  1. How dare you malign the greatest decade in recent memory! Granted ... Avengers looks pretty great, but the cast hardly causes rolling blackouts and mysterious mass impregnation ... well ... Samuel L. Jackson, maybe.
  2. This much legendary 1980's/90's action movie star power in one place will tear a hole in space-time. Mark my words.
  3. The combined force of their baditude would tear you to shreds, Chocobo.
  4. Predictions? Great movie? Or GREATEST move?
  5. Not as many as I'd like. I was up to three a week in September, but I've just been so busy.
  6. Bah! I love me some electricity! Reminds me of the day I was born ... Oh crap! *tries to dive under the water, only to find it less than 6" deep*
  7. I always hang out at the bottom of wells, by the way. It's a major source of income for me.
  8. *hooks Chocobo to a car battery and melts him like a stick of butter* This is fun!
  9. Thanks! *stomps Regnak into a gooey paste* ... He'll be fine. Yay! *punches a hole in the side of the keg and bathes in it* Woo! *pauses* *empties last few droplets onto the ground, his face solemn* ... for my homey, who was recently stomped into paste. Gone, but not forgotten.
  10. What's that? Oh, you mean these ... *strikes a pose* HENCHMAN ON DECK! Don't mind me, ladies. I'm just gettin' my hench on. Y'know ... henchin' it up. Sense of responsibility: Overwhelming. How do we do it? How do we handle the terrible burden? One day at a time, people. One day at a time.
  11. Also, their post count never increases. And they have no reflection. Shoot them with silver, kill them with fire.
  12. I'd create a sticky. I mean, no one will read it, but at least it'd give the rest of us something to link to when the question arises.
  13. Yeah, yeah. I've heard the propaganda. I just don't believe it. Honestly, yes, it IS stronger than ever, if only thanks to the prevalence of gaming in general, but it's still far weaker than the console market and becoming less relevant by the day. I've been on the front line of PC gaming since I was 8 years old. I'm sitting in front of many thousands of dollars of hardware, monitors and audio. Believe me, I'd love nothing more than for my platform of choice to be a burgeoning mecca of possibilities. Unless you honestly believe that casual gaming and the indy market are the future of video games, the PC is in trouble. Maybe I'm just old fashioned, but I want big ticket titles that take advantage of my $500 video card. I really dig games like Meatboy and Binding of Isaac and Minecraft and whatnot, but what we need are more titles like Battlefield 3, games that really tax the hardware. They're becoming more rare each year. Just look at Crytek. They were at the forefront of pushing the tech with Crysis, and proud of it. Then they release Crysis 2. Obviously, their priorities have changed. Hell, even dedicated servers feel like a blessing, these days. PC gaming will never die, but it's changing. I simply don't like the new direction. If AAA is moving to consoles, I guess I have no choice but to move along with it.
  14. This. I've been a hardcore PC gamer 4 life, but I can see the end is drawing nigh. Developers are abandoning ship left, right and center. Previous champions of the platform have defected, focusing on the console market. Not that I blame them. That's where the $$$ is. The majority of AAA games are ports. Big ticket games enjoy a massive release for the consoles and maybe a month later, under cover of night, they turd out a PC port with quick and dirty mouse/keyboard controls and maybe some minor graphical improvements. Sure, I may have 5x the computing and graphical power, but if no developer builds a game to take advantage ...? And when a dev DOES build a PC exclusive, it's usually over-pirated, under-appreciated and suffers in sales compared to a console exlusive title. I don't think PC gaming will ever die, but the golden age ended in the 1990s. It's becoming impossible to justify the cost and time required to upkeep a decent gaming rig. Chance are, when the next generation of consoles are released, I'll be buying in on the ground floor.
  15. *emerges from the cellar, sets an impossibly large and rusty bear trap at the stop of the stairs, pries it open with a grunt, gingerly sets a cream-filled donut at the center, waves to those in the thread, lumbers back into the depths of the basement* *the cellar door slams behind, as if by unseen hands*
  16. Ht 2 terrain is very important. Most people tend to scatter a ton of Ht 1 stuff like fences, low walls, hedges, etc., but fail to realize that these do not actually block LoS for anyone other than Ht 1 models (and only then if the target is also a Ht 1 model). Sure, you get cover, but in terms of LoS it might as well be a big, empty field. Add a goodly amount of Ht 2 or higher to ensure your Ht 2 models (the vast majority) enjoy a reasonable opportunity to stay hidden.
  17. Page 13 of the RM differentiates between killed/sacrificed and buried, stating that killed/sac'd results in being removed from the game whereas buried models are out of play but remain in the game. With regard to killed/sac'd, "they cannot return to play unless a specific effect allows them to do so." This would seem to speak directly to the effects of Shackled and Void, which would support the notion that both are considered effects. Both abilities require that the model be killed or sacrificed by definition, so it's not a case of the game creating a new out of play state. They're not being pseudo-buried or some such thing, otherwise the ability would never trigger. They're likewise not hovering somewhere between 0 wounds and killed as per Slow to Die, same problem. Page 13 would seem to indicate that both abilities create an effect, but only in play models and buried models can be affected by effects. Thus, the time space continuum is torn asunder. ... it seems that each model is privy to an ability that either allows it to retain a specific effect after being killed/sac'd (remove all other effects, model gains X effect while out of play) or Void and Shackled simply do not create an "effect" by definition of the word. I tend to think it's the former, and said effect will end in the closing phase if not otherwise fulfilled. I still believe "the turn" versus "a turn" is too telling to ignore. But that's just one more assumption for the pile.
  18. What's not to like? Bald. Overweight. Butter-face. Lacerated butt cheeks, pure cottage cheese. Pigeon toed. An expression like she's having a grand mal seizure. Sign me up.
  19. Seamus is really the only Rezzer that plays "well" out of the box. Nico needs a metric ton of stuff beyond the contents, Kirai needs Seishin, Gaki, Shikome, etc., Doug certainly doesn't need two Nurses and can profit from Canine Remains and other toys. I can't speak to Molly, really. No experience with her, but Belles would certainly be high on the list. Seamus is relatively self-contained and doesn't really need a totem.
  20. Exactly. This is why the description for Shared Actions specifically states that Passes do not count toward the total. If either model buries, it's activation ends and any potential unspent general AP is considered to be a (1) Pass, but that doesn't otherwise deplete the AP from the shared pool. It's also important to remember that, despite having a total of 3 AP available to them, Chompy and Dreamer can only use a max of 2 AP each.
  21. Each model can only activate once. If you activate Dreamer and spend AP to unbury Chompy (thus burying the Dreamer), the Dreamer's activation is over. If he has any AP remaining when he is buried, they are lost and/or automatically deemed to be (1) Pass actions. Chompy is placed in base contact, Dreamer is removed and LCB "activates immediately". If you then spend a single AP to bury Chompy (thus ending his activation), the Dreamer is placed in base contact, LCB is removed. Since the Dreamer has already activated, he does not activate again. The Dreamer and LCB are done for the turn and you've wasted a ton of AP in the process. That's how I understand it. EDIT: The important thing to note is that burying a model ends it's activation. I'm fairly certain this does not appear in the Rules Manual, but it has been ruled on several times.
  22. The word "immediately" was used it haste. I meant to say, "I've always assumed that once a model is deemed 'killed', assuming no Talents/Spells/effects exist to reverse the condition within the predefined turn phase, said model is then officially, irreversibly 'killed' and removed from the game." I don't believe these specialized resurrection abilities are meant to extend beyond the turn the model is killed. But that's only an assumption. I could start nitpicking at the section of the errata you quoted, "'If this model is killed or sacrificed during THE turn..." and insist that "the" indicates the turn in question and not simply "a turn", but like you said: sticky and pointless. ... I see no reason to discuss it further, as only an official Wyrdo could verify the intention either way. Plus, I have nothing invested in this particular discussion. There are no Leveticus nor Hamelin players in my local meta, it's no skin off my nose how it works, regardless.
  23. I don't think it's worded that way, it seems to be an assumption people are making. It's one I would make. Buried is the only ability I've seen that allows a model to ignore the framework of the turn sequence while remaining in an out of play state. So it is your contention that Hamelin being dead has a similar effect to him being Buried? He's not removed from the game, he just chills out of play until a certain condition is met? I've always assumed that once a model is deemed "killed", assuming no conditions exist to reverse the condition immediately, said model is then officially, irreversibly "killed" and removed from the game.
