  1. Hey all we are running another achievement league at Game Empire Pasadena in Pasadena Ca. The league kicked off this week and will run four weeks through February. Entry is $10 or free with a $20 purchase. Demo's are always available upon request and prizes will be awarded to top finishers. Mondays are the official Malifaux day every week but we tend to have players available at least 3 or 4 days a week. For more information please contact me or refer to the Game Empire facebook page.
  2. Hey all, we are still running our achievement league which is going strong but I wanted to take a day to run some demos for some more people that are coming into the game new. I will be available for demos from about 4pm until close at 11 on Monday. If you plan on coming in late however (let's say after 9pm) please just call the store and let someone know so I don't pack up early or start a league game. Thanks!
  3. Hey all, I just wanted to make an official post notifying everyone of the upcoming 8 week achievement league we are running at Game Empire Pasadena in Pasadena California. Starting Monday October 22nd and running for eight weeks we will be using Nix's Achievement League kit. Entry is either $10 or a $20 Malifaux purchase. Entry fee's will be distributed as prize support at the end of the league based on the number of participants. The league runs eight weeks but only your six top weeks will be counted meaning you can take a couple weeks off or ignore a couple bad weeks. This also gives some leeway for people to join the league late. League points are gained for everything from playing games to painting to flipping the black joker on a key flip. The format helps take the pressure off of win lose ratios and makes sure that people are rewarded for all aspects of gaming which will help level the playing field to make it new player friendly. We will be kicking off the league Monday the 22nd with a Malifaux demo day. I will be available Monday the 22nd from about 4pm onward to run demos, answer questions or just play games. We will be meeting weekly on Mondays but any games played at GEP during the course of the league will count so feel free to come down any time for games. If you have any questions you can contact me here or contact GEP. Game Empire's information is available at www.gameempirepasadena.com
  4. It's been a week has anything come out in a different thread that relates to this?
  5. I believe that when attacking a model at a higher elevation you add the models height into the calculation and that is why he can keep punching as the enemy climbs up the wall as long as the enemy does not get more than 3 inches (exactly) above him.
  6. Thanks Ratty, that helps a ton with the lure problem. Do you guys have a ruling on other pushes such as Toss Aside and the Dead Riders trigger?
  7. The player casting lure decides the pathing of the model. The player casting lure controls the movement of the model because it is his movement, he is just forcing an enemy model to do it, he does not however gain total control of the enemy model which is a seperate issue. Honestly with literal RAW translation of the rule there may be some grounds for your case but I have to believe that common sense would indicate that all of these rules which allow someone to cast a spell and cause an enemy model to move were designed with the casting models benefit in mind and as such they should have control. It wouldn't hurt to have a rules marshal chime in but until one does everyone I have played with and I are confident in the common sense application of the rules and honestly I feel there are much more confusing rules that need to be adressed.
  8. I dont think control passes at all I just think the model causing the movement action takes the movement action, whether it is on his own model or an enemies. If control passed completely than the luring models owner would be responsible for any damage flips associated with terrain effects and I believe that is not the case. The difference is between "controlling a models movement" and "you control the target" I think this is just a case of there is only one word to use for control and that has caused ambiguity.
  9. Ultimately the control of the action is assumed to be in the hands of the person causing the effect unless otherwise stated. The Belle casts lure, a spell which causes a push, that push is the result of the belles action, not the result of the model being pushed choosing a movement action, and as such would be controlled by the belles controller.
  10. Control simply states that "The player currently in control of a model makes decisions for that model." I would think since the push is caused by another model, the model causing the push would be the model making the decision and as such the controller of that model would make the decision. If you are thrown, you didn't decide to be thrown another model chose to throw you. I don't think it necessarily means the other play has taken control of your model.
  11. Armor is different than armor. Armor is a specific game term and as such things that look like armor, act like armor or rhyme with armor are completely different. While bulletproof, object, evasive etc have similar rules the Cut Away only refers to Armor and so everything else is unaffected. That being said, any Armor would be lowered, including I believe temporary or even Joss's because Cut Away doesn't ignore Armor it merely lowers it.
  12. Haha I figured it was something like that I just wanted to make sure. So the common beliefs seem to be: 1) You can't walk off the edge because there is nothing out there 2) Death Marshals CANNOT ever be sacrificed and so once they hit the board they stay there until they pass their rally test 3) Immaterial because Death Marshals cannot be sacrificed
