  1. The camera-soul-stealing craziness would be right at home with a Showgirls crew, think paparazzi!

  3. Ok, got it. There might actually be a few more than 4 of us coming depending on work schedules. I've got 6 saying they're going to try to make it right now.
  4. Those of us coming up from Toledo were wondering what the painting requirements are?

  6. I've had great success using a Facebook group and Google docs for our local playgroup, and Google calendar is useful too.
  7. Trying to get a few people from Toledo to drive up with me, might have 2-4 of us coming.
  8. This is my usual "all comers" Viktorias list. Taelor is Johan's big sister, and is much better in my opinion. If you MUST stand back and shoot, Ronin aren't awful, just make sure you shoot with them after you've whittled down your opponent's hand to even the odds. The gunslinger's rapid fire can help this along. Outcasts Crew - 35 - Scrap Viktoria -- 5 Pool Convict Gunslinger [5ss] Freikorps Librarian [7ss] Ronin [5ss] Ronin [5ss] Taelor [8ss]
  9. +1 on the Essence of Power. I find Snowstorm + 2x Gamin and Rasputina + 2x Silent Ones makes for two "units" that fill two different roles. You can zip around the table with Snowstorm and the Gamin to grab objectives or intercept models trying to engage Rasputina, and blast away with your Rasputina/Silent One fire base. Getting your Gamin into melee and then casting into melee isn't that much of a headache either, there has been many times I've blown up my own Gamin to get their shatter damage to finish off enemy models.
  10. The Ortegas and Lilith are very straightforward crews, easy to learn but still great and able to expand upon.
  11. I can't wait to paint/field the man in black..
  12. Neverborn Crew - 35 - Scrap Pandora -- 5 Pool + Pandora, Avatars of Insanity & Candy [2ss] Doppelganger [8ss] Insidious Madness [4ss] Insidious Madness [4ss] Lilitu [7ss] Stitched Together [5ss] Stitched Together [5ss] I've lost once with this crew in a pretty competitive local group of players, to the point where I don't even play it in friendly games any more. Before the avatars I just used a Primordial Magic in the place of the Avatar of Insanity. There are a lot of shennanigans you can pull with this list, and outside of Lilitu, target priority becomes a huge issue to your opponent since there are many equal threats on the table. Sometimes I switch the Doppelganger + Insidious Madness out for a Teddy + Sorrow if I'm feeling frisky or my opponent is playing a faster crew. Five soulstones seems low for Pandora, which I used to agree with, but this list has always worked wonders for me!
  13. Looks like a solid Hoffman crew, just a couple points: - I like the mechanical attendant if running Ryle and a Peacekeeper since you can keep the peacekeeper near Hoffman to ignore his negative abilities, and the attendant by Ryle to ignore his. The attendant + Ryle can put a lot of lead downrange when working together also. - Two watchers are better than one! They're a very mobile objective grabbing unit in an otherwise slower/clumped together crew. Remember, you can hire constructs out of faction, and there's a LOT of great Arcanist constructs to select from too!
  14. I take a different approach to Lady J: Lady Justice Lucius Drill Sergeant 3x Guild Guard 2x Austringer There are A LOT of great interactions in this list: - Lucius can slingshot Lady J into combat very early in the game. - Lady J's inspiring swordplay + Lucius's advanced training can give your Austringers three 12" shots at CB11 during Lucius's activation and two more shots during their activation at CB9. Coupled with the Drill Sergeant's shooting range ability this becomes fantastic. - Guild Guards are awesome on their own, again, inspiring swordplay/shooting range/etc.. makes their Guard Pistols hit a lot harder since they already have a +flip on damage. They're not too shabby in melee either. - If you need to alpha strike, you can shoot via Lucius, then Deliver Orders between two Austringers and a Guild Guard to drop a model that's threatening you quickly.
  15. she was my first master here also.
  16. Toledo, OH area: Nothing banned, no house rules.
  17. Lucius by himself is great. Pairing him with Lady J and a mob of Guards and Austringers can make for some devastating alpha strike turns.
  18. League is three weeks away, please post your faction and contact information here: http://www.facebook.com/groups/118344641581827/doc/155568037859487/ There is a sign up sheet @ The Game Room, please put your name down when you go in to pay and have whoever's working denote that you've paid. We're going to stick with $15 per player, three month league. Here's the tentative prize breakdown: Fall of Malifaux Champion (1st Overall) Beauty and the Breach Award (Best Painted) Twisted Fate Award (Player that finishes exactly in the center.) Two Random Prizes Top Arcanist Top Ressurrectionist Top Guild Top Outcast Top Neverborn You're only eligible for one prize, so whoever wins 1st overall won't also win the top of their faction award. At the beginning of each round, I'll send out that round's encounter/strategy via Facebook and email.
  19. I never play Kirai without a librarian, they're a fantastic combo. Turn one if you have the cards turn her into a spirit with the lost love and enjoy.
  20. Glad you guys had a good time! We're allowing Avatar proxies for those masters that haven't been released yet in the spirit of fairness and to encourage players to play the master they want, instead of only the ones that have been released.
  21. This will be the last of our summer tournament series before the league starts in the Fall. Saturday, September 24th, 2011 Registration will start at 10:00AM, first round starts at 11:00AM. 90 minute rounds. 35 Soulstones Single Faction $5.00 Entry Random core strategies, unique schemes. 22. The model pool I use for Kirai is the following, and I've never been left wanting: Kirai Lost Love Datsue Bah Ikiryo Friekorps Librarian (Never leave home without her.) 2x Shikome 5x Seishen 4x Onryo 2x Gaki 2x Insidius Madness 2x Nurse I've thought about using Snowstorm, and will be picking up some Night Terrors shortly.
  23. I usually demo with Lady Justice w/Guild Guards and Rasputina. You get to see ranged, melee, and casting all in a couple turns, along with easy to explain and use triggers and abilities. They're both very straightforward and devastating, allowing the demo players to catch on quickly, and have fun at the same time.

    Ortega addition

A watcher is also a great addition to any guild list, especially Perdita. The ability to light targets with a shooting crew is great, and being able to sneek a peek and move the top two cards of your deck before a hero's gamble is also extremely useful. They're pretty cheap and mobile to boot. edit: I don't know if I agree with replacing Papa Loco, he can be devastating in some situations. But I 100% agree with dropping Francisco, I wouldn't hesitate about that.
  25. Yeah they made it, Frank and Troy (see above). Next month will be the last of the (monthly) tournaments for the summer before we go into the Fall league.
