  1. so they added new fluff to the 1.5 book?
  2. It's been a couple of years since I played but might be starting again shortly. I have the original rulebook, and the newer smaller one. I see there is also a 1.5 Rulebook. Do I need the 1.5? What's different in the 1.5 that I can't find in the original and mini?
  3. Evil Homer, The Lower Crypt is back (sort of). I managed to delete my account over the summer and have finally got my new blog up and running with a lot, though not all, of the old material. new site is http://theuppercrypt.blogspot.com Cheers!

  4. I've been away from Malifaux for a while but think I want to start it up again. I need to build one or more tables to play on. How much terrain does a Malifaux table need in terms of percentage? Somewhere between 30-50% seems about right to me but what do you all think?
  5. There are a number of 40k blogs doing airbrush articles right now. N++ has a good starter series and links to more. Airbrushes for Malifaux mini's I think pay the most dividends in terrain building. They are a great tool for base coating many models in the same color, they are a great tool for priming and using a zenithal priming technique. Since most Malifaux models are painted as individuals, not as mass units, the model painting value for Malifaux is limited. That being said, as I mentioned for terrain they are awesome. Base coats, highlights, depth, the whole nine. You do not need a spray both indoors if you are spraying acrylics. If you spray anything other than acrylics you will want a spray booth. You will want a screen (I use foamcore) to spray against, and to catch overspray. You will still want to wear a mask (something that screen particulates, fume mask is not necessary for acrylics) and work in a well ventilated area. If you're working in a garage I recommend a tool compressor. If your working in an apartment you'll want something quieter.
  6. I've been away from Malifaux for a year or so and am looking to get back. One of the site I had bookmarked was a blog called the Lower Crypt. If had not seen it this guy had tons of terrain tutorials for victorian houses and western buildings for Malifaux. It was great, great stuff. I google the blog and it shows in a google result. If you google Malifaux terrain for images, you get alot of the stuff that was on the blog, with the lowecrypt.blogspot address. When you go the blog itself through either method you get a blog not found result. Does anyone have any info on what's going on? Maybe a point of contact for the author? Thanks EH

  8. I think he is talking about foamed PVC, like Sintra. Antenocciti (spelling...) uses it alot over on the Infinity boards for making buildings. It comes in sheets as large a 4x8 and various thicknesses and colors. There is a thickness equivalent to foamcore. It cuts clean with a fresh blade using a multiple pass method. Is sandable and drillable, and glues with superglue (might even work the plastic cement). Interesting stuff but definitely not cheap, especially for large sheets. EH
  9. I didn't want to hijack the White Wash City thread so....what are everyone's feelings on paper terrain as it relates to actually playing the game? Do you miss the 3 dimensional terrain one normally plays with? How do find the flat terrain affects LOS and other issues? I've never used it but the World Works city/sewer/canal stuff looks really really nice and I was wondering what people experiences are with the paper stuff before I take the jump. thanks EH
  10. http://www.terragenesis.co.uk/infopages/page109.html for a variant you can do using pipecleaners and step by step for the twisting. I imagine you could us paper-mache technique for the bark rather than than baking clay. Or I was thinking about some kind of plaster/gauze bandage technique where you use some watered down plaster, soak the gauze in it, and wrap/apply the gauze around the tree. Messy but you might get some interesting results. EH
  11. New player to Malifaux, along with our local group. Can't wait to get started. THe group is pretty excited. We all used to be big Confrontation players and I recognize a number of usernames here from there as well. Really looking forward to making some terrain for this game too. EH
