Additionally, get copies of the Core Player's Guide and Fate Master's Guide so you can keep your exclusive printing pristine. Note in addition to the listed and all the stretch goals the original kit came with a 10thunders misaiki crew and my understanding is the hard bound book is coming with an additional fate deck. Models and decks and the hardcover book is all shiny new and unopened. Please note wyrd has sent out tracking numbers but its not out just yet so cant mail it until then. Tosh and mccabe is amazing. The last moment beta nurf actualy managed to make mccabe even more powerful when he brings tosh. Reactivate+nimble+fast+sabre = slaughter.

Orian hate will continue as the units are crap. Sorry but its true. Both of you go just pointed out the only thing they have going for them lure. They have nothing but a second rate lure at that.

Going on myself atm. For me its Malifaux tho. Between the loss of play group due to m2e and slow growth back. Malifaux has mostly just left me frustrated any more. Been playing a lot of netrunner and X-wing these days.

Lure does plenty of damage its called pounce. That being said its not about doing damage. It is one of the most powerful counter objective spells in the entire game. And the 5ss model is the best in the entire game at it. Malifaux is not about killing things most games. it about objectives and this model is amazing in that capacity.

Part of the problem, and its a small but significant part, is that once a model is printed for a particular ss cost it tends to skew what that ss cost can do and is worth. In this game system there is no objective, default rubric we can point to and say "this! This is THE definitive 5 point model!" We've even all seen how that works in effect, look at all the book 1 models that were fine when they were in their own little pond, but as soon as book 2 got printed the best models in that book redefined what a particular ss cost model was. We are even seeing it in the current edition in the Samurai. On paper Samurai are amazing for their cost to my eyes, but in effectiveness... What is the almost universal comment that comes up when the Samurai is discussed, "samurai are ok,... But they're kind of crap because for less cost I can get an Illuminated who are amazing" I hear a variant of that comment all the time, which means that the Illuminated is redefining what the expected ss cost of a model is. This is valid but I have fiddled with your example a lot recently. It is not just Illuminated there are a number of models that are same cost or cheaper that are flat out better. When its 1 model you have to look at that model case in point Belles. When its I can find 4 models i would take just about every time then you look at the model and well well go "But they're kind of crap because for less cost" i can get ......

Wow 2 people actualy defended belles by saying how good orion are. That right there is some funny stuff.

I will take a model that does one thing well over a model that does a lot of stuff half assed any day of the week.

No one ever said they are all powerful. The issue is the first model that sticks its head out gets chain lure to a death trap. They are low cost, spamable, and can even hit crap for free when they get there. Honestly I cant imagine any one thinking they are any thing less then one of the best 5ss model in the game. The only real question is do they go over the line and simply play 2 good. I would put money on it you would see them with a LOT of play even if they all cost 1 higher because they are that good. This issue has come up more then once for a reason.

I am not saying its a good plan I am saying that the argument they lack ranged is false. The whole point of taking a merc is to hire an option out side of the norm. I am saying if they want range they can have it. Just like every one else. People dicount mercs in this game. They can prove to be very useful.

I think the idea that ressers only get such a good lure is due to lacking range attack is flawed. Simple fact there is some very sexy merc range attack options available to them makes that a non point imho. If you think its potent hire mercs and bring the hand cannon. Problem lacking range is solved. Ya they pay an extra 2 stones but its a valid tactic and even with limited range they are brutal as hell. If there cast is not broken lets let the very sub par orian have the same cast with suits. There is no way in hell wyrd is going to give it to the 10t orian why let it fly on the better model in ressers. The hookers would still be more durable and have the hit on trigger.

While I dont think it will get changed I encourage you to make the good fight. We got told chomp was fine for a long time and finaly it sunk in that hey this guys freaking crazy back in 1.5. No offense but just because wyrd says some thing does not make it so. They are human anc can make a mistake. As a company they want to set the hard line and say no this is printed and we dont want to go in and make a million changes. Truth is if some thing is broken it will continue to come up over and over and over and eventualy they will have to crack for the good of the game. Not saying this is that case. I think it should be but meh im not paid to make the game.

I could not agree more. They are way 2 good for the cost. I dont think any thing is going to change as this was brought up in beta multiple times.
