  1. That is creepy eh! Zombies in pink, great stuff
  2. Holy hell! I had no respect for that model (LCB) and youv made it look fantastic, love what you did with the bone plate head, the glow off the eyes is perfect, I'm so impressed! I keep going back to the links on your posts everytime I need painting inspiration! Just pick one and random and find something that blows you away!
  3. Ok hit the wknd with a real plan to get some work done on the table, friday night i did well (sad i know but i have two wee boys under three so social life is right on backburner) i basecoated the most central raised section, it already has a pattern pressed into the card with a ballpoint pen, this didnt work as i had hoped but still helps. I painted it all and let it dry then re-drew the tile pattern with black pen, then inked the whole thing then intended to go over and highlight the whole thing with a fine brush.. at this point i was really happy with how it was coming up, its really light compared to the rest of the board but i wanted one section to be a real contrast, old light tiles but fithly and broken. unfortunately this was the first bit of the board i put together, its hard foam inside boxes (usually from musli bars or something) and the one im working wasnt as solid as it should have been, it has sagged and started to warp now i have pretty low standards sometimes but like i said i was happy with the effect of the tiles and it was making the warping look even worse, so i agonised for a while then bit the bullet, decided to patch the top level with a hard bit of card and try and get it sharp and flat looking, cost me more than a nights work but doing the whole process over i could take some shortcuts and am pleased i did hopefully still finish that bit tonight but a bit of work in the detailing i want to do something special with the pipe over hanging the tiles, a grate and a tentacle meybe or a grate with a corpse stuck against it on the inside of the pipe! that would be a challenge also started putting bits of card aroung the board just to have bits raised out of the 'water' i couldn handle the idea of putting the crate and barrel terrain down on the wet sections, didnt sit right with me! they'd get soaked!
  4. I dont think it ends too abruptly, with a little mausoleum as a nice centerpiece it should look well balanced, its looking great for initial construction! Do you plan to put some kind of texture over the pink foam walls? Iv never used that material? Can you just paint it as is?
  5. Thanks man, it's really devolved into whatever I'm currently distracted by! It's is doing it's job my goal for the wknd is to get another unpainted chunk o the board finished, now if I can just drag myself away from those zombies!
  6. It took me three nights to figure out the airbrush (find cries for help elsewhere on forum) but once I got it I sprayed the four spa's and the des engine as easily as you would with a spray pack, say half hour with setup, then light drybrush and inked em all later that night another twenty (but for all five figs) then the final detail today took about twenty again I work pretty manically, for example threw the first coat over pants then while that dried I gave the skin a final highlight with fine detail brush then highlight the then dry pants then base coat the mechanical stuff while that dries blacked in the braces etc
  7. Have put a water effect down already but I used a thin coat of gloss polyurethane more for the different sheen level than for any illusion of thickness so no warping yet And I have been further distracted, my brother picked me up a new crew for my birthday and I got myself an airbrush. I put these pics when asking for help with said airbrush so sorry if anyones seen em already Yay zombies!
  8. Aww I'd have loved to jump in with MY levi crew but someone was a little trigger happy with new airbrush so there well under way! Will just have to keep an eye on yours osoi
  9. Fantastic work, give us a close up of what's painted on the bigs guys blade!
  10. Wow I cannot wait to see your paint job on that LCB, I assembled the limited version for a friend and have not seen a good job on that version yet, waiting with baited breath!
  11. Got a couple done, really happy with canvas, thats a really cheap cheat the cat looks more pink than orange might try again
  12. Good eye! The barrels are indeed Pegasus and awesome, the crates i found at a hobby store while looking for woodland senics crates, I can't remember the brand but there not the best, they were cheap and I think meant for railway stuff, there doin the job tho
  13. Nice! I liked that u got a two lots of Cory and made a duet! Mine are pinned into their bases and forming up involves some fiddling! Might do it your way eventually but don't like the idea of painting four Cory! Hope I get a game against you but Colette v Colette would not be fun!
  14. not the best pic, i will try and get some closer ones as i do more to these pieces. have been working on putting the barrels and crates together in piles, i intend to add small detail to each one, a friend passed on the coffins which im really chuffed with, love the idea of them just laying around. i have the cat from the malifaux base extras packs a few tentacles some other bits and pieces. i really want to have a little detail or two on each one so theres something every time you look, rats eating a disembodied hand was a good idea that got passed around, will also try drape some canvas over some of them better pic soon!
  15. I got it too work! third attempt tweaked paint and settings and technique and it came together. i was concentrating on the skin and did the engine and the four abominations from the levi box in the one session i'l throw up some more pics as it comes together
  16. That's the problem! Card wording is '(1) dance partner place this model in base contact with a friendly coryphee or coryphee duet within 18" . or switch places with etc So the problem arises with two options. For the record we played it out as declare one then measure. Another q by the wording on the card can the coryphee cant dance to cassandra only she can dance to them?
  17. Can anyone point me in the direction of a good tutorial or thread regarding airbrush use? Have just got one and had a play around but trial and error is using a lot of paint and propellant, having issues with covering and now spitting a bit. Even if someone has a good paint to water ratio?
  18. That is incredible, what an awesome job! Do you a time estimate? How long it took to do? That's amazing how much difference the black and white backgrounds make! Love the black backdrop pics more, please say you are entering this in a paint comp somewhere!
  19. From the wording on the card that was what I thought just need to confirm it!
  20. Thanks man, got a bit done this weekend, it should start coming together now what puppet is that!? Alp?
  21. When using the coryphee's switch with or place next to another coryphee or Cassandra within 18 do u have to declare that action then check if it's in or not? Came up because I had two options of who I could dance to, one definitely in and one really iffy whether it was 18 or not
  22. Ha I'l try, starting second coryphee today, keen to finish them and do something nice with the duet base
  23. ok finally got to the board again, nothing too exciting, i finished off all the ground level, what iv done is painted it all one colour then drawn on a brick/tile pattern with pencil and the with a permanent marker, i saw it drawn like this on some landscape plans. The design done in places just to give the impression rather than doin the entire surface. then i gave the whole lot a coat of varnish, i want the lowest level to look like water is leaking and has flooded it but only an inch or two deep, so you would be splashing about but not at risk of drowning. when i get to doin small detail there will b a lot of little pipes and some of the big ones with water flowing onto the floor. and this is the first cardboard raised section which iv detailed, that took ages and there are three more to do the same way hopefully i get quicker! with the barrels on it looks great but now i cant decide wether to stick them down or place em around each game! want to get some crates too so will wait till i have them then decide starting to see some progress cant wait to get to the middle section and detail up a big block
