  1. Hmmz reading all of this im seeing to famous ways of playing Nico, on one end the K9 remains are used to summon up the rest of the army, on the other hand people start out with some remains and some deaders allready, so im thinking of maybe the following: Nico Mort Crooked men 3x Canine Remains 2x This would as far as I read you guys be a good defence due to the Crooked men with the Canine's and Mort delivering CC's for taking Punk Zombies to the field.
  2. Hmmm I wonder how much of an inpedamant Seb's Body Part mechanism will be, an other option would still be using Killjoy. So that would be Nic Vulture Mortimer 2x Canine Remains Killjoy As far as I understand (without a rulebook *yet*) the key abilites are following: Canine Remains run across table, damage or kill something with luck and die to give a corpse token each, the Vulture can "Channel" spells for Nicodemus so would be able to use the summoning spells to make Punk Zombies out of the Corpse Counters of the K9 for a punchline. Morty at the same time could use his corpse making abilites to generate corpses for for instance Crooked Men as ranged attackers and Mindless Zombies to wall Nico off from enemy charges.
  3. So whats the difference between body parts and whole corpse tokens? Do casualties create one of the both or?
  4. Hmmz, well as said, i'd rather have some more Zombie Flavoured things running amok. Sebastian is a rather nice model dunno however if the model itself works in combi with Nico?
  5. It's one of those times that you are truly noobish again...Giddy like a schoolgirl yet oh so nervous to make the wrong purchases... So lets just start this off gentle, I just bought the Nico Box, books are backordered though so I have to wait for that one... Skimming some posts I am looking into a kind of themed force. My first idea (based on general opinion so it seems) for a list would be the following: Nico Mortimer Vulture 3x Canine Remains The Hanged Only thing I'd rather have switched out was the Hanged for a more fleshy zombie like thing to get a real shambling horde thing going. Also I wonder if any other Unique Minions would help that aspect along like Sebastian. So any advice is welcome!
  6. So just got meself a Nico starter (which ironically came in before the actual rulebook) and want to expand to a nice 25 pointer. The Samurai Zombies in the box are good summoning materials, 2 sets of K-9's for a total of 8 points and Mortimer for another 7. A Vulture is a good extra. A Flesh Construct and 3 Mindless zombies are good summoning meat also. Im wondering thou what to put in besides, I know miss Noire is a solid thing but I want to keep the Fleshy zombie theme. Killjoy would offcourse be an option but I have no idea thou.if they have any synergy together. So someone make me a shopping list worthy of Saint Nic
  7. Complexity, lots of rules...Check 'n check. Think thats a nice bonus...The fact that 5/7 models can make such an interesting game. Well as long as the assembly of mini's goes without to much trouble I think we got a jewel .
  8. I loved Confrontation's Metals, but not their metal...my experience with some of their models (I believe it where the elves) where downright scary! Man did they have small joints and soft metal! Owwel the 30MM range should fix some offcourse, as their size is larger most of the joints and such are probably more robust. Even though I hear that the Steamborg is a hell of a job to get together even he looks fair to me...
  9. Seems that is something people tend to disagree over, Im not a "pinner" per se, however I never needed. to. Carefull carriage has helped me trough so far . And as long as I dont have to fill 'Uge gaps and such I'll hopefully be fine.
  10. Good to hear! Looking forward to it . Me and a friend of mine looked at the mini's and then at eachother, went back to our work desktops and mailed a shopping list an hour or such later . I bought The Undertakers Lot and The Hag first thought just for the mini's...Then well...We bought the books to go with it and the decks and well yeh... Looking forward to it allready!
  11. Being an avid mini's gamer and Roleplayer I was instantly attracted to the characterfull mini's of Malifaux whereas the small scale doesnt drain my Warmachine/Hordes "big tabletop game" budget. My only concern is that they might require more modelling skill then just a good glue job and mabe some liquid plastic putty to even out small gaps (but that is for another topic). What I like to know from you guys is what makes you play Malifaux, I mean game mechanics, fluff, mini's. Everything. Sell me the game . (Allready ordered lots of stuff but just out of curiousity).
  12. So to make a full post out of this, how do you guys think about the mini's. All of them have lots of character and persona for sure, however how would you guys rate quality? This includes Assembly, mold lines, detail etc. compared to other miniature lines? Please do keep in mind that we are trying to compare them to other "Character" mini's...So no use comparing a human sized model to a Privateer Press big and brutish Steamjack or Warbeast.
  13. Aah cool, so how about gamewise? What does it do ? In general that is... Oh and how would you guys rate the mini's? Im a gamer but not much of a modeller, so gap filling minimally etc. More trouble then the british decadent Gaming Wetwork? Or my dear friends over at Privateer?
  14. So can I get a receit with that? Haha nah, based on the Gremlins I was thinking if they are well "from earth" or just from Malifaux itself. Another Question that pops up though... What are totems?
  15. So here I am again, this time in general forum for some game info (cant wait till my order gets shipped). So Im going to fire away some random questions concerning the game, fluff, etc etc. -First Question is something I was thinking of during the reading of the Chronicles Vol. III. Who (or what) are the Gremlins? I understand they are the Goblins of Malifaux but, is there any background given on them? Are they mutated humans? Are they native to Malifaux? Did they come from earth and have been with humanity for history memorable? -Second question concerning Factions and Masters. There are 5 factions with a multitude of Masters. I wonder though is there a theme to every faction (except for offcourse Nightmarish creatures vs Steampunk vs Cowboys etc.) I mean, are their signature things specific to a faction or is playstyle and such only related to the Master you are using? -Third Question about books. So what do new books hold? New Rules? New Scenario's? New Mini's? -Fourth and final question. Can someone make the waiting stop? (probably looking at 3+ weeks before stuff comes in).
  16. Well here I am, first time posting and just ordered over 200,- euro's worth of Malifaux. Me and a friend of mine liked the mini's and the "smaller then average" size of army collections. So I settled on a "The Hag" box. I must warn you I only know of the basic Mechanics yet so Im not really sure whats what, but I hear that the Hag's box could atleast use a Vodoo Doll. I wonder though (in laymens terms) is Bad JuJu not the right model for her Crew? I know there's a complete tactica on the forums but being a complete noob as I am atm. I hope someone can give me some hints and pointers without getting to technical *yet*. Thanks!
