  1. Well its been sometime since ive got anything done, but over the holidays I managed to get another three crews painted. I tried to do some research on Ferdinand Von Schill and the Prussian Freikorps to try to do a similar paint scheme to their military uniforms. Also, all pics were taken using my new light box, cobbled together from stuff I found around my apartment. A few more pics at my blog below, with links to more pics of each crew.
  2. redben, use the collar that has no hole in the middle. If its anything like my GaleForce9 pin drill, thats the collar for the smaller bit. Also be very careful with the pressure, too much and any off axis movement you make will snap it.
  3. imp, I am also of strong opinion that a block cycle would do more harm than good for Wyrd. Too many hours of hard work go into painting up a crew proper to have it useless after a book or two. Clix figs or Magic cards require the time it takes to get them out of the box or wrapper to be ready. No real investment required after the fact. GW is losing a lot of ground, I think, in part because of their codex cycling, power creep, and unit obsolescence. After 10 years PP is stronger than ever, and all their units are more or less like theyve always been, and still present in the rules. I can see new strategies and schemes cycling in and out, but I cant see the figs doing the same. People will keep buying Wyrd's stuff if we're given the illusion that we want to buy it, not because we HAVE to. :happypuppet1 As for a new faction, I dont think there will be one. I think they planned out the factions pretty well, and unless the Tyrants get their own faction, I cant think of any reason to add a 6th. I hope there will be new masters down the road, but im fine with the current 20. Im sure book 4 will be all about special forces and henchmen. I think they will be the key to diversity. Im sure Wyrd has been thinking about what Malifaux's direction is for several years ahead. Just trust them. They have been doing pretty awesome the past two years if you ask me. Also, a prediction on henchmen: there will be rules to make any minion a henchmen(take a look at the ronin's drifter rule), making tons more crew leaders.
  4. Ive been pretty busy since my last post, so here I present new things! " Lord Chompy Bits Ronin 1 Ronin 2 Ronin 3 Viktorias & Crew My Viktorias crew, minus the ronins, were painted beforem but never got pictures up. Next up is most likely friends for Chompy.
  5. I use Fellowes self laminating sheets. I only laminate the face side so I can mark wounds, and get 5 cards on a sheet. Keeps them thin and I can fit 40+ cards in the battlefoam pocket. Still vulnerable to spills so not really the most protective.
  6. Also painted up a Ramos crew for my brother-in-law.
  7. I posted about a month ago with my showgirls crew here: http://wyrd-games.net/forum/showthread.php?t=20827. I decided rather than a new post every crew, I'll just put it all in one post. Anyways, put them on their bases and dullcoted. Pretty happy how they came out. Check my blog for more pics of individual models.
  8. I used 'Ardcoat on them first for durability. This is the first batch of models I've been satisfied with being completly done and ready to be sealed, so I don't have dullcote around yet. Also, I was planning on dullcoting when they were fully attached to their real bases (they are just pictured on handling bases) The 4 Coryphees are because the modular base I was going for wasn't working quite right. I decided it was easier just to make the duet and the 2 singles on their own bases. At some point I will probably get doves, but I have other crews and Warmahordes to get up to tabletop standards first.
  9. Finally got to my showgirls that have sitting around since Gencon. The bases have been ready for awhile, just need to prep the models for being pinned to them. A few more pics on my blog below
  10. Well, I am working on a graphic novel styled webcomic set in Malifaux. My own characters and all, but still in Malifaux. Hopefully after my artist/future-brother-in-law's upcoming wedding, we can get back on track.
  11. Well I built all of mine from Starbucks coffee stirs, but if you want to go the easier route there are at least 2 companies with floorboard bases: Fiendish Fabrications http://www.fiendishfabrications.com.au/html/solid_earth_bases.html Back 2 Base-ix http://back2base-ix.com/index.php?_a=viewProd&productId=41 And if you want easy, but not buy bases everytime, there is a basing stamp from Happy Seppuku http://happyseppukumodelworks.bigcartel.com/ Hope that helps
  12. I personally think this is a bad idea. Sure, it would be easier to get into without the miniatures, but it then would be more like a board game instead of a miniatures game. The assembling and painting is as much of the hobby as the playing, and should be preserved as such.
