  3. For some particular reason Black Orc Games will be producing scale gongs. Apparently there is (or will be?) a mechanic for them in Hundred Kingdoms and Warband. No pics of the actual gongs yet.
  4. Hmmm, this one makes me wonder if something is happening with Griffin Miniatures.... (imaging linked in by yours truly, though not new mini's per se) Checked out both their web sites and didn't see anything announcing this change, or of anything about why Mag Ego is now selling the "remaining stock."
  5. As much as I'd like to think they're joking, I think they're dead serious.
  6. They updated the demo to include an entry form after you complete the game.

  11. Here ya go, 1 picture coming right up
  12. Apparently these have been available on ebay for a while now, but they how have a website you can order directly from. What's the product you ask, storage cases, and who doesn't need a storage case. What kind of puts me off on these is that they are £17 for a corrugated cardboard box with some foam trays. Their configuration at the aforementioned prices will hold 108 28mm minis. not too shabby, but I don't think I'd use these for going to a game. Now, some added functionality though is that they show a pic with some GW paint pots in one of their trays. I'd be interested if I didn't already have a storage for my paints. Here's some pics from their gallery:
  13. Apparently Lone Wolf Development (creator of the Army Builder and Card Vault computer programs) are working on some kind of super-tip-top-secret-hush-hush project. Whatever it is they plan to unveil it at GenCon, and even skipped Origins to work full-tilt on it. According to them it is a completely new product and is scheduled for release in October. <rampant speculation> I can't really think of what other kind of gaming aids they would make unless they're going into the RPG gaming aid market. Maybe it's a smoother interface for making Army Builder or Card Vault datafiles, which is somewhat of a daunting enterprise if you don't have a lot of time to devote to learning the ins and outs of the programs involved. Or it could just be a version of their existing software, my guess would be Card Vault as it hasn't had an update since April 2004. I will say that I've always like the Army Builder program, very handy and reduces arguments when dealing with people you don't normally play with.</rampant speculation>
  14. a picture is worth 1000 words Almost makes me wish I still played 40k. Anyway, these are available as either full kits or conversion kits for your Carnifex from Forgeworld.[url=http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/carnifexw.htm]
  15. Regiment Games has a new line of sci-fi alien minis. and some heavy armor... [url=http://regimentgames.com/orders.html] They were sculpted by Bob Olley and seem ok. They look kind of like a cross between camels and lizards with guns to me though. Also, until 24 July Regiment is running no shipping on orders over $20 and an free mini for every additional $15.
  16. Colonel Marbles made pretty much the same comment regarding cost in his web review this weekend. Here's the link
  17. What's the cure time like. I know you said the working time is longer, so I'm assumming the cure time is a little longer. Also assuming that "cooking" it like greenstuff will also work.
  18. http://www.reapermini.com/Greens Apparently a shipment of greens from Werner Klocke arrived. Mostly dwarves this time around (three of 'em) and one human. Here's some pics, more angles are at the link above. 19. How does it compare to greenstuff for things like filing, drilling, cutting, and such?
  20. OK, I tried the demo. Interesting game, more like a boardgame than your typical miniature wargame. It's a shame it's a collectible game with randomized boxes, otherwise I'd be tempted to give it whirl. Looks like something the wife and I could play through fairly quickly. Oh, and they don't make it obvious that you can enter to win the $1k. After you finish the demo, open the article titled "Dreamblade $1K Sweepstakes" where you are told that you entries start tomorrow (17 July). Presumably this will be where you go to enter your info for the drawing.
  21. Ok, well a chance at $1,000 USD. Wizards of the Coast has an online demo of their new Dreamblade line. Go check out the demo and enter for a $1,000 drawing. http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dbm/welcome The rest of the story at TGN is here...http://www.tabletopgamingnews.com/?p=2452
  22. Oof, yeah, definitely prefer the first head versus the ticked off Moses head. An impressive miniature to be sure.
  23. Couple items over at TMP and TGN today: For those in the UK, Wargames Workshop (about an hour outside London according to their site) will be having a 350 pt Hordes tournament. There's a 5 GBP entry fee, and 1st and 2nd place get a 10 GBP in-store voucher. Here's the announcement on TMP http://theminiaturespage.com/news/985439/ and the store's homepage http://www.wargamesworkshop.co.uk/ The Autoduelin' on I-64 Yahoo group is hosting a conversion challenge. Basically you take a die-cast 1970's muscle car and convert it into a post-apocalyptic gas-guzzlin' deal-dealing harbinger of death. Here's the announcement on TMP http://theminiaturespage.com/news/761743/ They don't make any mention on what the winner gets though, and I'm assuming you'd have to join said yahoo group. Tabletop Gaming News is having a contest with seven Urban War starter boxes as the prizes. All you do is go here http://www.tabletopgamingnews.com/contest.php, answer five questions, and they'll draw seven winners. Starts today and ends on the 28 July. Winners to be announced on 4 August. Nothing like a chance at free minis with little to no work! Corvus Belli released their Nomads models. I'm sure you can find them at your local store or favorite online outlet. TGN also has quite a bit of info regarding happenings scheduled for GenCon Indy (10 August through 13 August) here's the skinny http://www.tabletopgamingnews.com/?p=2435
