Also curiously watching what happens with the Rollin's box. Some things that seem weird to me if they were to re-package as an Explorer's Society collection:

    - I remember it being pretty expensive? Like almost $100? Seems like a simple fix would be to just break up the box into several boxes, but still odd.

    - The models seem a little anachronistic from an aesthetic standpoint, but that argument is maybe a little neck beardy.

    - Those models were legitimately the most challenging and frustrating things to put together. Even the slightest alignment error would leave a huge gap between parts of the rider and their mount. I had to replace the handlebars of one of the Ramone's with brass rod because of this. Also, the fiddlyness of the parts seems way over the top (even by Wyrd standards) for a general release. Maybe they'll redesign the sculpts so they're more manageable?

And this is why I think they'll remain as a nightmare crew. For McCabe and some unreleased Wastrel models.

Even if the style doesn't appeal, you might appreciate the accuracy of Geryon's appearance according to Greek Myth.

    From: https://www.greekmythology.com/Myths/Creatures/Geryon/geryon.html

You'll see the model takes advantage of both interpretations at the same time - a creature with both three heads and few extra limbs to give the vague hint of extra bodies. It evokes an image of parasitic twins - or triplets in this case!

Makes me wonder if Hekatonchires are down the pipe at some point.

I didn't think much of Misaki till I played her, she truly does fill the board with her markers unless the opponent tailors specifically to nuke terrain and that makes all her crew amazing at taking objectives. Ototo is a bit of a wet fart, but his ability to set up an extra shadow marker may prove invaluable thanks to how amazing the Crime Bosses and Minako Rei are and how much they depend/enjoy those shadow markers.

Asami I'd also place higher, she can do anything at any given moment, her versatility is just top notch and the Tengu and Yokai are pretty good schemers overall.

Yan Lo is a beast, a bit of a slow starter himself, but his keyword is full of topnotch choices.

McCabe I think is being slept on since he is missing some key pieces, once Desper and friends are out, he will do WORK, specially in areas that allow dual masters.

Shenlong... is a weird one. Shenlong himself is amazing and can do pretty much anything at any given time. It's wonderful to know that you can kick something to death at one point, and if you can't get in, you can be one of the best healers in the game in the next turn. The rest of the crew dies to a stiff breeze though unless you top load the hell out of them with Chi which requires a lot of "self play" which I personally find kind of annoying. Definitely low river monks and Wandering river monks have a place, rest I find more debatable and wonder if he's better filling the list with Versatile models and from other keywords.

Mei Feng I don't personally put much stock on, but our local top player considers her one of the most dangerous masters in Ten Thunders. He does emphasize that Sparks has to be in there and there is some evil to be had combining that with Lone Swordsman...

Nothing to say about Youko nor Lynch, I just don't do them.

Ototo's self-heal is amazing in Corrupted Idols.

Come on man. I am actually trying to have a discussion about this, of course I am speculating I don't know I am just presenting my thoughts.  You said, "that doesn't mean what you seem to think it means."  Now that I have explained what I think, you are trying to move the goalpost?  If you think, as your posts read, that I am off on some wild tangent- I am open to understanding why.  But so far all you have done is make strange passive aggressive swipes without actually addressing any points.

It is fine to believe based on what Wyrd has said that they have this totally in hand.  I have pointed out some inconsistencies that are concerning to me, particularly when I have a 500 dollar order that I made on 31 July that I have heard nothing about for four weeks.

I didn't change the goalpost. I already said what I think it means, that they wouldn't even begin processing those orders until the 12th. The inconsistencies you've pointed out are based in speculation.

I think we are talking past each other? But I will try to be more clear.

The initial ordering process said- when you order books those aren't coming in until 12 August so there will be a bit of delay. Check.

Update from Kyle says- delays at this point are due to staffing and a ton of orders.  Says nothing about books being delayed further past the 12 August date.

Other posters on forum say- I got an email recently (close in time to Kyle post) that says books were in fact not in on 12 August.

Based on all of that- I am worried that the update from Kyle left out information.  Make sense?

That's not what it said though? It said that orders with books wouldn't begin to be processed until the 12th. That doesn't mean what you seem to think it means.

If we were pre-ordering Faction books at GenCon and not buying them, y'all should have said so, Kyle.

Considering they weren't officially released yet, it should have been obvious what it was.

There was no books at GenCon at all. They were online only and not due to ship till the 12th as per the website info you had to respond to before completing your order.

And it was the 12th at the earliest.

good! thank you all! I think I'm just really impatient to get them xD

I think we all are. Just imagine how it feels to live in Wyrd's backyard and not have shipping yet. I'm not complaining or going to storm the gates, by any means, but it is certainly tempting at times. I'm happy for the announcement today though for sure.

Hi every one! I ordered 2 card packs at gencon and received 6 days ago the tracking number for my order! was pretty happy and though that since I had the tracking number and it was saying in transit I would received them soon. Normally after around 10 days I receive my order and during this 10 day period I have a lot of checkpoint to see were the package is.

But for this order it is still saying in Newark NJ and in transit. With all my older orders by this time it would have arrived in my country and I would have gotten a lot more checkpoint along the way. So what I'm asking is could Wyrd not already have sent the package and is waiting to get the packs? or did some of you had problem with checkpoints not showing on the fedex site?

thx to all of you! :) I know I could just be patient but these packs are impossible to get in Canada and I was wondering if Wyrd didn't had any too and was waiting for the second printing to send it! If this is the case I would not have bought some with shipping cost if I receive my order the same time as my flags in a few month! 😕 (in my province the only flags who received some got one of each pack and they were gone in half a day lol)

The fact that you have a tracking number, and the most recent update being in a city with an international airport might indicate a few things. It says it is in transit, that means it is on its way. You said it usually takes 10 days, if it's been 6, give it another few days.

Nothing yet.  At the moment the only things we know for certain are part of The Explorer's Society are Mounted and Dismounted McCabe, Luna, Cornelius Basee, and Bernadette Basse.

Personally, I have a strong suspicion that the contents of The WIld Ones Nightmare Box will be one Explorer Master and his crew.  This is based on previous Wyrd comments that the Ramones will be playable with McCabe in M3E, despite them originally being alt's for Guild Mounted Guard, even though McCabe is no longer a Guild Master.  Pair that with the fact that The Wild Ones is the only Nightmare Box to be missing alt cards in the Dropbox with all the M3E cards.  This only makes sense if the rules for each of those models is going to different from the model they were originally an alt for, otherwise the cards for most of the box could have been released (and Rollins would still be an alt McCabe) and just the Ramones held back.

But time will tell if my suspicion is correct!

I think that it is far more likely that the crew will be alts for new explorer's society units than it is that they'll be their own units.

You're implying that updating the community on the status of orders would slow down the process of filling orders? How? If you are suggesting literally every staff member at Wyrd who could update us is out there picking warehouse orders then they are in DIRE need of temp help (and probably an HR or office manager).

In any case, Wyrd absolutely should take on temp staff for processing these orders if it typically takes this long during Gencon. Overall, turning around orders in a timely fashion will make them more money and improve customer satisfaction.

Anyway, my original intent in posting on this thread was just to communicate with other buyers what my order status and items were so we could piece together where Wyrd is at with orders currently.

I'm not implying it. I'm saying it. They do hire temp staff to help. They are small, all located in a single warehouse/office (correct me if I am mistaken) and not a particularly large one at that. Would it be nice to know how far they've gotten? Yes. Is it necessary when people are getting shipping notices from orders placed during the convention? No. And just so you can see what kind of company they are (beyond being rather small) here is the primary job duties from their Game Designer Narrative Focus job listing on their website (Bold, Italics and Underlining added by me for emphasis):

Work on current and future game releases. With an emphasis on writing, editing, and assisting in component design, you will work on content creation for games such as Through the Breach, Malifaux, the Other Side, and more.

Work directly with the Creative Director to ensure that all project specifications are on target both conceptually and in terms of timeframe.

Collaborate with the entire team, building upon ideas through constructive feedback.

The ability to bring ideas and characters to life through written presentation.

Contribute to ongoing development of the Malifaux world and its characters.

Maintain a professional presence through written and verbal communication while interacting with the game community while developing an understanding of our customers’ wants, wishes, and concerns.

Assist at conventions and trade shows, including set up, demos, customer service, and breakdown.

Other duties, as assigned, to assist in the office and warehouse, as needed.

Possess a proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Photoshop, and InDesign

It's been a couple more weeks.  I'm trying to be patient, but am failing miserably.  :)  I'd love to pick up the strat/scheme deck and a small pile of alt-model cards.  Any chance for an update?

Well, first, there's not a strat/scheme deck as there are only 4 strategies and 13 schemes total (this may change when Gaining Grounds for 3e is announced). And these couple weeks are a rough one, since Gen-Con slows them down with anything that isn't directly related to packing and shipping orders from the sale, that are undoubtedly beyond the usual volume (probably an understatement on that, tbh). They are available for use for free via pdf so you can print them yourself or hire a professional company to do it. If you're dead-set on getting them through Wargames Vault, the only answer is going to be, please have more patience.

I believe every one here are just loving the game and being impatient because they cannot wait longer for the brand new toys. I, for one, sure want Wyrd ships out all orders ASAP, but it would be nice if they could spare a minute or two to drop a comment about the current status e.g. are they waiting the boxes to arrive the warehouse, or are they now packing the parcels. It is not necessary to be an official announcement, but a short note on this thread or AWP can work.

Also we should notice that, when comparing to previous Gen Con/Festival sale, this time the sale is a part of the new edition launch. The order counts is probably much larger than previous events as most players have something to buy. So it is not surprise that it takes more time to handle all these orders.

We have had an official note. I think it was in both places, but I distinctly remember seeing it in AWP. They have begun shipping orders out. Do you want more, redundant posts of "We're still shipping stuff out," or do you want them to keep on with shipping stuff out?

I'll let you all know when I get my order or confirmation of shipment! I made it on 8/1 right after the store came online. The order had both Euripides and the Neverborn book. According to checkout it wouldn't even have started processing until the 12th but that would be a full business week tomorrow.

So, it's safe to say they are behind schedule - we'll see how much!

There was no schedule. That was simply the date they would begin processing orders with books in them. It's well documented that Gen-Con orders take a while before they get processed. Especially from a company as small as Wyrd.

On a different note, I really, really enjoyed Collodi's theme and loved the models. I think that the puppets were some of the most iconic Wyrd minis and they were superb quality-wise. Now, I realize that you can play a Puppet crew without Collodi but Henchman crews aren't quite up to par, IME. I think losing Collodi was a real shame - Nico, Ramos, and Lilith still have their themes well-represented by other Masters, I feel, but Collodi not so much.

I'm ignoring the rest of your statement because it's getting obnoxious. And I'm going to address this. Hinamatsu is probably one of the /best/ choices to have as a henchman leader, full stop. Qi and Gong gives access to leverage and a lot of lure, as well as some pretty effective anti-schemers, and puppet is a huge keyword that gives access to all of the effigies. And Hinamatsu with 3 actions? Move 6 with a +2 on your charge. In melee Hina gets 4 melee attack actions with a 2/3/4 damage track and with the right luck (or cards in hand) You can literally double your attack action. Armor +2 is nothing to scoff at either. So you're actively incorrect about the henchman leader, which means you have plenty. Sure, it's not puppetmastery, but.... It's better than par.
