  1. Nathan, I'm one of the emails in the queue, and you just get to me whenever you can I've said this other places, but you guys have some of the nicest forum participants of any site I've experienced, gaming or otherwise. It is nice to see that continuing. Looking forward to writing some articles about this game ME
  2. Look at what Rackham did with their Confrontation miniatures game by creating the RPG Cadwallon. The RPG is what got me interested in the miniatures game, and I think you will find the combat system for both is very similar, but Cadwallon gives you more opportunity to explore the histories and stories behind the different races and factions. ME
  3. That actually would work really well, and a fraction of the price! Thanks for the heads up ME
  4. Hey, just found they have actual Scrooge miniatures on their Christmas page! Woo hoo!
  5. Appreciate you sending me here. Actually a couple of the Jack the Ripper figures look like they might work. A bit younger of a Scrooge, but very victorian gentleman and malevolant looking Appreciate the suggestions from everyone! ME
  6. I've been working on making miniatures for a goofy little wargame called The Christmas Wars, but I have yet to find a good Scrooge piece. Does anyone have any recommendations? Most of my Christmas pieces are small snowman and Santa Christmas ornaments with the hooks removed and glued to white-painted 1" washers. I would love to have a good-detail, victorian looking Scrooge to lead my ninja army, though ... ME

    Hello!

One thing I mentioned in another thread, I managed to pick up two Rackham starter paint sets for cheap at Origins this year, so I am mainly playing with the colors and brushes with those sets. I have been reading about the dip method and was wanting to try that out, but this isn't the first time someone has recommended the GW washes to me, so I will have to check those out as well. ME
  8. Cool thread. I bought a bunch of zombie minis at Origins this year to try painting because I figured if I screwed up, hey, it's a zombie! I am using Rackham starter set paints and brushes (also bought for cheap at Origins). I tended to go for a black undercoat to the eyes/mouth/crags, a mix of green and gray and some slight touches of a darkened red around the mouth, fingers and any obvious wounds. I think I am painting too dark, though. I haven't yet dipped the pieces (which I want to do to see how that works) and I have heard that will darken things a bit. ME

    Hello!

Hey, I am brand new to the site. I'm a game reviewer and journalist in Parkersburg, WV, and am just getting into painting miniatures, so I was excited when I first saw images and some articles about this game. Hoping to learn more, maybe write a few articles of my own. I'm also hoping to find some tips on painting minis. I don't have a lot of time and am just starting out, so anything that makes the process more accessible for a casual painter would be appreciated. Thanks in advance. ME
