  1. We had the same problem here in Ireland. Can't remember the UK distributor, I believe there is only the one stocking Malifaux at the moment. Ended up having to buy the book online so we could proxy until the stock came in (which took 4 months from the US release date). Sadly it means Malifaux is smaller here than it would have originally been. We have a strong core, but a lot of people were extremely excited and had it eroded away after months of waiting. Luckily there has been a fair amount of demoing and EVERYONE who plays it ends up walking out of the shop with a gang, card deck, and rulebook.
  2. I think I misread the rules, I thought you deployed one at a time (I go you go, much like activation).
  3. So the lil'mutt can only get body parts from other models then? That's kind of a bummer.
  4. I wouldn't worry about it. If you read Page 7 of the new rules you've been errata'd out of the game.
  5. I must have missed that. Well screw him then, lil'mexi-dog is getting promoted to the majors. And I had such high hopes of a seamus with armor 2.
  6. I just ran McM with a grave spirit today and I have to say it worked well. He seems nigh unstoppable with armor 2, hard to wound, and healing in melée. Next time I'm going to try the lil'mexi-dog but for some reaon I just see him as a one point flesh construct instead of a two point flesh construct.
  7. You had me so excited! Ah new D6 and they finally did an indepth on Mali-f*ckyeah! Alas, it wasn't to be.
  8. Killjoy seems like fun, but really expensive and "resource" heavy. Brilliant model though!
  9. Does the sound of my opponent weaping count? I especially like it when their tears play a soft rhythm as they hit the table in time with my flipping cards. If not, then I think Johnny Cash fits well.
  10. Well done! Can't wait to read the battle reports. Seamus is one mean machine.
  11. The list looks good but I don't know if I'd run 3 belles. They're nice for luring and lowering defense, but if you run into anything that can negate it or has high WP you're in a trouble. At 30 stones I generally run 2 belles, 2 punk zombies, the convict, and sybelle. It only leaves me 2 SS but I haven't had a problem yet. There usually aren't any opponents left on the board after turn 5. The other problem with 3 belles and sybelle is that the only killing power you have is the convict and seamus. The convict can be taken down fairly quickly, and while Seamus is a tough bugger it only takes a turn of dedicated fire to down him (and when the only thing you have to worry about is being hit with umbrellas I'd take a turn to just pop Seamus). Just my two cents, but the raw killing power of two punk zombies will never let you down. edit: I've never played with the copy cat killer, he may help, but his combat is so low I wouldn't rely on him for a lot of hitting power...
  12. Any guild crew seems straight forward really.
  13. Looks like I'll have to give him another shot and just pretend he doesn't have exhume. To be honest I completely forgot Fresh Meat (would have been really handy in my last game where everything was severe terrain).
  14. Thank goodness, I thought I had completely missed something. Guess he's coming out of my nico lists to fit in some other dead stuff.
  15. Played two games last night, one with Seamus (my main man) and one with Nico. I brought Mort along with Nico and realized something: exhume seems to be a waste. In the two games I've played using Mort I've only ONCE gotten a corpse counter from exhume. It's not that hard to cast it, but then there's only a 1:4 chance that you'll flip a raven. In a game limited to (usually) 6 turns it seems like he'd be better off running 2xWK in the early turns and smacking someone with his shovel instead of WK then exhume all the time. Maybe no one else tries to exhume at all and I've been a chump? Or maybe I'm missing something?
  16. Thanks guys, that's brilliant. I'll have to give him a go this weekend without the vultures! p.s. Nathan, you've got me on the edge of my seat to see these vulture models now!
  17. Was just curious what everyone thinks of Nicodem without using the vulture totems. No idea when the models will be out and I'm too lazy to proxy without suitable models
  18. I haven't played with the convinct gunslinger yet (waiting for him to be in stock at our FLGS), but I can tell you that the punk zombies are fantastic. There is something really satisfying about luring something into charge range and mincing them with undead samuri. Just make sure you do it after your target has activated, because it's even more satisfying for your opponent to charge you after being lured. Learned that the hard way.
  19. Ya, simple miniatures is doing my head in. And our poor FLGS owner is doing everything he can, hate to order them online when we have a nice shop right in town.
  20. If you guys in Sheffield ever get any tournies going be sure and let me know. I've been looking for an excuse to make it back there (graduated from U of Sheffield a few years back).
  21. Brilliant, thanks guys. Have any of you in the UK/Ireland had a problem getting the minis? Our local store here in Dublin is having a heck of a time getting anything from his distributor.
  22. Hey guys, just a quick question. Why isn't anyone discussing Seamus, all I see are McMourning and Nicoderm threads! The reason I ask is this: I'm waiting for my order to come in and I've chosen the Seamus gang as my first go at the game. I'm just hoping the reason nobody is discussing him is because he's straight forward and not because he's pants and nobody likes him . Anyways, I can't wait to play my first game. Been waiting what seems like forever (the distributor had a hard time getting the models, something about a flood. Who knows.) and these boards have been keeping me going. I'm sure I'll be posting more after reading the book. Likely with millions of questions. I'll appologize in advance. Sorry.
