  1. I just bought him because I read his fluff and I "needed" to buy a new model.

I just want to verify though, he can run with Yan Lo if Yan Lo is running as Ten Thunders, correct?

And if he does run with Yan Lo (which I pray he does or I am throwing the model away/giving it to some random gamer), does he count as a 10T model?

  2. Does anyone else have an insane itch to play solely 10T models? IE Misaki, archers, torakage, etc...

I own every main faction in Warmachine and Hordes (Pigs and Gators are the only factions I don't own a few hundred points in) but I am a Skorne player in Warmahordes first and foremost. With my lists, I don't run mercs or minions. Only Skorne. I don't care how much those models help my lists, I play Pureblood and I do very well. (this is relevant to the conversation, I swear)

I got back into Malifaux (was out for a few years, I still have the first rulebook and the initial Lady Justice solo model before she had a crew) and 10T caught my eye.

I bought the models I mentioned earlier and then began to notice all these dual faction masters and models. IE MeiFang is 10T and something else (arcanists I believe).

This makes me sad. I always take pride in sticking solely to my one faction (as far as the list goes) and now it seems to put me at an extreme handicap against other lists that are taking the best of two factions for perfect synergy. I am still winning most of my games with Misaki and her people but I can't deny the great things such as 10T Brothers (mercs) and Ronin and anything else I could use with Misaki. Then Yan-Lo sounds to be fricken amazing as does Mei Fang but they aren't straight 10T.

I caved and purchased some 10T Dual models/Crews and they are en route but I was just wondering if anyone else had that insane urge to play just one faction?

Also, I wish there was a composite list of what can be played with all of the 10T masters? It's confusing as hell (pardon my language) trying to figure out what can and can't be played with my people WITHOUT buying all of the books. It's not like it says who that model can play with on the back of the box when you go to buy it. -_- Any suggestions?

  3. Personally, I am competitive, but in a very...cordial way.

I used to play quite a bit when the game was first released (or I was introduced to it a little over three years ago) until I got into tourny play for WarmaHordes. I started back with the game last week and have picked up the entire TT faction (that has been released up to this date).

The first game was a demo game and I, of course, got beaten. The second game I won but the opponent held a card he should have played (which I saw in his hand after I beat him). I asked that he never hold back again because I thoroughly enjoy and can hold my own quite well in WarmaHordes. It can be a very cutthroat game. I think being beaten with the cheapest trick in Malifaux or the "most broke" (sorry to throw that horrible grammar at you all) combo in the game is the best way to learn and grow as a player.

I see it as you play your game, I'll play my game, and at the end we know who won. Win or loss, its just to have fun and there are a lot of laughs on my side (usually when I am getting destroyed) because I like when people can get their combos off. It's cool to see the devastation and it helps me know what can be done to my force.

I usually have an idea for a list in advance, much like you all, and then pull it out and play. I don't tell my opponent what I am using unless they ask and I don't ask what they are using because I don't care and I won't build an army to beat theirs. If someone tells me what they are bringing to the table, I make sure I build my list to be weak against it because all to many people I know tend to grumble or throw out that off comment of "well I told him what I was running." If there's a possibility of that being said, I will build my list to be at a complete disadvantage from the start and then fight to win. It's a war game, we aren't playing go fish, lol

I think you can be both competitive at the game and a casual player at the same time.

  4. C. Hoffman's "Machine Puppet" allows his controller to have "target Construct within 4" makes a strike one of its basic weapons." It goes on to not what the construct gains for that strike and what it's CB becomes for that strike.

I was wondering if C. Hoffman can make an enemy construct attack itself with that ability. I couldn't find anything in the rulebook that stated a model couldn't target itself with a melee attack.

If any mod or (in the WarmaHordes forums they're called Infernals, the ones who have final say on any rules dispute and represent Privateer Press) or any veteran rules-savvy player could help me out, that would be great!

I got into the Guild years ago when the game first took off and haven't played since the first rulebook. Got back into it last week with my two Guild Crews and picked the Ten Thunders faction but in my second game my opponent and I hit this situation where I performed that action on one of his constructs. We were unsure of how it was supposed to be played and since we didn't find anything countering the argument in the rulebook, we played as if C. Hoffman COULD do this.

    Thanks!
