  3. I am embarassed to say how much I spent on my Resurrectionist force.... .needless to say I have every Resser model except Kirai & crew. :dead::thumb:
  4. I'm playing on a Challenge Board at my LGS. there are currently 6 players, 3 of which are Guild (other 3 are Ressers, Neverborn, and Arcanists) and of those 3, 2 are Lady J. I chose Resurrectionists because I like Nicodem's model a lot and I totally plan to paint him up like Prince but I think 1 reason some people stray from picking up the Ressers is that they have such a wide variety to choose from to raise (depending on who you choose) that the model count can skyrocket.

  9. Before, the dog generated counters freely. Now it works pretty much like Nicodem's Vulture where it has to be near a corpse counter to "warp" it back to McMourning.
  10. With the new changes to the Chiahuahua,the Gravespirit trumps it totally. That cute little dog just isn't worth the point anymore. Grave Spirit has much more potential and use. I've tried sub'ing in Mortimer because I thought I would have a better chance at producing corpse counters but the 2 games I had him, I had horrible flips so he didn't accomplish much, if anything. I plan to give him 1 mroe go and see if he can redeem himself.
  11. Yea, I can see the Avatars being like PP's Epic Masters. Would kind of make sense from a rules perspective so Wyrd dev team doesn't have to not only balance out the Avatars with eachother and other masters but if they made the Avatars as like mid-game upgrades, they would then have to work to ensure balance on the upgrade conditions. That's a lot of work that can be reduced by just making them "Epic", so to speak. Course, if I had a choice, I'd like to see them as mid-game upgrades because I'd hate to see the normal Masters become obsolete if one can just take the super version.
  12. I like to transfer at least 2-3 SS into body part counters then kill a dog or two first turn with Dissect and/or Scalpel Strike then use the body counter(s) to summon a Rogue Necromancy. Let him run as the blunt of your force while picking your targets while the opponent deals with that monster. By the time it dies, you should have enough (or enough if you claim the RN's counters) to summon another. I like to run in addition, a Hanged and a Belle. The Hanged's ability to remove half of a figure's wounds in 1 go should cause for some alarm in your opponent. The Belle helps suck people into charge lanes and/or out of position and ripe for picking. Use that in conjunction with The Hanged's ability to do just about the same and you can suck a model pretty far

  14. I love it for the same reasons mentioned above. It's a huge distraction because if your opponent doesn't deal with it, it will deal with them! The thing is pure MURDER if it starts it's activation in melee range of a poor soul. Never pay SS for it though. Always summon. You'll save atleast 50% of it's cost that way. Course those I play absolutely hate the thing. More so because by the time they finally bring it down, I've gathered up enough body part counters to summon another and start the process all over again. A trick I use when it's really low on HP is use McMournings scalpel throw on it to push him into btb contact with it and when it dies due to damage, pick up all those juicy counters and re-summon!

  16. I don't think we were bamboozled. My previous grievance was with the V2 cards which have now been fixed via the card redemption/pdf. Everything else now is just gravy! Having the correct figure rules was huge. But the rules book will come. I'm sure we'll get the "soon" timeframe but the fact that it was announced and even has cover artwork and such should mean that it's pretty darned close to shipping.
  17. That's kind of what we do in my group. We write our secret schemes on dry-erase tokens and put them under a cup or similar object, to the side and reveal them at the end.
  18. Only way I can see stopping people from stacking in a tourney setting is to increase the entry fee to cover new decks, provided by the tourney provider. Make these new decks tourney specific somehow (be they Bicycle decks or what have you) so that players cannot take them back to their respective tables and slip a few cards in & out that they may have prepared.
  19. Please forgive me if this is discussed somewhere else. I couldn't find any relevant threads that were recent. Any word on when or even IF these are going to be released? I was super excited when I first saw them and now they seem to have fallen off the grid.
  20. Because "Early 2011" is so vague that it could essentially be released in May and still fall in that "Early 2011". Q1 or Q2 would at least narrow it down to 3 months.
  21. And it appears it will remain that way as the only time table we keep getting is "Soon". If I hear that word one more time, I'm going to puke! lol.
  22. SO from what I've heard, no card stats will be in this book. When/where will the updated version of the cards be located? When will we be able to redeem our old cards for the newer versions?
