Addiditves become important when thining paints to produce custom washes, stains, or when applying multiple thin layers. Using just water will cause most paints to chalk at a certain point (cheap paints will do this earlier then quality paints). You dont need to go crazy with them but a flow improver, matte medium, and gloss medium are a good start. Aside from adding them to paints before working on a model, I will also add a few drops of each to the bottles after I have finished with the color (I tend to paint in spurts so long term storage issues is a major concern). Doing this I have not had a single paint pot dry out in over 5 years (and yes that is the average age of my paint pots).

If you are just getting into painting then I would highly recommend purchasing the Reaper Master Series Paints (especially their Triads). They are great paints that dont cost a lot and we'll grow with your ability.
Also they aren't that expensive.

These are what I used on a lot of my Gremlin models.

How does one apply for Wyrd Confidant?I forget how many new players have come on board and there's really no way for you to know which of us are Developers, writers, Wyrd confidants, whatever, much less really know our online personas. As I've gotten more and more work for Wyrd and in my real life, I'm hammering the forums less than I was in the past, too.
BTW I might be seeing the Executioner comparison now.

Just for clarity: dont forget when hiring out of faction with Zoraida that she still incurs the extra Soulstone tax.

i've been pricing up a Seamus outfit as there's plenty of Jack The Ripper outfits online
.. without the boots i think it's very doable on the cheap
I have a pair of platform boots that would be perfect for a Seamus costume. Otherwise you could always buy These from Hottopic. Oh and they are on sale now.
For the rest of an authentic Seamus outfit this looks like a good place to start (though a bit on the pricey side).

Some of the best Sorrows I have seen on here. You did a phenomenal job on them.

Definately has some comedic value.

Aaaargh! This picture! :twitch:
And then there is that nasty "never happen"-skill that actually lets them fly! :der:
Dadadadaaaaada! Dadadadaaaaada! Dadadadaaaaada dadadaaaa!
Maybe you should add a taxidermist and some stuffed piglets to the "bomber"
Oh my piggies always fly and one gets to reactivate (thats pretty much all the whisperers do for me). I use my skeeter (usually two) support models to sooey them to where they are needed (giving a bit of predictability to the pig charges) then bring them back home safely again.
Have thought about running pig hot and heavy with the taxedermist and stuffed piggies added, though will have to wait until the models come out (I dont play unpainted or unreleased models).
Oh and my next Warpig rider will be moded to look the part of a norse valkyrie. May be a few months though (so much to paint already and school coming up).

I'd be interested inn seeing what you put together Murphy.

Yes, if Ophelia is acting as a master in a scrap then she can not hire anything but gremlins and kin models. She doesn't really do much for Pigs anyway, instead max her out with Bayou Gremlins.
One of the main reasons I dont really use Ophelia with Somer is unless I am running a "Gremlin Gunline" they dont really compliment each other very well (as I said earlier, i perfer the balanced list). But playing somer as master and adding her as henchman would again cost too many soulstones as there would be only few points left for all the crazy gremlin stuff! -
Really like your warpig and darker Gremlin scheme.
As for getting frustrated with Somer's crew, I would recommend reading a few of the Tactics threads that are floating around the Outcast forum. He can be played dramatically different based on his crew selection. I perfer balanced lists, though have had great fun/success with the "Pig Boomerang", "Gremlin Gunline" (even better if you include Ophelia), and to a lesser extent the "Alpha Stank".
-
Malifaux does present a problem for unified basing (even across the same faction). So far I have just painted my regular crews in a unified fashion and haven't really worried much about it.
-
What did you use for their bases?
Bayou bases and Bayou Bases accessories.
@tiny, I like these, good job. Did you get a look at mine?
-
Essentially this is the idea behind the Pig boomerang, though you aren't getting as much bang for the buck. You will also need your skeeters to assist with this in order to control your pig charges and return them to safety due to the sequence of activations.i was thinking of using the whisperer as a dedicated buffer for the warpig, so heal it reactivate it and sooey it. But you're probably right i could get one of the new gremlins in for that much. How have you guys found the new gremlins? Which 2 do you usually use without ophelia? if at all.I will usually take Rami and Rapha. Rami is usefull as hell and I just like how Rapha looks.
-
I usually fly them in a squadron of one bomber (warpig) with two to three fighter escorts (piglets).
And yes they hum Flight of the Valkyries the entire time (though they perfer the elmer fudd version).

You can take a look at the way I did mine either in the gallery link in my profile or this link [url=http://wyrd-games.net/forum/showpost.php?p=127258&postcount=18]here{/url]

If your going to take a Whisper you should really take more then one pig model. They work better in squadrons.
-
No I didn't see your new piggy photos with the wash and highlights...where are they?
As for the above Warpig, now that is "Some Pig" to quote a certain spider. The washes and highlights definately give it the right look. Only thing to me is the noose looks out of place but that is more my preference then anything else.
-
I think I mentioned it earlier, but just in case. Your piggies need some more definition. You did a wonderful on the gremlins but not much with the pigs. A few washes of GW Devlin Mud will do wonders.

Anyone know a quality alternative to GEDEO Silligum for moulds? Its $35 for 50g or $90 for 300g... and that isnt giving you much after making a few small 2-sided moulds...
Im speaking to some locals about casting resins and vaccuum setups at present. However, before any casting occurrs I will take some pics of each terrain feature and post them up for suggestions and possibly run a poll for each option to guage responses concerning what the Wyrd community feels best fits the bill.
Perhaps this site will help you out, Miniature Molds

Nice execution cant wait to see it painted.

Why does the new candy have toes for thumbs and an inability to look even slightly intelligent?
So I am assuming that we will need to start up a bunch of websites about Cndy's thumbs like Megan Fox has?
