  1. Get'cha puppets here! I have two metal Teddy puppets for sale, $30 shipped. I also have a metal Hooded Rider for sale, $30 shipped, including card. Prices negotiable :1_Happy_Puppet2:
  2. To simplify: The black joker makes things auto-fail. If you cheat a black joker in to defend, you auto fail your defense.
  3. Can I help design the next wave of puppets? :1_Happy_Puppet2: Seriously though, we had a great time.. I ended up 2-1 overall. Tauwolf and I had a seriously BRUTAL match. "Oh, you're going to kill this guy? Then I kill that one." It was just trading massive blows over and over. In the end, it came down to whose puppets could last the longest, and mine were still hungover from the night before. Fullborer and I had a slightly less exciting match that ended with me taking his only workbench in 7 animations. The teddy army was scary because if you kill one teddy, you only make the others stronger. It would have been a very interesting match if I hadn't squeaked in there for the bench. Hijynks' wife and I had a pretty low key game. I had an opportunity to win, but I filled her in on the fact that her only workbench was ripe for the taking, so she quickly protected it and proceeded to destroy 2 of my puppets. At that point, she had me on the run, but I was able to fanangle my way to the back of the board and put the last rip on Lady J to win. I was sweating for a few animations, though! The entire weekend was ripe with puppetry. We taught around 6 people how to play. One played in the tournament and two ended up buying the game (Hi Brooke and Adam!). All in all, a great event! Hope we can get more people for next year, or maybe just some informal puppetry earlier in the con. ---------- Post added at 01:50 PM ---------- Previous post was at 01:19 PM ---------- ... aaaand I just noticed the bunny ears from Fullborer in the last picture. THIS MEANS (PUPPET) WAR!
  4. Perhaps this is why my puppets didn't play very well...
  5. Photo bomb! Fullborer questions Tauwolf's move as he plays his first game of the tournament against someone we demoed for last night. Practicing for the tournament on Saturday night. Getting ready to start a demo game for Adam and Brooke from Iowa. LFG (me!) demoing. "THE PUPPETS ARE SO ADORABLE!!!" Winners!
  6. Phew. Done. This model looks much better in person. There is a lot of subtle blending in the wings that I couldn't photograph well (Dammit Jim, I'm a teacher, not a photographer!) and I tried the best I could to correct for it in Gimp, but alas. Also, the gears on her back are different colors. One is copper and one is bronze, and two are different shades of silver. I accomplished this by painting them all the same color silver (P3 Pig Iron) and then washing with Ogryn Flesh, Badab Black, and Gryphonne Sienna. It makes a nice natural metal color! More to come, but seeing as it is 1 am the night before Adepticon and I still have to work tomorrow, it's bed time. Looking forward to seeing everyone at the con on Sunday!
  7. Love love LOVE the piglet with a hog whisperer. He is great for a misdirect (OMG that model is next to my master! Better kill it! Wait, what are you doing with that Hooded Rider...?) I also rather enjoy strapping a Rad Sword to him and running him into combat with a war squeal. He also does great with the misdirection aspect when you have an Austringer out, because it's like, "Oh, you don't want to kill the pig? That's ok, I'll just bird bomb you next turn."
  8. Not much to say about this one.. I dislike the model, so painting her was more of a chore than fun. I had the plaid on the skirt done perfectly, but then I broke my own rule and kept messing with it. I restarted three times until I got this. She looks great from far away...
  9. More Paint Break Updates! I was originally going to make his bird blue, but I decided on a pigeon for a few reasons. Number one, the upgrade is called "That darn pigeon!", and number two, I kind of just wanted to paint a pigeon because their markings are pretty. I also volunteer at a wildlife rehabilitation facility on the weekends, and we have a pigeon named Frances that we use for educational programs. So here is my Austringer and his pigeon Frances!
  10. Just thought I'd toss a WIP photo up here of my Pokey Vik. I didn't like the wings that were provided, so instead of putting those on her, Fullborer found me some GW wings from a Dark Elf helm (I believe). I pinned those to her back, then greenstuffed over it so it looked seamless, then covered up all of my beautiful greenstuffery with some clock parts (also compliments of Fullborer). Originally she had a wind-up key as well, but that came loose during transport (or sometime during the stomping I gave Tauwolf last night), so I chopped it off and called it a day. I love the finished look, but all night at our game store, we had Malifaux players coming over going, "Is that a Kaeris puppet?!?!" I'm ok with that, though, since I absolutely LOVE the Kaeris model. Now if only Vik could breathe fire...
  11. Paint break continues apace. I finished up my second Ronin today at blazing speed compared to the first one, and.. holy crap. The difference in my painting from my first Ronin to this model is amazing to me. After I matte coated this Ronin, however, all of my highlighting got flattened, so I'll be tossing another highlight on before I'm totally finished. Tauwolf based the models for both of us, and this little Ronin was looking a little wobbly. Luckily, there was a purity seal for her to tread on.. I mean, to prop her up. O:-) Also, Tauwolf and I played a 1 on 1 match tonight with our respective Adepticon crews. My piglet was the MVP after I strapped a sword on him and ran him up to Seamus. He managed to throw a few stabs in before a Ronin came up and finished him off. To be fair, I was getting ALL the cards I needed and poor Tauwolf could barely activate. But, all's fair in love and puppets.
  12. These models all look FANTASTIC in person. Tauwolf has a really stylized looking crew. It all meshes so well. Mine meshed... until this guy... Ladies and gentlemen, I present... Peeg, or, The Most Fun Model to Paint Ever.
  13. @Hugor, It's never too late! Join us!! You just might have to find a room at a different hotel, since the hotel is full. @Panda, Add a new rule to that list: Don't give up, because it'll look like ass until it doesn't! -- Because, well.. it does.
