  1. I am playing Lucius as a henchman and lady j as the master in a league at my lgs. My list is... Lady J- +5ss Lucius- 10 Nino- 7 Austringer- 5 Guild Guard x3- 12 I have not won all my games but he is more than viable. Guild Guards are awesome in pretty much all situations and you should not underestimate them. + flip to damage with pistol, crit hit with sword at cb 6 and armor one is nothing to scoff at. I think your doing what I did when I first started which was to rely entirely too much on my austringer. they are nice but far too often don't do enough damage to matter. Lucius himself is a magnificent tarpiter. I was playing dreamer the other day and after my Guild guards took down LCB in a turn it was time to go work on strat and schemes. Lucius got into combat with a copalius and two nightmares and went into full defense mode at one hit point. the neg twist from governors authority made them unable to cheat and with my +2 flip to defense Lucius went three turns until the end of the game without getting hit once(turn 8 btw). in the meantime I just went along to finish my schemes. Lost 6 to 4 but hell of a game! My point is that Lucius can get the job done, you just need to play it smart and not discount valuable members of your team.
  2. I use three guild guards in my main LadyJ/Lucius army and love them! they get a positive flip to damage with their guard pistol and crit strike with their swords in melee. Also as stated above, the armor 1 really helps them stick it out for the long haul. Lucius has an ability to order guardsmen or elite division models to either take a move action or a strike and with casting focus that means you could either walk a guardsman 12 inches, take three attacks (either crit strike melee or positive flip ranged), or any variation there of. Yes please! A few of them are easily able to hold up an opponent long enough to get the heavy hitters in or for getting objectives. All around great unit for only 4 soul stones. Hope this helps!
  3. Might pull one of the people in sideboard and replace them with another austringer but other then that im not sure who else would work well. Why do you say death marshalls other than the ability to box ladyj to get her into combat quicker?
  4. A Malifaux League is starting up next monday at my lgs and have just come up with my prelim list. The format is 35pt games with a 15pt sideboard. Lady Justice Lucius- 10 Guard Captain- 7 Austringer- 5 Guild Guard x3- 12 Sideboard: Lawyer- 7 Ryle- 8 Was thinking of bringing in the drill sergeant to link with guard captain but I've found him to be less useful and than I had hoped. Thoughts?

Can you explain how the antimagic field with the witchling stalkers works? so far thinking ill go with sonnia as well but havent looked at the model and havent got the book yet just been borrowing from friends when we play any specifics about her you could offer? Now that I have a few games under my belt I feel like I'm really starting to get the feel for Lucius and his crew but my biggest challenge will be against Pandora and her thousand cuts of stupidness... Any ideas on how to beat her? So far my plan is to take Ryle since he's immune to things that make you make wp duels and maybe the lawyer to censor her spell casting. Thoughts?
  7. So I just played my first real game after buying the Lucius box set, guild guard box, and an austringer. It ended in a tie sadly (though could have gone worse I suppose) but the point is that I saw a possible synergy that I overlooked before during my research. When Lucius successfully lands a hit he has the ability to, for a ram, to make that defender not able to attack him with any attacks. (not sure if its for the rest of the turn or rest of the game but still nice) Now mix that with the Lawyer's Censure spell to stop annoying spells and you can effectively lock down your opponent while you beat them to death in melee. Also cast defense on everyone with the lawyer's and they will be tanking machines. (also not sure on the diration with defense spell) If you take Lucius as a master you can front line him with his guild guard captain and the drill sergeant for an effective hurt that your opponent will not expect from a shooty army. If you take Lady J as the master and Lucius as hench the pain doubles... Your austringers and guild guards can run support or work on missions while the rest keeps the hurt on. Thoughts?
  8. Alright so going to pick up Lucius box soon and it will be my first army. Let me know what you think or what I should change and let it be known that I am not opposed to being cheap, in fact I prefer it if it gets me a W. Concept is pretty much to have a firing line pelt them and then send lady j in to clean up the mess/pull some aggro away from my more squishy guardsmen.   10. So I just picked up my first Austringer and was really excited to get painting when I discovered that the way you mount the bird makes it very prone to breaking off. Has anyone made one already with a secure way to mount it that could share their wisdom? Thanks!
