  1. Slightly OT but... I had thought of doing a pokemon theme as well on this one... would LCB be your Machamp? Togepi Daydreams? Tentacruel Insidious Madness/Coppelius? I stopped getting ideas after that and had no idea what to do when it came to the Alps and Stitched and so on... That being said, now I'm doing Wild Things: http://wyrd-games.net/forum/showthread.php?t=21346&highlight=night+things Teddies are the Wild Things, LCB is still LCB, but Dreamer = Max. Everything else in the main army will look as if Max has drawn it with crayons or put it together from terrifying childhood experiences (i.e. ç∫øwñs). When you do get around to it, I hope you post your results here! An Ash Dreamer would be an awesome thing to see. ~J~
  2. I realize this, and Rasputina isn't German either for that matter, but I just was quoting that as a real statistic: http://abcworldnews.tumblr.com/post/6286129447/poll-germans-voted-least-funny-nationality-americans But yeah, definitely a torturous film... And what's worse than waterboarding? ICEBOARDING!!! ~J~
  3. I'd like to draw everyone's attention to a growing problem surrounding Malifaux: There's far too many terrible puns going around generated by people with ice powers. The worst example on record, of course, being this clip (from a movie banned by the UN, who consider this a most foul form of torture): [ame] [/ame] Now, Rasputina is quite the popular character around here, I understand; but I'm saddened to think how disillusioned many of us would be to meet her... you know... she being one of them. After Germans, I'm pretty sure ice mages are rated amongst the least funny people on earth (and the least funny in Malifaux after the Freikorps). Any thoughts on this grave matter? ~J~
  4. Who: Malifaux players, duh (winning) What: Domination, 35/45 SS Scraps and one 55 SS BRAWL, 1/2/3 required Schemes, official Gaining Ground Strategies & Schemes ... see more here: http://tinyurl.com/4jugvea When: Saturday, July 23rd ... Check-in is from 1ish to 1:55, pairings are announce at 1:55 and the tournament will end well before 8 pm! [EDIT: I changed the date to resolve scheduling conflicts for the store's events and events attended by other Malifaux players on other dates] Where: Hat's Games, 29th & Alvernon... we'll be in the back on the tables! http://tinyurl.com/44wxxz7 Why: For cool prizes, fun games, frivolity, what have you... In addition to standard Domination scoring, 3 rounds, fixed terrain/special features, you can expect the following: Bonus points will be awarded... +1 per turn completed each round (limit 6 per round) +5 Best Hobby (painting, sculpting, basing) +5 Best Fatesman (game prowess, rules knowledge, sportsmanship) +5 Gremlin's Luck (worst singular or pervasive luck in the tourney!) ... this "winner" also gets the coveted SPOOOOON!!! Please be prompt to make it to sign-in, or you may receive a Bye. Anyone receiving a Bye in subsequent rounds past the first may be playing against my Gremlins, who are not to be trifled with! > Please also be sure to clear ANY AND ALL proxies, borrowed materials, etc. with me BEFORE 7:30 PM on the day of the tournament. These will be approved by me and me only. Bring enough materials - you should have your fate deck, enough minis for a master and at least a 35 SS crew, a measuring tape, your profile cards, and any other appropriate marking devices that you use to track damage and what not. Poor preparedness can and will reflect on your overall score one way or another! Thanks for being awesome and I hope to see you guys there on the 29th!!! ~J~
  5. July league is a go, and James has graciously helped us to get our new league sheets edited and distributed. We had a good start on Friday, but I hope to see you guys out every week until the end... and another tourney! ~J~
  6. Come visit me from 5 til closing (9 pm) at the Park Place Mall this Wednesday! I'll be demoing Malifaux (derp). This Friday during normal league hours, I'll be demoing for our slew of new players and interested parties from 6 until closing (midnight). Monday the 11th, 18th, and 25th, you can also find me at Park Place giving demos from 5 to 9. Friday the 15th and 22nd will also be Demo Days at Hat's from 6 until closing. Hope to see you then! ~J~
  7. Those slaves do make a nice base model for Flesh Golemss.
  8. Glad to here it as well The Phoenix area needs more Malifaux community! ~J~
  9. Non-broken link: http://ammon-miniatures.com/?page_id=267 And that is quite awesome
  10. So I'm working on a long-term project right now to make the Nephilim decidedly more angelic, as it's my humble opinion that they represent a much better defined (if still awfully brutal and manipulative) moral high-ground than certain other forces in Malifaux. In addition to the swapping of demon wings for nice pretty feathery ones, I'll be theme-sculpting the bases and their edges to look like winged, eyed, rings of flame suspending each Nephilim. I'll post my Lilith here for a concept shortly, but she's a far cry from the original, let's just put it that way. I do plan on using each of the original models for the minions, and doubling up on these using appropriate Reaper minis as starting points for major conversion work... Mature MkII's base model: http://www.reapermini.com/figurefinder#detail/02760 Lilitu MkII: http://www.reapermini.com/OnlineStore/whip/sku-down/03329 Lelu MkII: http://www.reapermini.com/figurefinder#detail/03086 Blood Shaman MkII (plus a bonus Night Terror or whatever): http://www.reapermini.com/figurefinder#detail/03150 Young MkII-A: http://www.reapermini.com/figurefinder#detail/02990 Young MkII-B: http://www.reapermini.com/figurefinder#detail/03246 I'll be using probably two sets worth of Dark Eldar Scourges for feathered wings, doubling up on my Wyrd mature neph for a 4-winged monstrosity. I already have a set of Tzeentch greater daemon wings for Nekima ready to go... anticipating nightmares from pinning that and blending the conversion work... eesh.... Here's my question to the audience. I want 6 terror tots, but the question is, do I just get second Wyrd set and make 3 of them more... female-ish? Or do you guys know of some equally nasty-looking wingless cherubs that are more girlish-looking? Thanks for any feedback you may provide. I'll post pics of Lilith here when I get her base and painting all done. She looks great so far is all I'm permitting myself to say ~J~
  11. June winners are up! July league starts next week! I hope to see more of you out there this next month and a big build-up towards our next awesome tourney! ~J~
  12. Great turn-out last night! Top 3 were Garrett Lim, Jess Butler, and Samantha Huff! Congratulations to all our winners and we'll see you again next month, last Friday of the month @ 7 PM! ~J~
  13. Quite awesome! Normally I don't like the standard green suit look, but this pops! (and nice use of purple!) ~J~
  14. I remember when I first saw the youtube video for the reusable mold stuff, I was so impressed and at the same time so pissed that the guy wasn't being very careful with how he molded things with it (e.g. stretching and deforming a sheet of textured material he was going to put on a base.... WHY NOT MOLD IT ON THE BASE?!?! ~J~
  15. Cool minis! I may get those for additional twinses... It's a pet peeve of mine to double up on models that are stylistically difficult to convert to look unique. ~J~
  16. Here's our latest one for this Friday. Plenty of time to make it out our way if you guys wanted to make any trips too! http://wyrd-games.net/forum/showthread.php?t=22096 ~J~

  18. Hey Phoenix - once you guys start running Saturday tourneys, would it be OK if one or more Tucson guys showed up now and then? We're doing Friday tourneys ourselves down at Hat's Games in Tucson, and you're always welcome to stop on by if you see we have an event up! We're on facebook, too! http://www.facebook.com/home.php?sk=group_147723621944623&ap=1 ~J~
  19. June league has one more week to go... report any last game played this week for full VPs, and if you show up for the tourney you get 5 more points towards this league month! ~J~
  20. Great for Apocalypse or Legendary Battles alike!
  21. I love the Isabella (I use mine as an alternate Sonnia), and I am currently using my Seraphine Roux (check her out at McVey as well) as Zoraida since the Tucsonans around me aren't QUITE so liberal-minded as to gracefully accept nudism in old crones. Actually more because it's an awesome model ~J~
