  1. Played my first game with McMourning the other night and defeated a Lady J crew! This article was a great help. I wanted to ask a question tho: How do you guys get Expunge to work. Seems your opponent can see it coming go a mile away and camp a good card to make sure they make it an iffy play at best. The Chihuahua needs a 9 which isn't exactly an easy flip, so you basically have one real shot at it owe turn. Seems like that isn't the best plan. Any thoughts on how make this more reliable? A.
  2. So, as a general rule of thumb, if my master is standing in front of an opposing master (with in threat range) with a real chance to remove that master from the table, but also has a chance to score a couple of VP. Should I pass on the opportunity to take out the opposing Master and score the VP instead? A.
  3. My crews are mostly standard from the box, especially since Wave 1 is all we are working with currently. Additionally I'm still learning so not comfortable enough to start changing lists. However I like your suggestion on the upgrade; I'm definitely going to give that a try. Any other ideas? A.
  4. thank you... i'm still learning the rules of the game, with only a few dozen games experience from M1.5E or M2E. Thanks again!!! A.
  5. What info do you need? I'm happy to supply it all! A. ---------- Post added at 10:25 AM ---------- Previous post was at 10:19 AM ---------- Well, maybe I can phrase better, what schemes should I be looking for? I think in 4 of the games we flipped Squatters Rights. I didn't feel like that was so bad, it's a center strategy not requiring me to go across the board. As my opponent was coming to the scheme markers I was taking his pieces off the board. Seemed good, but it didn't keep me in the game. Seeing as I was generally slower, I didn't think it prudent to exasperate that by running to the centerline to be down on both VP and attrition. Regarding schemes, I try to pick the ones that require me to kill things (murder protege etc.) However I don't always flip those, and if not I try to pick the schemes that allow me to flip scheme markers on my side of the table (meaning I can stay home and fire at my opposing crew). Is there something flawed in my logic? I'm a Guild player and own every Crew (except for McCabe). Currently I play Lady J and Criid. Love to hear your thoughts... A.
  6. Thanks... any idea where this is in the book? Well help with learning curve. Thanks! A.
  7. So... I have played a half dozen games this weekend, and I have tabled my opponent in every game while I lost nearly all of them on VP. I'm having trouble discerning how to compete on VP playing Guild? Thanks in advance for any advice you might have! A.
  8. Noob question is the positive flip to duals mean attack only or attack and damage? Thanks... A.
  9. I couldn't find any rules on this, can anyone point to a page in the M2E book that covers this? Thanks! A.
  10. Boo.., but i understand. Hopefully in the future thats not an issue. A.
  11. If we wanted extra cards that are not in the Wave 1 box, is there a way to order more individual cards? A.
  12. @Dracomax... Thanks for the feedback, I'm loving the suggestion on the Friekorps specialist. 9 SS seems a little steep, but I will def pick one up. Is the Witchling Handler not worth it? She seems to have a lot of synergy with the Witchling Stalkers, or is it better, to not buy them and just let them manifest. Thanks again for the info... A.
  13. I'm working my way to 50 SS for our (new) community. I'm running her with base stuff mostly: Criid, Sam Hopkins, Witchling Stalkers x3, Witchling Handler, Purifying Flame, plus upgrades that amounted to 45 pts. Depending on the Avatar cost (I presume 3?) I will have to make some adjustments, but those are the pieces I was playing around with currently. I'll happily take suggestions . A.
  14. so wait for Wave 3 we must... I'm bummed. Not sure how to round out my Criid crew and I was waiting for these guys to come out. Tho, I'm hoping you guys are right about the Avatar. A. ---------- Post added at 11:47 PM ---------- Previous post was at 11:45 PM ---------- AH! Just read the link, let's hope he's just not teasing us A.
  15. Can they no longer be taken w/ Criid? A.
  16. +1 Omenbringer... Just looking for something definitive. I believe that it's intended 1 Soulstone can be added once per dual to add a suit. It does say "you can spend 1 soulstone", just doesn't seem to clarify how many times you can do it per dual. For that matter it doesn't indicate how many times you can use a soulstone for the same purpose during a dual, IIRC. Thanks for the follow up folks, hoping the follow up FAQ cleans up these items to make it even crisper. A.
  17. Not sure if this has been asked before, but my question is: Can a model say, Lady J, who has Crit Strike, spend any amount of Soulstones to add a Ram to duel total? I'm thinking that was not the intent of the ability, but as i'm reading it I don't see anything limiting it unless I'm not seeing another reference that clarifies it. Nor do I think this is necessarily a good use of Soulstones. Just asking so I understand the potential uses of the rule. Thanks in advance for your help... A.
  18. That's what I thought, just wanted to confirm...
  19. I believe I know the answer, but wanted to double check here: You cannot use your AP on (0) actions correct? Meaning, I used my (0) Action, it failed, so i'll use my first AP to try it again. You can't use the (0) to take the place of a (1) action. Correct? A. PS - sorry for the noob question, but it was contested tonight in one of my games...
  20. Why the desperate Merc? Just curious, as i've heard that before... A. ---------- Post added at 02:30 PM ---------- Previous post was at 02:28 PM ---------- Turn 4, really? I have had no trouble getting her out by then, but it 'felt' like it was too late in the game, to be honest; tho I'm not sure what I'm basing it on other than feel of the game. Seems like my LGS counter parts are popping their's out early and often (namely Ramos whom is mentioned in this thread and Marcus). Perhaps turn 4 is fine, and I'm too concerned w/ making it happen faster. Thoughts? A.
  21. So, I thought I posted this, but apparently the thread must not have gone thru. I have been trying to play Criid's avatar (albeit at low soul stone games) and I have found a couple of observations that I wanted to ask the forums about: 1. seems that playing an Avatar is not just including a 2 point model in the list, it feels like I should be building the list to play the Avatar; help it manifest faster, and take advantage of what it does when it does manifest. Is that correct? 2. feels like it's likely to be better in higher soul stone games; am I correct? A.
  22. its a trigger, not a spell. Does that make a difference? A.
  23. i guess what makes me question that is the ability on Two Birds from the Guild Rifleman specifically says that the dmg flip cant be cheated while Ricochet doesnt say that. To me that indicates that it can be cheated, which is why i posed the question. hopefully somebody can clarify... thanks! a.
