able to fix that by replacing the whole thing with a paper clip.
  15. Ok thanks. I didn't realize that object also had the 1 wound minimum as well.
  16. I did a search and didn't find the answer to this: Do the "Hard but Brittle" and "Object 1" rules stack and therefore essentially mean that weapons doing 3 or less on weak damage = 0 damage to the Ashigaru? The way I read it, HbB reduces weak damage of 1,2 or 3 down to one wound and then Object 1 reduces the last wound down to zero. Is this correct?
  17. My local gaming store was out of stock for a while, but just got some in on Tuesday. I think they had like 5 copies and sold out that day. I think Wyrd just started pushing more copies out.
  18. Hey, if you want to make a bit of a hike (on a weekend or whenever you have some free time), come over to Dropzone games in Glen Burnie. They have Malifaux going on almost every day/night. They specialize in Miniature games, and that's where I discovered the game. It seems to be growing popularity very quickly.
  19. I dropped yan lo's goatee into my work tray with thousands of bits of resin and plastic shavings. Found it a day later after a couple of hours of digging... was able to glue it back in though. Whoever's idea it was to make that a separate bit... well, they need help.
  20. Ah, OK. I didn't notice it in the book, but maybe it's on his card? I'll check when I get home.
  21. I am new to the game - just picked up the Yan Lo box set and Book 4. The actual rulebook seems to be out of stock, so I don't have access to all the rules (apologies in advance). I don't have Book 4 in front of me, but the power that lets him regenerate an ancestor(rebuild corpse or something like that) requires a relic and corpse counters, correct? If this is correct, where is Yan Lo getting corpse counters to use this ability? It is my understanding that corpse counters are only left behind if someone with the "grave robber" ability is in play. Looking at his main clan, it doesn't look like anyone has that ability. Do I need to add graverobbers from the main resurrectionists line in order to use this spell, or am I missing something? Thanks!!!
