  1. Thanks again for taking this on, Franchute! I have a model or two, and a metric ton of terrain ready to go. Will get some photos taken of them this weekend so I'm ready to pledge. Some of the terrain will be challenging to assign values to before it is assembled (e.g., the spider factory chemical tanks below), but maybe I can figure out a rough dimension and go from there. Have a great weekend, fellow challenge painters!
  2. Work in progress photographs of my December models for the challenge, Aionus and two Tengu. Have the base colors down so far. Happy holidays everyone.
  3. It's been fun for me as well, Soylent! You gals and guys have been awesome. I know we will be in good hands next year with our very own Franchute taking over.
  4. @Franchute Looks like I am am the only Minion-level pledger so far. With terrain counting this year, you can bump me up to Henchman level. I used the link to the tracking sheet and it works, and I was able to view but not edit, so it looks like you've got it working! I am happy with any SS amount allocated to terrain. I see the point about painting, versus building from scratch. Either is fine with me. Cheers.
  5. Very interesting, Franchute. If we can figure out a way to include terrain for Malifaux, then I am going to join in again. I expect to be painting each month at the minion level plus some terrain, so I will wait to see how the terrain SS rules work out, and then decide upon a level. Thanks for taking this on!
  6. Hello monthly challenge painters! For this final month of the 2017 challenge I am going to paint Aionus and 2 Tengu. I have also started working on some terrain bits for the clockwork spider factory board I have planned out in my head. This will become a priority soon, right after I build a 6' x 3' X-Wing trench run board for an event in a couple weeks. Then, back to Malifaux! We are down to approximately 1/4 of the painters that started this journey. The few, the brave, the strong. It has been a blast, guys and gals. I am happy to announce that one of you brave souls has agreed to run this painting challenge next year---our very own Franchute! Okay, to the painting table!
  7. @Chou : I agree with Franchute! Send over a SS total for these and I will add to your monthly total. If you held the tournament closer, say, eastern North America, I would travel to it for a chance to win these!
  8. It's the final month of the 2017 painting challenge! What is this?: This is a friendly painting community, not a competition. Remember that this is a fan-based thing only, and is not sponsored or approved by Wyrd in any way (i.e., screw-ups are on me, not them.). Rules: Models count for the month in which you finish them. Everyone may fail to make their monthly goal twice and stay in the challenge, but that means it is now too late to sign up this year. Tracking sheet: can be found at: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1fUeZczizoFoMjwVDcJVpJtYkKiRvTOf5HpniRHrmijU/edit?usp=sharing Posting: At the START of the month: post a photo of your unpainted minis and any plans for them you have. In the MIDDLE of the month: post work in progress photos if you want, or just banter about ideas. At the END of the month: post your finished models and the Soul Stone Cost painted, and I will get this on the tracking sheet. Post this by the end of the month. And include the total soul stones painted. Great stamina shown by Wyrd painters this year---way to hang in there! Around the corner and into the home stretch, and ... ... Go!
  9. Here are my three finished models for November (19 SS). The colors really washed out in the photo again, especially the flames around Carlos. I don't know what I am doing wrong, but I am using a cheap automatic camera, so that may be the first thing to fix. I will try to photograph again sometime, this time using the flash. The Komainu are really cool, but there are so many details that I had trouble using enough contrast to make the different parts show up, but still maintain a consistent color scheme. I like the model though. One month to go!
  10. Beautiful work, Viruk. Best painted wings I have seen lately. The texture really looks great.
  11. Summoners are everywhere these days! Congrats @Viruk.
  12. Thanks @G3ck0___. Good information on the strength -- weight trade-off. I will post here once I try something. @Butch I am building a strong board with a hardwood frame, so duct tape will not, ..., fit the aesthetic. Thanks for the idea, though.
  13. @Franchute Congratulations, and good luck tomorrow!
