  1. So I have been very outspoken about how the model quality in TOS is not good, and led to me leaving the game.

Because of that I wanted to make sure I posted here to say they have really made an effort to fix the issue.  The quality of the models in the two player starter is EXCELLENT.  I am incredibly excited that Wyrd has listened (or maybe was always going to change, either way) and has taken steps to fix a huge issue.

Glad to be back in the game, looking forward to supporting the game for quite a while to come!

I'm pretty sure the bendy plastic *was* the original plan. It's clearly a contentious material though. Apart from certain sculpts and bendy barrels I have no issue with it. But it seems to be a deal-breaker for others like yourself. Personally I think the current plastic would be fine IF they sculptors were careful about how they designed the models. Stuff like making sure the final product doesn't rely on thin legs for stability and avoiding parts that are long, thin & straight.

The original material, as discussed in the Kickstarter updates, was not that bendy stuff.  Also, I played with the first run of models at Gencon and can say for sure it was not the same materials at all.

I can't really remember but I thought the material switch happened close to the end of the process and caused the delays?

    My standard Asami list:

    Asami
    Amanjaku
Shadow Emissary  10ss (pitching your hand to fish for 11s, 13s and red jokers is amazing with Asami)
Low River Monk 5ss (standard take in every list for every master)
    Tengu 5ss
    Tengu 5ss
    Ohaguro 8ss
    Akaname 4ss

Then a free 7/8ss slot for another beater, eg: Samurai, Obsidian Oni, or Gwyneth Maddox for the card draw. Also can upgrade Ohaguro to Ama No Zako and add another utility model, such as a Terracotta Warrior.

I loved the Low River Monk last edition.  I feel like they still benefit quite a bit from McCabe, and given how many comments on McCabe I have seen here that seems like a big positive.

I got everything but the High Society Box I ordered. I assume because they ran out of stock. Is there any internal tracking regarding this?

I’m totally understanding and willing to be patient. I just don’t want 5 months to go by, never hear back, and when I follow up get told it looks like that order was filled. Is there any email that could be sent just so I have official documentation that that product is still waiting to be fulfilled?

    Thank You.

Yeah this is exactly how I feel.

I would usually never hire such an expensive model, either, but I tried it last week, and it went so well that my opponent forfeit at the end of turn 2.

    My crew was:

    Asami w/ 6 stones

    Amanjaku

    McCabe

    Luna

    Jorogumo w/ Masked Agent

    Ama No Zako

    Tengu

    Wedge deployment and Turf War.

I played very aggressively, and got my hired Jorogumo and a summoned Jorogumo right into my opponent's face, and McCabe tossed a saber to the first Jorogumo, which then got fast and ignored HtW/HtK/armor/shielded, and gave itself + flips with flicker, so of course it got 1 or 2 kills and removed flicker. Then it quick actioned to toss the saber to the next Jorogumo, which also killed more than 1 model. McCabe and the tengu claimed turf war markers, and Asami supported the Jorogumo, and Ama No Zako also got into the fray. At the end of turn 2 more than half his crew had died, and there was no way he would've survived a turn 3.

I think hiring a second master is usually not optimal, but McCabe brings so much versatility and support to Asami's crew, and she can summon models to make up for the low model count that a second master causes. Maybe my next game with this crew won't go as well, but McCabe will always be on my mind with Asami because of how brutally efficient he made those Jorogumo.

Having said that, the Oni keyword and Versatile Ten Thunders models provide enough variety and fun that a second master certainly isn't necessary. And maybe my game would have been just as one sided without McCabe and with a Samurai and Dawn Serpent instead? It's hard to say.

That list seems brutal for Turf War.

In addition to what everyone else has said, Ama No Zako is great, and Samurai, Dawn Serpent, and Shadow Emissary are all very good versatile models.

I would always hire a Jorogumo with her. McCabe handing out his sword artifact to Jorogumo is just an absurd combo.

I think part of my hesitance with McCabe in the list is just the sticker shock of hiring a 16 ss model.  That is a holdover from 2E though.

  7. I haven't gotten any 3E games in yet, about to start up with a regular group though so I am wondering what people have been using to have the most fun with her?

Right now I am wondering if Jorogumo are an auto include regardless of strat or scheme.  I guess they probably are?

Any help and advice would be appreciated!

Got mine today. Mine said everything was shipped, but they put a note in the box that the shipment was split in two and the rest (books for me) will be sent as soon as possible. If I go to the webstore it looks like the whole order is fulfilled, but it's not. Likely a limitation of the shipping software they use. So even if you order says delivered, you may find that it was in fact split in two, just as they said.

That is my guess too. It is not likely they have to deal with backorders that often as the webstore would normally not let you buy it if it was not in stock.

I am in a similar boat, except for me it's Archie rather than books that's missing.

I'm just hoping that Wyrd's internal tracking system is robust enough to keep all this straight.

Yeah so I guess that is my main concern.  With a team that is already by their own admission stretched thin, they now have to keep track of what has and has not been shipped through a different system than the one they normally use.

Also, at some point I would expect Wyrd to just give regular updates on the status of missing books/models rather than wait as long as possible for each info drop.  It looks like whatever issues they had with the books were not resolved this week like they expected.

As they've said. They will be sending the books separately. Your order was separated, they marked what they didn't have as back ordered, and you will be getting it as soon as they get it to be able to send. And yes, I ordered 3 books. So slow your roll there, hamtaro.

The things you have said re this sale have mostly been wrong so far, including the parts where you tried to say there was no problem with the books.  I would have thought that might convince you to make less strident statements.

If the books were not sent in a different box at the same time with the same shipping number (and I guess this is my best case scenario) how do you think the new shipment will function, logistically? Those books have already been marked fulfilled.  The tracking number they were assigned has been marked as delivered by usps.

Books will be sent separately they've said. For now you can submit the receipt to get a PDF access copy.

Yes they did say that.  I can tell you didn't order any books during the sale did you?

My order was not split into two orders, one with models and one with books.  The entire order has now been marked as fulfilled by Wyrd, and delivered by USPS.  That includes the books which share the same tracking number as the models, and which as far as I can tell were not fulfilled, shipped, or separated into a different order.

  11. Here is a heads up, if you have received a shipping update with multiple items you should check each item.  That will tell you if the books got sent with the models.

For instance, my entire order shows as being fulfilled- but in reality no books shipped.  I sent an email to Wyrd about this- but I am now thinking that books have still not arrived at their warehouse.

If this is what happened I'm seriously considering cancelling my ~$200 order. I truly hope you are mistaken, because printing out shipping labels when they weren't actually able to ship said order is deceptive. Were they using the shipping labels to "buy time" for product to get to the warehouse? If so, why did Kelly invite us to contact customer service if our product hadn't shipped yet?

I'll buy M2E stuff that is in stock at an LGS and get the 3E cards from an online retailer. It won't  be my first pick for a crew box but at least I'll be able to play...

Hey so I have obviously been waiting just like many other people on a very large order- I got a notice last night (in Korea) that my entire order shipped.  You can see back a couple pages on this thread what I ordered.  So I obviously don't know if it includes everything.  It SAYS it is the entire order, and I can see updates on USPS.  I will let y'all know once I get it what is actually in the box.

I am just as unhappy as a lot of y'all are with this process, but I can't lie -when I saw my stuff had shipped I got pretty excited.  Its a great game I have been playing since the end of 1st and I truly am pumped to see how 3e does.

Hopefully it turns out ok.  I really hope Wyrd figures out how to make this right, I am bit unhappy with some of the communication which I agree with others was not always 100 percent clear on what was actually happening.  I am glad that some of the staff eventually made some efforts, although it took far too long imo.

So, ignore the strange dudes on this thread who think Wyrd has done nothing wrong even when Wyrd says they did something wrong, hang in there and we will get through this together.

If you don't have an update the order has shipped by this evening, please reach out to customer service.  There are a few of us in the office today working to get the last of things wrapped up. There will still be some clean up next week, but we're making the last of the pushes to get everything possible out the door.

So I just emailed, got an out of office reply.

    My order is:

    Euripides Box

    Dreamer Box

    Marcus Box

    Brine and Bones

    All faction books

    Core book

I have not received one email regarding this order, other than when I checked two days ago finally and was told that it was being processed.  Webstore status says unfulfilled. That is a $445 order that was placed 31 July.   Does that fall into the 'clean up' category?

Easier they have explained that mostly they just print out all the orders, and divide them into piles and take one pile each starting at the top. I don't KNOW for a fact that's how they did it this year, bit it'd make sense, probably be the fastest approach, and would explain the random pattern in which stuff is packaged and sent.

For what it's worth I got my shipment today (cards, Nightmare Molly and Miss Seamus), so this makes it the second fastest GenCon shipping from Wyrd since 2013 I think...

So basically, there's no pattern, the time is just random. If you ordered delayed stuff, the time is the delay time plus random. If you don't like it, there's always eBay (for Ltd ed stuff) or LGS later on...

Fortunately Wyrd doesn't seem to be taking your suck it up buttercup approach to retail sales.
