  1. Thank for the feedback everyone.  Appreciate the comments about the food, agree with what you've all said above, it was also my thinking.  Catering arrangements were a cause of stress for me for the entire weekend, but to some degree out of our control (like pizzas turning up 30 minute before we'd asked for them).

  2. If you're bringing tables and terrain for the tournament (and a huge thanks for those that are, we do need both tables and terrain help), and you're around Friday evening, the Folk Hall will be open from around 1900 in order for people to be able to drop off and setup their tables and terrain.  We should be there for at least an hour or so getting things prepped so there is time to drop stuff off if you need it.

What time will the hall be open on Saturday for table set up?

    From 0800 tomorrow

  3. Ok, my thoughts are starting to turn to Vappa now the GT is in sight.

26 places sold now, so still loads of places yet.  If people are planning on coming then I'd very much appreciate you buying your tickets for the event sooner rather than later so I can let the Vappa show orgainzers know how much space I'm going to need.

  4. Hi,

    I will be staying at:
    Crossways Guest House
    23 Wigginton Road

It is possible for me to walk to the venue or something similar.

But I am wondering if there is someone else staying there or close to there with a car that I can hitch a ride with.

    /Best Pi

Youre probably about 30 minute walk away from the venue there I would think.

  6. Fair. Any chance the locals could provide a list of places that would deliver though?

Unfortunately, you can't bring your own food into the Folk Hall, you'll have to go out and eat it.  There's Tesco/KFC/BK/McD/Chiquito/Frankie and Benny/Harvester/Beefeater/Bella Italia/pub all within 5 minutes drive.

On the Saturday evening a LIGHT buffet will be provided, I say again LIGHT buffet so if you want a massive feed then you might want to consider one of the other options.  Basically, if we wanted the bar open we had to have catering due to the terms of the license the hall has.

  7. Im starting a Shifting Loyalties campaign  next week to run through until December.  This will tie into the Nythera worldwide campaign.  It will take place on Wednesday nights, 1830 onwards, at York Garrison wargaming club.  Event will be run as a competitive scoring league.
