  1. A car load of squigs? That sounds more fun than a car loads of gamers. Oh wait...
  2. I'll keep it brief for fear of starting more fires than Kaeris and Student: Can Mobile Toolkit use its (1) action "controlled detonation" on itself. The key text for the action is "kill target friendly construct within 12"." Any advice would be appreciated. Many thanks.
  3. Turnip picking? Counting the amount of locals that are related to each other? We'd have the hall in theory for the entire period over the weekend so could easily go out of a meal then back for some board games or go out somewhere in the evening. TBH I haven't given it much thought yet, been a bit focused on getting pack up etc.
  4. Hi boys & girls I'm running my first event this October in Norwich. The format is going to be 4 30ss matches on Saturday and 3 25ss per player (50ss per side) doubles matches on the Sunday. There will be a winner each day and an overall winner. Doubles pairings will be picked randomly on the Sunday morning but pairing requests can be made in advance and where possible will be accommodated. Pull information can be found in the rules pack. The location will be Lazar House, Norwich. Food will not be provided but there is both a corner shop and a fish and chip shop less than 2 minutes walk from the venue. Tickets cost £20 for the weekend (one person for both days) or if you can only attend one day the ticket is £12. Full information including rules pack can be found at www.aftermath-tournament.co.uk/ Any question please email malifaux@aftermath-tournament.co.uk or message me on twitter @jdmickleburgh or post below. I look forward to seeing you there. EDIT: 15th October - Results!!! (After each player is their three scores used for rankings. TPs are 3 for a win, 1 for a draw, 0 for loss. I have never attended any form of event that has had such great, friendly, sporting people and it is thanks to all of you that everyone (hopefully) had such a great time. Planning an event is easy, it's planning for unknowns on the day that is hard and due to all of the attendees being so great, nothing cropped up that I had to deal with. Which meant I got to crush you all with Molly filth. Finally I'd like to remind you to check out the excellent Malifools Podcast which I'm sure will feature great discussion about the tournament and also allow Mike to explain what happened at the end of his last game.
  5. My lawyer is always available to be borrowed. Nuffle knows I never use him. In all honesty you need the speed for that strategy, not that M struggles with speed. Silurids and Night Terrors are clearly the way to go, especially with flock together. Schemes, I'd take maybe steal relic and sabotage. Can't see you scoring anything but 8vps with that. Unless you're like me and only ever flip red joker for initiative. Anyway, that's my tuppence.
  6. I think you'll be OK as long as your opponent doesn't use Hoffman *smug*
  7. Sorry, I should have put more details up here. Quote from our rules page... "If a Master controls no territories then only one territory is at stake in an encounter (and the territory-less Master has no buffs for that game). Two Masters without territories cannot play each other." Another Quote... "Any new Masters will start with no territories - they're new, after all, and will have to fight for a foothold in Malifaux." Hope this answers your questions buddy, thanks for the feedback
  8. Hi, I'm sure I posted something on here previously about this but can't find it now :S Due to a recent mass conversion of players to Malifaux at my club (*looks shifty*) we had call to design an ongoing fluffy campaign. Like most leagues/campaigns it plays heavily on the 'Battle for Malifaux' document so thanks again are due to Dustin Smith for the original concept for that. Unlike most fluffy campaigns it sort based on master/hench (m/h) rather than controlling player. This mean that anybody can play with any m/h rather than people being tied to one specific m/h. We christened the campaign 'Malignancy'. There are 130 territories being fought over (5 of each type from the original document). Each of these have been given a fluffy name but apart from that the 5 are identical. For example, the 5 Gremlin villages are called 'Soggy Bottom', 'Moonshine Palace', 'Boondocks', 'The Pigpen' & 'Swamptown'. But all of them give the same benefit (once per game one model may take a (0) healing flip). These 130 territories were randomly distributed to the 26 masters/henchmen and gave each 5 starting territories. Whenever a scrap/brawl is fought each player selects one of the territories owned by their m/h and puts that up as a stake. They are also allowed to use that territory buff. If you win you take the opposing players territory. If you lose, you obviously lose it. If you draw then both of the territories are 'salted'. This means they are still owned by the same m/h but have lost the buff and don't count as a held territory. They can be unsalted by being used as a stake territory (albeit not giving a buff) and winning the game. It is very unlikely that this campaign will ever end as that would require one master to own all 130 territories. What this gives us is a fluffy way to record every Malifaux game that takes place at our club, with both master/henchmen win/draw/loss ratio but also who is more successful with certain masters and also who has the highest w/d/l with any master. Here are some links for you to check out: This is the territories owned by each m/h: http://www.aftermath-club.co.uk/campaigns/malifaux/index.php (Click on m/h name for a breakdown of what they own). Currently recorded encounter results: http://www.aftermath-club.co.uk/campaigns/malifaux/results.php We have just started a 10 player league so the results will be piling up pretty sharpish. I appreciate any comments you have on this. If you're ever around Norwich, UK feel free to contact me for a game.
  9. I remember the joy of Zoraida's obey from when my mature neph used to chomp up his tot brothers and sisters Thanks for the swift replies everybody. Been a lurker on here for ages but never wanted to wade in as I never felt I knew enough.
  10. Well that's very odd and make's this whole thread irrelevant. I only ordered my Ortegas box a couple of months ago and it's got the v1 cards in it. I hadn't looked to make sure they were v2 as I thought they were so recent. Gah! Edit: If only I'd checked my Zoraida cards.
  11. So is the verdict that masters cannot be targeted with obey? If so could someone link me to the errata that clarifies this please. I wasn't planning on using this tactic, it was just something that came up in conversation and I wasn't sure if it would be possible.
  12. I'm playing Levi tonight with my Ortegas crew and was discussing interesting ways to beat him. One way was to stop Levi losing wd so I wondered if anyone knows if Perdita can cast obey on Levi to force him to do a healing flip. Obey states a (1) action or charge and a healing flip is (1). I can't find anything on forcing opposing masters to discard ss other than in kill prevention eg headshot trigger. Any help would be appreicated.
