  1. Unless it changed, it is a Rare 1. So you can only have one in play at a time. Is it possible to get 8 body parts from the Chihuahuah (I assume that is the 1SS model you are referring to)? I've only played McMourning a couple of times, Seamus is my guy and now Kirai, but I thought I had to kill the Chihuahuah and at least another dog to get a Flesh Construct and have a good card in hand. So I don't think it's that easy.
  2. The myth is typically that the father(s) of Lilith's children were demons. No specific one though, so you couldn't really tell which monster was fathered by which demon. Lilith wasn't really viewed as discriminating.
  3. Another thought on the Shikome and "Prey." It's slightly different from the Warmachine version in that the Shikome cannot target or damage any other model while it's Prey is on the table. So it's more limiting than the Warmachine version. A couple of times I found myself in the situation of having other models close by or even engaging me that I couldn't attack. So you have to choose your prey carefully. I think Neverborn also has a spirit that Kirai can use.
  4. I think Night Terrors will be a good, cheap spirit for her, especially paired up with a Shikome. At least if all of this remained both are beasts and the Shikome can buff another beast.
  5. Earlier in the thread someone had reservations about the company and was shouted down. I posted this merely for color commentary for that person. Plus, when deciding between two similar products, I believe business ethics and practices are a valid consideration.
  6. Some friends here have had trouble with Battlefoam's customer service. As I posted in another thread the lawsuit against Outrider Hobbies is why I will NEVER purchase anything from Battlefoam. Here are relevant quotes from the Judge's opinion: Emphasis mine. http://www.livingdice.com/4759/battle-foam-v-outrider-hobbies-trademark-case-the-judge-ruled-and-the-case-is-over/#ixzz0w8kx3Aoo Read more: Emphasis mine. I use Sabol trays and bags and have been fine with them. The hard sides of the Battlefoam bags look nice if I ever flew with my miniatures. Let me point out that I am an attorney and judges do not typically use the kind of language the judge used here in a simple dismissed for lack of jurisdiction ruling. The judge was sending a message, the reference to Rule 11( sanctions was a clear indication of this.
  7. So on the multiple Teddys, how many are most opting for? I have one and will probably get another, but I don't expect to ever use more than two. In fact when the other stuff comes out I might not even use Teddy at all, but for now I might have to go the multiple Teddy route.
  8. I agree, you want multiple Gakis and Seishin. Kirai's totem when it comes out will be a must. I'm waiting on my book but I'm curious to see how Datsue-Bae worked out. She was very powerful. I also really liked the Shikome and used it often with Kirai. Kirai was a lot of fun to play. I'm looking forward to getting more games in with her. Anxiously awaiting on my stuff to arrive.
  9. I'll post the dissenting view as usual. I've played Warmachine from the beginning and then Hordes from the beginning. I never played any GW games, I came to it from Mage Knight and HeroClix after they started dying. The game was originally billed as a "skirmish" level game, but it quickly outgrew that, and now is somewhere between a true skirmish level and a large army game like the GW games. My complaints are less with the game and more with the play-style the game seems to promote. So my complaints aren't with Mark II; in fact I think Mark II is very good, PP addressed many power creep issues and did an excellent job of having the players involved with the open beta testing of the new rules. As others have pointed out, the game is very much about powerful combos; it's almost like a 3-D CCG in that respect. The fact that you get to activate your entire army while your opponent sits there feeds into that. An extreme example of that is one of our local players won a Hardcore match at Warmachine weekend here in one minute and 31 seconds, his opponent didn't even get a turn (I wasn't the loser in that game, just so you know it's not sour grapes). Again, that's an extreme example and Mark II has effectively limited if not outright eliminated the ability to do the "first turn caster kills" of the old system. Now having played several games with alternating activations, and/or reactions allowed to the non-active player (AROs in Infinity) and usually an opposed system to determine results, I find I like those systems much better. In WarmaHordes, I often felt like I could leave during my opponent's turn and come back and ask "Am I dead yet?" The game is extremely competitive (especially around here), so much so that even in "friendly" games (i.e. league or campaign games), I've been subjected to some pretty egregious (in my opinion) behavior. Most players always seem to lhave the tournament mind-set. So that coupled with having played the game for so long, I stopped having fun and felt burned out. I began experimenting with other games and found that I started having fun again. I still have several Warmachine & Hordes armies and have toyed with getting back into it, but now it would be an expensive proposition to get back in with new books, stat cards and the new models to keep up with the power curve.
  10. Looking forward to getting my Kirai box set, I want some bamboo looking bases like in the pictures. Maybe Wyrd will make some, but I won't be able to wait for them. Someone on here mentioned that they were making some. Any suggestions on how to make some or has anyone seen any available for purchase?
  11. I used to have this problem a lot and changed primers several times trying to stop it. Then I was told that the problem is the humidity and heat causing the paint to dry before it hits the model. I've started priming indoors in my basement. My wife complains about the smell, but I haven't had the "fuzzy" problem since. I have also used the Simple Green method of removing primer. I even drop the miniature in still attached to the base since it doesn't hurt plastic. The only problem with Simple Green I've had is that it sometimes won't get all of the primer off, even after scrubbing with a toothbrush. But I can't tell after I re-prime the mini. I've used Pine Sol to strip minis before, but they still had to soak for a day or two and it will eat your bases and dissolve your glue, so the mini will have to be re-assembled. I used sandable auto primer and frankly couldn't tell that it did any better. It is however substantially cheaper. I'm using P3 primer now and pretty happy with it priming indoors. I don't know what I will do when forced back outdoors. I've never tried brush on primer, so no help there.
  12. Kirai and Lord Chompy Bits. I play both factions and they were my two favorite in the Beta Test. I also want Ophelia, but I may hold off on her for a bit.
  13. Will the Nightmare version be the complete box set, except larger Chompy Bits, or is it just the two figures? I'm getting it either way, I'm just curious if it will come with more things to play with.
  14. Speaking of that, has anyone found a bit for a still or tried to build one (a model one, not a real one).
  15. Do you remember what section of Hobby Lobby had these balsa boats? I'd like to get some, but I have a hard time finding stuff in there.
  16. Why am I reminded of the old Samsonite commercials with an elephant sitting on the suitcase or a steamroller rolling over one? I'll echo the other's sentiments, why on earth would you do that? Didn't want to carry the bag down the stairs and decided to go the quicker route? Playing Malifaux or other mini game on the roof? I'm a little dubious of that claim. That is some exceptional plastic and foam. Also, given some of the allegations in the lawsuit, I'm leery of internet endorsements of these products. One of the unintended consequences of lawsuits, after reading about the case and especially the judge's order, should I find myself in the market for a new bag and pre-cut foam, I doubt I'll be buying this product.
  17. Interesting reading, especially the judge's order: http://www.tabletopgamingnews.com/2010/06/30/37366#comments http://www.livingdice.com/4759/battle-foam-v-outrider-hobbies-trademark-case-the-judge-ruled-and-the-case-is-over/ http://www.livingdice.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/06/Battle_foam_outrider_dismissal.pdf http://www.livingdice.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/06/battle_foam_must_pay_costs.pdf
  18. Yeah I did the same thing, just bent the handle. I didn't think about the handle being bent because they were "crooked" men though.
  19. Lots of neat stuff here. The outhouse is awesome. How did you do the tentacles? Are they the Malifaux accessories or did you make them? I made an outhouse, but I like the tentacles idea.
  20. It's a beautiful board, very nicely done. In addition to shacks, maybe some creepy type ruins, obelisk, type things and a bridge. That is my only question, for actual game play does all of the water slow things down?
  21. I've used him with Nicodem, as others have pointed out using Slow to Die models is good. I will also bring two Vultures so they can fly out 10" and then pop Killjoy out against something that has already activated. Just remember what I learned the hard way, ALWAYS keep two cards in your hand. Head Shot or Slit Jugular on a 13/14 point model really stinks! Again, I learned that the hard way.
  22. We typically play on a 4 x 4 board, and just deploy 12" as suggested. It seems to work fine.
  23. Very nice. I really like the paint job and the signs. I've made some western style buildings and those were the two areas of concern for me. What area did the columns come from in Hobby Lobby or what is the product called? I think I'm going to steal that idea. Great job!
  24. That is indeed a welcome change. I don't know if I would go so far as to say more useful than Sybelle though. Guess it depends on how you're planning on using them, and whether you like the ladies and plump ones at that. :parental
