Ya I just gave them 100 of my dollars becuase they said they would give me the game and a crap ton of extra miniatures... I REGRET NOTHING!

lets not forget about taking a Belle or a Punk Zombie out of suit. Those things are like immovable objects with benefits when I play them. Sure they take a medium card to get out but these guys give you staying power and awesome upgrades if they get taken down.

LUm the gambling panda rocks my socks, he's my second favorite next to Setsuki ninja student. I think the demographic for games like these are accutally the college age to mid thirties demographic. I know that is who usually plays it. If you want to give it a whirl you can usual play Sirlin's games online for free ( I think) I just don't enjoy the digital, gotta be analogue. You and your buddies should give Gloom a whirl panda, I think you may enjoy that one. I just learned to play and have the basic set, but it strikes me as right up your ally. The goal is to make your family die an unhappy and untimely death while you make your opponents' families as happy as possible.

I expect lots of pictures from adepticon. Still sad i could not go. Must. See. All. Puppet Wars.

Ya Mr. Sirlin was very nice. I had no idea who he was initially since I met him while he was wandering around the Yomi tournament. My friend had to point him out to me. It was cool to see how happy his staff was too, nice to see the indy companies with happy employees ---------- Post added at 10:03 AM ---------- Previous post was at 10:01 AM ---------- exactally. Plus all the tickets were sold out by the time I decided to go. If it wasn't for CMON i wouldn't have even gotten in at all.

Because Wyrd wouldn't get me into it for free. I have a hard time paying for convention admission. Plus then i would have to organize everything. As for the Aliens display it is a new game called Aliens colonial marines. They really brought out the big guns for it's display. You had to wait in an hour line just to WATCH the trailer for the game. Hence the lack of my information on it.

Well check me out I'm back in the painting forums! Anyway I recently had an overwhelming urge to finish up my puppet wars set. My other thread was getting a little crowded so here is the second wave of my puppet army commin at ya! Hans the moleman is sporting his heart on his sleeve and there is a flower on the back of his drill. Alice liked the flower so much she put one on her jacket. Kade and the sorrow have seen a lot of game play lately. I have yet to name the two happy little sorrows so any suggestions are welcome. THe Judge and his trusty dog Arfy patrol the desk of Zoraida looking for candy each night. THe punk Zombies Jonney and a Rotten. I dunno, i think i needed to use brighter colors on them... These are not actually december acolytes you are looking for. These are the Nintendo Ice Climbers. And heres bete ! An homage to my friend the panda director! Comments and such always apreciated. There will be more to come since i have about 12 or 13 left.

agreed. The rules PDF download even in a rough draft format would be cool. It is also tough becuase you only get a few of the greens on the website. There is little on the site about why this is a different game. Looks kinda neat though

HEy I am actaully the author of that article. If you look around on hadncannon there is a part two of that article too that address those concerns. I have played A LOT of puppet wars much to my suprise. I can honestly say it is a good game. Drafting has turned out to be a fine way to play. However, it does help to buy a few pawn packs just for variability and replayability. LIke the second half of the article says the game really does require quite a few plays before you unlock all the majesty that is puppet wars. The teddy thing isnt all that big a deal as they are not the power pieces. Plus in terms of the few peices that are off balance, I can say with confidence that Wyrd is fixing it and listening to all concerns. There are no real limited minis aside form the teddies and they were available online in a 5 pack during last black friday so wyrd may do it again. I think that the problem with pandora is that she is ALL synergy. That all synergy is fine in Malifaux but makes for a real boring puppet wars peice. With Marcus, even without his puppets, he can still defend himself and pose a threat to the other players sure he can't use all his abilities but he can still do something productive. With pandora there is little to no threat present when you leave her puppets out. In a void she will essentially BYOB and then be done as a master and a puppet. She just ends up running around hoping to draw a high card to attack with in the hand. And just as a side note. I have no problem when i activate a master and have an action left over, or can't use an ability. Happens a lot in game. However, what i have a problem with is never having a reason to even activate the master because they are not going to do anything especially productive (which is the wall i often encoutner with pandora)

And panda, that receptiveness is the only reason i engage in this dialogue. The behind the scenes Puppet wars people have done nothin but good things. I must agree too. She isn't broken she is just kinda blah. As far as the marcus thing I have taken on a few challenges with him, like not taking stuffed animals, and he was still fun to play ( though VERY challenging). I also agree though, that the difference between marcus and pandora may be that Marcus just has more of his "necessary puppets". There is certainly no shortage of stuffed animals.

no worries psych, they say pokey vic and the rider will be general release eventually but back onto topic Panda: with you having playtested what do you think the general stratagy/idea behind pandora was? Unfortuantly the mear fact that this topic exists and is being responded too makes me think pandor is pandbora . But for real, never once have i ever heard anyone say they really enjoyed playing pandora, even when they win. Though granted She is one of my favorite sculpts in the game.

Personally I just find pandora dull. More often then not i don't end up activating her, or when i do I find myself not doing much with her. I am quite experienced with her and a puppet wars veteran too, and utilize her the way she was intended to. In addition to this, she MUST have a certain toybox (or permeutation of that box) or she just doesn't function well. This is in contrast to all the other masters who can function quite viably with various toyboxes. To me that is her greatest weakness. When you have to basically take the same list every time I find that things get a bit dull for both the pandora player and her opponents. We all use her but in the end the general consensus is that any other master is just more fun to play. This is just my opinion though.
