Hardlec, Im out of Jacksonville and am looking to try and get some demos together at the local shops, I currently have 3 crews painted and ready to go, if you are interested we could partner up and work something out. Hell, just getting together to play would be fine with me!

Had my first game of Malifaux last night, Seamus vs. Lady J starter crews. All in all I really enjoy the game. The cards really make for an interesting mechanic, I like knowing if I really need to succeed at something all I have to do is hang onto that red joker! :-) I think that I understandmost of the rules but I was wondering about some of the stats/ abilities/ talents on the cards as well as other questions, see below. 1. How exactly does Companion work? I think that we were doing it correctly by activating any models that have the trait, in this case Sybelle, after the rotten belle had a go. Also since a model can only be activated once per turn if I activate Sybelle via companion I cant activate her again in the same turn, right? 2. What does the color on some of the stats signify? For example the Rotten Belles have CB for both their weapons colored their faction color but Seamus only has it for his Melee weapon, while Lady J has has the Stat DF colored as well as the CB for here Great sword. I seem to recall reading something in the rules manual about it but couldn't remember where it was. 3. All model bases block line of sight but don't provide cover if I'm reading this correctly, Is there any other detriment if a model is tracing partially over a base? I think not but just wanted to make sure.

Getting into Malifaux was a no brainer for me, I absolutely love the art work and theme of the game, I also enjoy the back story. Problem was that I had no one that I knew in my area that played. Since I lack an opponent my thought was to pick up 2 starter crews, Seamus and Lady Justice, this way I have a nice theme game to demo at the local shops here in Jacksonville, FL. I then got hooked on the whole show girl boxed set and ended up picking up that starter set, some doves, and a Coryphée. I have assembled the Seamus and Lady Justice crew, primed them, and promply relized that I was in way over my head when it came to painting... Im a painter, of sorts, Ive painted 15mm before...badly, but never anything like these detailed figs. I totally lack the skill to do these minis justice. Also I have 2 young children, a wife, and a 50+ hour a week job so getting the time to paint is very unlikley. So there they sit waiting to be painted, thats where the community comes in. Im looking to paint up all the crews and am willing to pay for your skill. Please send me PMs with some photos of your work and maybe we can work something out. Thanks

Greeting all. New to the boards and the game. I'm located in Jacksonville Florida. I just picked up 2 of the starter crews, Seamus and lady justice, and would love to take them for a spin. I'd like to preface this with "im new here." So forgive if this has been answered before. I just picked up Seamus and Lady Justice starters and the rules manual (the fate cards are on thier way via UPS) My question is, do I need to pick up the other 3.books if I already own the Rules Manual? I'm thinking not but just want to be sure. I know that the other books have nice fluff but are there any rules that I will miss by not having them? My thinking is that the 90+ dollars could go toward Terraclips instead. Also forgive the typos I'm doing this on my smart phone.
