yeah I completely agree with all of you.. In the past i have had players say $%#@ after I've done something and not want to continue. ( like dropping a dreamer terror bomb of doom in the middle of the event organizers gremlin crew, and watching them ALL fail their moral duels) so i dont have a problem with that, I personally wont quit a game, I'll play and learn from what happen and come back smarter and more prepared. Like i said before I had talked to the event organizer about if players could quit a match and he told me no.. Unfortunately head had family obligations at the time of my match so I wasn't able to have him solve my issue.. This is out first Malifaux league so i view this as a learning experience..The whole issue for me was not that he wanted to quit, it was just attitude and behavior from the beginning of the match till the end..

lol i guess if i would have finished reading his lure of emptyness ability i would have seen the no constructs, gremlin, or henchmen.. well crap.... thats sucks.... time for a new title Hamlin+ levi =

Well i just went threw both books and it looks like the models i could take are.. canine remains necro punks steampunk arachnids steampunk abominations wicked dolls nix mindless zombies rusty alice. I'm not sure about ryle thou.. his ability destructive impulse says he is insignificant till he kills something. hmm the crew is a little more limited that i originally planed?

So it seem the consensus is to let a player quit. I will talk to the Event Orginizer about this and point him in the direction of the thread so it might help him make his decision.. Thank you all who voiced there opinions.. Well all but karn's

I cant wait for Hamlin the plagued to come out... We are doing a league where I play and the last 2 weeks are going to be brawls... I was originally planning on playing my dreamer crew with Zorada thrown in for support and some extra control.. But now I'm thinking of running Leveticus and Hamlin the plagued.. I think this will be a great team,,, All my SPA are no longer insignificant which will be really good for taking objectives.. that and drawing cards when people play control cards will be fun with my already large starting hand.. ( Rusty Alice) plus Leveticus drawing cards when successfully casting spells .. Um yes please.... If only Jack Daw or Molly could run in the crew I would cry so many happy tears.. Now I just need to come up with a list that will works well.. Im not sure if I should focus on Rats and Ratcatchers, or SPA... or should I go for balance between the 2? What do you guys think?

yes this is a problem, but i wasn't planing on using her for summoning any thing... as i would rather save the corpse counter if any for waifs. most of the time I'm casting necrotic unmaking so there aren't many counters to start with.

well i got to play a 25ss game the other day, and i must admit molly and levi worked well together.. adding 3" to levi's movement really makes him even more of a threat with unnatural wasting, and his other spells.. it was also nice to have molly be able use levis spells which was nice playing against a army with lots of hard to wound, low Df models. I was also able to improve rusty Alice's movement with molly's imbue vigor. which was nice because with a walk action and shooting it gives a 19" threat range...with the possibility of HEAD SHOT! I feel that molly works as a great support character for my play style and look forward to using her again.

Hey Karn do you have any plans on writing up a Hamlin the Plagued tactica?

its like why doesn't Leveticus count as a construct? he had a cyber hand and a smoke stack sticking out his back.. where Ramos counts and just has the hand.. ( well as far as i can see)

I've gone into games knowing I didn't have much of a chance of winning. In fact the last tourney I played in with my Leveticus crew i knew i wasn't going to be able to get many vp points because most my crew was insignificant, and we where allowed only 1 scheme. so i build a list I thought was going to be fun to play and just tried to kill as many thinks as possible. which for me if fun.. Win or Lose as long as I kill something violently I'm happy.. and at the end of the game shake hands and say good game. We are playing for money ( in-store credit) and to me forfeiting just leaves to much to be desired. It would be to easy for some one just to give up so there friend could win the League.. Please DON'T think im saying anyone im my gaming group would do that! because im not.

I think I'll have a talk with the Event organizer to see what we can do..

Don't get me wrong I dont have anything against the guy, Hes a Nice guy and fun to talk with. I'm just trying to figure out if there is something I could have done differently.

Normally I would allow a person to quit, but the league organizer said a played cant back out of a match. The player was running a 25ss Seamus list, and i wouldn't say he was new to war gaming, I know he has at least 6 Malifaux games under his belt with Seamus, and had been playing Warhammer 40k for a while now. Normally I would run my dreamer crew, but I wanted to try running a Levi list I've been wanting to run for a while now.. yes that was the list ratty

I played a game yesterday and my opponent spent the whole game complaining and pacing back and forth. and after about the second turn wanted to quit. We are playing in a league based around victory points so I told him he really couldn't quit. I've been War gaming for bout 16 years now and have never played against anyone like this. I don't know if he was having a bad day or what ..but he just wouldn't stop.. Finally by the end of the third turn is had enough and had to say "dude, SPORTSMANSHIP". and he looked at me like he didn't know what I was saying so i explained it to him. I've never had to point out to a played that they where showing poor sportsmanship .Ever. As far as me as a player, I like to think I'm an easy guy to play against.. Sure I'm Very competitive but I also know this is just a game. I try not to gloat or brag during a game. Sure I may smile during a game when I think of something devious, or something that could win me the game. I guess what i want to know is there something i could have done differently, how would you handle a person like this??

I'm the Levi player he was playing against yesterday. I had the v3 card printed out right next to me, but i was using my original card I had laminated to keep track of damage. I never realized they changed that 1 spell and added a resist. I'm sorry lenny.. Like every one else, and like I was telling you last night... kill the waifs and smash Levi. he has a low DF, and 8wd, your convict or seamus should be able to kill him with out a problem.. The only thing I had going for me was I had lots of terrain to hide behind, and our objectives forced you to need to be in my deployment zone and i only had to move a short way out of my deployment zone to get mine. so i was able to hide behind terrain and stay safe while you had to move across the board. My only real advice that I think will help you, stay calm, IT"S JUST A GAME. Winning or losing this game is suppose to be fun.

Well I wanted to try something a little out side the [karn tactica box] since my opponents where catching on to the normal dreamer play style i figured id try something a little different... so i figured if they want to box up and try and make it hard to kill things..... I'd just have to BREAK THE BOX. so with all the lures i can single out targets ( mainly targets that i have chosen for my schemes or models that are trying to get objectives) and pull them to me and rip them apart.. Its just something different to try and thats all its ment to be..

so I made a 35ss list that i've played twice now... and for far its worked both times and have been fairly fun as well.. t Dreamer 5ss cache daydream 2ss daydream 2ss daydream 2ss doppelganger 8ss lilitu 7ss lilitu 7ss lelu 7ss The idea behind the list is pretty obvious, Lure models in and ripe them apart with lord chompy bits, or if need be the lelu... the doppelganger is there to there copy the lilitu's dark beauty, and cast lure,, or copy the dreamers spells to aid in burying or unburying the other models.. plus the negative flip is always nice on an opponites initive flip everything else is played like a standard dreamer list hit and run away... Anyways let me know what you think...
