  1. Hi all,

Pretty much got everything since GenCon last year but haven't had a good chance to sit down and have a good long read over the books.

I think before I can GM a game myself, I need to get my stuck in and give it a go in person. The only problem is finding a group to do it.

Are there any folks in London who don't mind another fated to join in, or at least run a demo session?

  2. Sounds pretty dumb, but I had a go at the crew creator, made a 10T list which included Yin, but when it came to giving her upgrades, smoke grenades didn't show.

I'm not saying I wanted smoke grenades on Yin, but the card says "non-leader, rare 1" so surely she must be allowed to use smoke grenades, but the crew creator is being a little funny.

    Anything i'm missing?

  3. Oh man oh man! :D

Even though I cannot make it to GenCon, (curse being broke and English... and made out of wood!)

Can't wait for the GenCon section on the Wyrd shop to open!

Can't wait to get my wooden hands on the TTB stuff (if any) and crossroads (if present)!

Did I forget to mention that I CAN'T WAIT!?  :P

  4. Any idea if the new stat cards are available (printable and/or physical)?

I'm just currently making my own cards (using Word, no Photoshop, so no images, etc. Sadly.) So i can just print them off and use them.

As for the rule book... I just copied and pasted the rules from the website, and made a small booklet out of it.

I don't really want to get Unstitched, since I already have all that i need from V1. So it would be a waste to just buy the game just for the rule book and stat cards.

I know it seems odd since I am already under the process of making my own materials, but it would be nice to have the official products.

  5. You'll find that you're playing Collodi in "waves". First you move, re-collect your marionettes, go in for your "buzz-saw of doom", re-locate and re-collect your marionettes again and repeat. The best use is to be precise with your marionette kills; to go in, kill and get out whilst you can.

@ Joel: I don't think you can because; you move to disengage, opponent declares to disengage. They hit you and your action ends, therefore, you wouldn't be allowed to move, even if you fling a marionette to defend you. However, if the disengaging strike had effects (damage, poison or whatever) then you may resolve it on a marionette instead.

At least that's how i understand it, although i can imagine fluff wise Collodi would fling one of his marionettes into his enemy's face, the enemy will try to untangle himself from the doll, and Collodi makes a quick getaway.

  6. Ok i'm really confused now, i read on an earlier thread that the beta rules are on the Puppet Wars website, however what i read on the website is still the same rules that i've still got.

One of the rules changes you spoke about Panda, is that scrounge can be done anywhere (for friendly upgrades) but on the website it still has the old rules of scrounge (from work benches only).

What i'm confused about is that i'm told the beta rules are up, but when i read them, they aren't the rules as you have described them.

  7. Any chance that there will be a rulebook for puppet wars: unstitched?

Or are there going to be rules on the website soon?

I've heard the rules were on the website, from what i've read and seen on the forums, they're pretty much the same as the edition i've got. (Scenario book, metal models, etc)

One of the rule changes i've heard was about how the Aces count as 2 of the suit and then you flip for it's numerical value. That's the same rule i've got here.

And i guess the same question applies to stat cards of the puppets, do they remain the same or is there some difference, besides the aesthetics?

  8. If you folks want to see some offensive miniatures, please let me know, i'm working on them at the moment, but don't know if you have the stomach for it :)

Undead hookers, yin with guts spewing, killer teddy bears... Our stomaches handled many things Malifaux could throw at us, so I say Go ahead!
