  1. My friends and I are about to embark on a series of Henchman Harcore games and I thought I'd come here for suggestions. Here's what I'm thinking so far... Leader: Hungering Darkness (with Addict) - Illuminated - Illuminated/Beckoner - Mysterious Effigy Thoughts? Do I need the Beckoner? What's my biggest weakness here?
  2. In the Fated Almanac, it states that players will want to choose a race. And yet, I can't find any listed races in the same book. Are they in the Fatemaster's Almanac perhaps? Do they have any mechanical differences between each other? Or does everyone basically play humans?

  4. I'm looking for Perdita and her family (box set) for trade, painted or unpainted. I have lots of different things to trade. Malifaux wise I have a Ramos crew with extras, I also have lots of board/card games, video games (Bioshock: Infinite), etc. Just throw something out there and I'll tell you if I have it and if I'll trade it. I'll pay shipping on what I send if you do the same.
  5. You're looking at it all wrong. It's $65 for an entire faction right now. That means, even if you don't like it, you're only losing $65. That being said, you won't dislike it. It's good stuff. It's quick, the movement is cool, and it has nice firefight action. Oh, and the minis don't disappoint, gorgeous.

  7. Malifaux has all but died where I am. We need 2.0 to revive it or those of us who got into it late are going to have to toss in our hats. It's a sad situation, but I suppose the game probably needed this update awhile ago. I'll take it when I can get it and hopefully it does the trick.
  8. The one with her hunched over the cauldron? *shivers, I think it's horrible. Hoping she comes out in plastic, she is book 1 after all.
  9. I want two things... 1. To not hate playing against Lilith and The Dreamer. 2. A new Zoraida sculpt. The Alt sculpt is possibly the worst mini Wyrd has.
  10. Thanks for the advice. I have read the wiki articles on her crew and that's why I definitely want to start specifically with her box (and a Voodoo Doll) as it seems to be a great place to start. I think you cemented that opinion for me as well. I know strategy differs depending on scheme and what not, but lately we've been concentrating on ones that require me to either keep people away (Line in the Sand, defensively) or have the most at a location at the end. I can see Bad Juju being an intricate part of this, and later on some Nephilim or a Teddy. Which brings me to my odd current situation... My friend with whom I'm starting Malifaux only has one crew, The Dreamer. While we play with others, I will primarily be playing against him. That's what makes this interesting. Ramos was anything but affective against him, even with the constructs ignoring Wp duels. It was very frustrating, so I'm shelving Ramos for while (I don't really like his style anyway) and working with my Z crew. That means I have to play Zoraida vs. The Dreamer a bunch. I've been looking at his figs (Stitched Together, Daydreams, Alps) and it seems that I'll have a good time Obeying the Stitched and Alps especially. The Alps are 4 Wp have Blood Gift that will knock them down to 1 remaining Wd and heal one of my guys (since they are also Neverborn). This is good news. Any particular strategy I should be looking into for this sort of matchup? Obviously Lord Chompy Bits is a problem, but if I can Obey a Daydream, then I can use them to Calm Nightmares and bury LCB to bring The Dreamer back out.
  11. Hey guys, I know there are already some Zoraida crew threads, but I figured I'd start my own to give you a taste of what I'm looking for. I'm new to the game and after realizing I don't like Ramos at all, I bought Zoraida's box set and a Voodoo Doll. I love the theme and how she seems to work when I read her stat card. So here's what I'm looking for... a straight forward Zoraida crew. I know she's a bit tricky herself, and that's great, but I just need some good models to play with her that make objectives and what not pretty straight forward. I guess when I see crews like the Viks, Ortegas, even The Dreamer, I see a pretty straight forward strategy. So I guess what I need is a good list for Zoraida and strategy on how to play it. I'd like to use as much of her box set as possible in this (I think the Slurids are cool). Thanks!
  12. So the Gunsmith will help with the range I need? Or maybe I dont' need range? When should I consider getting the Avatar? I know they're for more advanced play, yes?
  13. Hey there, Played my first game last night and I was able to use my Ramos crew. In order to play at a lower SS cost for the game, I started with only one Swarm, two SPAs, Ramos, and Steamborg. It went well, but I really felt a crunch not having the other swarm. I was playing against Lady Jusice's crew. Here's what I have for my crew... - Ramos (original) - Steamborg Executioner Class - Steampunk Arachnid Swarm x 2 (so six arachnids) - Brass Arachnid We were playing Line in the Sand and I was on the defensive. Streamborg took on the majority of the Death Marshall crew, killing one off and taking Lady J down to 3 Wd before she killed him off. It was pretty awesome. Ramos largely hid behind a building, poking out to roast Death Marshalls that went for the dynamite. He killed one this way and injured a few others before Lady Justice took him out. My single arachnids never got a third pile (Ramos was pinned and couldn't get to the scrap tokens all game because of terrain placement), but individually they killed a Death Marshall. My single Swarm was all I had left in round 5. I used Scatter, then I charged Lady J with two of the Arachnids, latching on and blowing one up to kill her off in round 6. I had two arachnids left vs. the Judge. "Store's closed, pack up your crap!" ...and we'll never know (but I was going to win). Great game. I didn't even play with the Brass Arachnid and I'm already aware of how badly I a good totem. The Brass Arachnid wouldn't have been very helpful at all during that match and after looking into the Mobile Toolkit I think that's the way to go. The extra Scroll will be HUGE when I am actually able to collect scrap counters. I'll definitely play in such a way next time that I can collect them. Okay, so I'm looking for a good way to round out my team. Just to finish it off, I've gone ahead and bought two more Swarms (I'm not magnetizing the spiders, so this will give me two full swarms and two full sets of 3 single arachnids). This way I can just swap models out when I summon SPAs and then again when I swarm or scatter. When I ordered the two swarms, I went ahead and ordered a Mobile Toolkit as well. That will bring me up to... - Ramos - 2x Arachnid Swarm - 6x SPAs (additional) - Steamborg - Brass Arachnid - Mobile Toolkit I obviously can't play the BA and the MT at the same time. So what should I add or subtract to play smaller point games(25ss)? What should I get for higher point games later on? Kaeris? Willie? Is there an effective way to add some range to the crew?
  14. Okay, so I probably won't use Luna until I expand with some Guild Hounds, then. How would Luna and the hounds work, strategically?
  15. Okay, awesome, thanks! I forgot about the clockwork traps, they look like fun. Tomorrow night is my first demo of Malifaux. I'm taking my Ramos crew, but I'm not sure I'll use it. I might use the demoer's Lady J crew and show some guild love from the very beginning. Either way, I'll probably go the Lucas McCabe route in the coming weeks.

  17. Thanks for the info. guys. I'm going to keep looking into things and see what I can come up with. I'm not sold on hanging onto the Arcanists as my faction, but who knows. If the new Rasp stuff looks good with 2.0 changes, maybe I'll pick that up later on. Any thoughts on the rail crew from Ten Thunders?
  18. Hi there. I'm new to the game. I have a Ramos crew I'm not planning on playing for long. I'm really interested in McCabe, so here's the crew I'm thinking of building. Tell me your thoughts? - Lucas McCabe - Luna - 3x Wastrels - 3x Guild Riflemen - Drill Sergeant I think it sounds like fun... a good amount of ranged fun with a super mobile Lucas. Does this sound like it would be affective for the lower SS matches? Also, do I need to include Sidir Alchibal?

  20. Great timing, as I'm just getting into Malifaux right now. I don't have to really learn a new ruleset, just take my time learning the old one and wait for the new stuff to roll in. And I'll be at GenCon this year, so I'll have to check out the release!
