So for her would you recommend several shades of yellow washes? Going from very dark to light? Then touch up with highlights? If you do this do you just apply them in layers, going farther up the model a little each time? (Does that make sense?) Or would you do one dark layer wash then highlight? I did one sort of light black wash, well I guess it would of been more of a glaze? Glaze being over the whole model, washes being more area specific (is that a correct definition?) Then I tried to do some highlighting over that. I do appreciate the advice, you can only get so much from books and articles!

Thanks for the tips, I will keep that in mind as I finish working on her. No I don't have a cat, why do you ask? I was using a newspaper when I was doing my drybrushing, I would get the paint on the brush then rub the brush on the newspaper to rub it off and it started falling apart. Then ended up with little pieces of paper all over her. :/ I've used newspaper in the past and didn't have as much of a problem with the pieces, maybe it is the detail of these models vs. GW. It's hard to see with the naked eye, but once I started looking at these pictures I really noticed it.

Thanks for the critique, reading through it again I do bounce around quite a bit. I really need to fix that in future posts. Yea, I suppose I should of said that, in the sig there is no space. How do I preview the signature? All I can see is the submit.. Maybe I am editing it in the wrong spot? The only place I can see I have to click on 'Home' at the stop the my account settings, then I go under the edit tag.

How do you all get the pictures of the masters in your signature?

Reading how you mention to beat a power ritual brought up another question I had. A models ability to stop their movement and make a strike move then continue their movement, does that strike move cost an AP or is it part of the (0) point ability? Or does the (0) point ability just allow the model to stop, spend an AP to make a strike, then continue?

Thank you for your responses. @MrNybbles: So would the idea be to make the duet one turn one? From what you were saying it would seem dangerous to leave them running around solo for too long. Does only having three models really hamper you ability to deal with objectives? Or does the quickness of Cassy and the duet help deal with that? Disclaimer: I know to really figure a lot of this stuff out I just need to play some games, I am just trying to get a basic idea for how my crew is suppose to work so I know what I need to be trying to do.

I have just started getting my toes wet with Malifaux ( and really love the game / minis / fluff so far). I picked up the showgirl box a box of the mechanical doves and a coryphee. Since Malifaux is new in my area/club (my and a few of my friends being the first to pick up any models) we currently run 25ss and will probably be stuck at that level for a bit while people figure out the game and decide how much they want to invest into it. I have been doing a lot of reading around about Colette a crew (including the tactica, well most of the tactica) and have a couple of questions about a 25ss list. First it seems at this level two performers are not ideal, they have their strengths but when you start looking at the coryphee card it seems they would be a great asset. But looking at it I would think you would want to take two so you can do the duet, at that point (if I am remembering ss cost right) you have to drop both performers. Is it worth it? Or is it worth dropping one showgirl for a coryphee? Like I said I am really new to the game, have only played a couple of games. It is just something I have been thinking about. Any advice would be not only welcome but appreciated!

Hayzel: I went with Showgirls And on that note I got a Coryphee blister and I only got a card for the blue Croyphee and the Coryphee Duet. Is that what is suppose to be in there? Or should I have also gotten a card for the pink low Coryphee also? If so what should I do?

I don't currently play Malifaux; however my first order of minis and all of the rulebooks are showing up today! I have been poking around here on the forums and watching what videos/battle reports I can find to help me get a grasp of the rules and so far I think this game looks very awesome. You also seem to have a good community here so I just wanted to stop by and say "Hello!". I don't know of anyone in my area (Grand Junction Colorado) but it looks like along with myself 3 of my other friends are picking it up. So hopefully we can start a movement around here!
