I'll get some close ups done when I've painted a few more models, my dad's a photographer so if I take it all to his house I can get access to all kinds of wonderful things! I'm really happy with the Golem, especially because I completely winged it! The photo's quite complementary to Rasputina, she's a bit messy close up! Need to smooth out the white and I'm thinking about painting her stockings/waist scarf thing in a similar blue to the beasties to tie them together a bit better, although she works better all-white than I anticipated. Thanks for the nice comments, always handy to keep the old painting-bug going!

Sorry about the shoddy pic.......... Few touch ups to do here and there and I think the grass is a bit green, looks like spring's coming! I'll drybrush it white at some point but I'm eager to get onto Zoriada and all her swampy goodness.

Looks nice, I do like McMourning a lot. I'm a bit of a sucker for hot female models too (hence getting The Death Marshals and Cult of December). Can't wait to see these gals!

I like to make my own reality. Shame I can't bend physics though, in my head I can do loads of cool stuff. Edit: put my pics of Rasputina & co up in the "miniatures showcase" section, and now I'm late for work! Huzzah!

I realise this now! I drilled a few pilot holes and afterwards thought "why didn't I use the drill all the way around?" Still, it was about 2am. This gw water effects is rubbish though, put a second layer on my test base and it didn't dry clear at all. I'll leave it another day and see what happens but it seems pretty dry to me. Just trying it in one big gloop now, if it still doesn't work I'm marchin' down there and getting my money back!

I always assumed it was mal - eh - fo, although it did strike me as strange that there don't seem to be many french people in or around malifaux. I think I like Keltheos's pronunciation better though!

Cool, good to know. I've been going mad with the bases, trying to make them all special like. (for the swamp dwellers anyway). Just spent a good couple of hours cutting bits out, putting bits in and in one case completely removing the "base" and just keeping the lip. Should look cool but damn me got some sore fingers! Anyway I just wanted to check before doing Zoraida's base. cheers guys.

Actually, Gordon Brown recommended me to go over and see if I can't use my mighty geekery to sort out all this nasty war business*, perhaps I could slip out for a few days for some "covert operations". After all, everyone knows it's all the dirty gamers fault. (* this is a lie)

I'm sure I've read this somewhere but can't find it. Just a quick question regarding base sizes, does it make a huge difference what size of base the model is on? For example, Zoraida comes with a medium base (30mm? I don't have a ruler handy), would I be able to mount her on a smaller base or will that affect the game? I'm just used to playing warmachine where base size makes a HUGE difference, although it struck me that malifaux might be more of a "modellers" game with more freedom of how you build your figs. Ta.

That sounds bliss! I'd love to make it to Gencon one year but all that travelling and money - not really plausible. If I can paint everything as nicely as I've managed this here ice golem I think I'll be justified (will post picks once I get Her Icyness painted).

Lovely! So I went into town to get some Water Effects and guess what my LGS had just got in....... yep, Malifaux. So I got Seamus and The Death Marshals box sets too. I do feel exceedingly guilty now having spent around £100 on a game that isn't even out yet (and all in the last week), but I'm certain this lot will keep me busy. Plus I'll have lots of stuff to entice other players at my club with. Since it's so (relatively) inexpensive, the models are gorgeous and a new way of playing wargames (no dice) I'm sure I'll be able to lasso some more players (there's currenly only 3 of us buying into Malifaux). On that note I've got 3 hours to kill and some Ice Gamin wanting painted.....

Please tell me Zorri (as she will be known henceforth) can turn people into dolls! Or if it's the whole "voodoo doll" thing she can send one a-running away with her would be victim mirroring the doll! That'd be hysterical! my mind's running rampant at the moment so just let me dream for now....... Started painting The Cult of December last night, one gamin down although the base isn't quite what I hoped, need more experimenting. Started the Golem too (was saving him for second last but couldn't resist.) Been using nothing but the newish citadel washes on him over a white base and you know what, it looks pretty cool! Need to work on how to highlight him while trying to maintain a certain transparancy, yet more research and experimenting! I'm really not rushing though, plenty of time to have at least the icey folks painted before the book comes out. I'm having a hell of a time trying to get water effects (every site uses paypal and my account's been down for ages with no help from their so called "customer service"), might just get the gw stuff although I've no idea how good it is. I suppose I love their paints and general modelling supplies so hopefully it'll be up to their usual standard, although it is twice the price of every other company's!

I think Gremlins are next on my list of "must haves". Going to take my time on these babies though, and need to figure out how to do decent water and snow basing effects. None of my standard, "drybrushed sand with a patch of grass" here! So my stuff arrived yesterday! Unfortunately I've got a really busy weekend ahead so won't get to do much with them for now, but it feels nice to just have them! I like the Malifaux boxes; small, to the point with nice artwork. The mini's are obviously very cool too! The Silurid are bigger than I thought they would be! And Rasputina's just such a beautiful model. Zoriada too, (well, maybe beautiful's the wrong word!), love the collection of creepy dolls that come with her. While I'm at it, I got the wee coupon for getting the Cult of December stat cards when they're available. However will I be able to get Zoriada & co's too? They didn't come in a box, so I didn't gets no coupon (this is assuming that what I bought will be in her box) but I can take a picture of me with them as proof of purchase if need be!

Sounds like my kinda gal, I always tend to pick annoying factions! (Cryx, Nomads and Ratskins to name a few, heh heh!) Another pack of silurids hmmm? So the games are going to be more than leader, henchman/beastie and a few lackies? Enticing! I've heard Zoriada has mind control type things going on, always fun! I'm hoping the mire Golem's a big regenerating mass of rampage! Now I just need to figure out how to do nice swampy bases.

Well, I snapped already. Couldn't decide between Rasputina and Zoriada ( I think i'll prefer Zoriada in game, but I really, really want to paint those ice beasties!) so I ordered the Cult of December box and Zoriada, Mire Golem and Silurids! £50 well spent I hope! Oh, the "gagging for it" does mean what I think it means. I'm looking forward to this game *that* much. When I finally get a copy of the book I'm going to light some candles, open some wine and make sweet, sweet romance with it. Then order another copy. Nice Princess Bride reference though! If only I'd booked my holiday for the week after, Viking ruins or not it's not going to be much fun now. Humph.

Excellent! It's taking more and more willpower to not order anything before I see the rules but judging by the rumours and card previews I think I'm gonna likes it! I'm going on holiday on the 8th August, it would be really, really nice if I could get a copy before then! I'd be the coolest kid in Lismore. Plus my g/f would really appreciate it :S Waaaahhh!! I'm all excited now! I'll email arcane and see what they say but one way or another I'm getting that book asap!

Well seems like Gencon's a shoe-in for release. But what about we unlucky few who, for one reason or another, won't be getting to Gencon? When is the book hitting the shops! Specifically, when should it hit the UK? I'm GAGGING FOR IT!

Well, a friend of mine went to salute in London and picked up some Neverborn before me! Swine that he is! I'm still thinking about getting the Hag but I'd like to mix it up a bit so been eyeing up the arcanists. Although what was mentioned about Zorri here is making me think again, again! What's the deal with the Arcanists anyway? Are their respective beasties their henchmen? Cheers for the warm welcome!

Hey all, I'm new to the forum here but been looking at Wyrd stuff for ages and ages whilst drooling excessively. Now that the game is around the corner (God willing) I think it's about time I got me some models! I'm really interested in the Neverborn, initially I fancied the guild but who am I kidding, I always get the baddies! (in the traditional sense, it's never that black and white nowadays. PC gone mad I tell you!). Anyway, I was curious about the Hag. I'm led to believe that, although somewhat interchangable, all the "leaders" have certain henchmen and followers that they're themed with. I was mainly wondering wether the Hag, Mire Golem and Slurid are bunched together in that respect? Also are they neverborn? Seems she could be an arcanist with her big gribbly monster. Also, sorry, what's the deal with Pandora? Or has she simply not caught up with the rest in terms of followers/henchmen (aside from her creepy kids). One last question too! If I get the bayou gremlins (best models ever by-the-way!) can I use them? I'm going to order everything in bulk you see to save on shipping (I'm in Scotland) and want to make sure I'll be able to use everything I buy. cheers, sorry if these questions have already been answered elsewhere or are just silly.
