Sliver Chocobo
So would I be right in saying that outcasts symbol is a reference to guns and roses?
zKoTTe
Maybe... But a dagger is not a pistol, and a rose could also mean something else than than being related to Axl and co. So i doubt it Edited June 2, 2012 by zKoTTe
Q'iq'el
If anything Guns and Roses' name is a play on these older symbols.
zKoTTe
If anything Guns and Roses' name is a play on these older symbols. From their wiki The band coined its name by combining two of the group members' names. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Guns_N'_Roses
Q'iq'el
One doesn't exclude the other. The sword and the rose combination is rooted in Middle Ages, the dagger and the rose is a variant with a bit more sinister accent and one could easily see how guns would bring the same ethos to the American culture. So if you have two names which happen to combine with some prevalent current in our cultural background, wouldn't you use it and play on it? Or it may be pure coincidence, but it still works. It popably is coincidence, although it does work really well And am I the only that can't think of the Malifaux child and instantly think of "sweet child of mine" after this
Saint Norton
But then you remember how bad malifaux child is and just how good Sweet child of mine is... no comparison. Now I have that song stuck in my head...
