Do you need line of sight to "nominate" a model?

Hello!

Time for my rule check up, when you start realising you make up your own rules after a few years of playing...

SO, is there a difference between "targeting" and "nominating" a model? I seem to recall a thread somewhere which said there is no need of LoS to nominate a model (as opposed to targeting a model which requires LoS), which is how I've been playing it, but I'm wondering now if I just made it up, and I can't seem to find it.

I'm thinking for example of Marcus' Defend Me: "nominate a friendly model within 3" ".

As far as I'm aware unless the words target or LoS are mentioned then you don't need LoS to a model.

For what it's worth I agree with CunningStunt. Nominate seems to be more of a 'choose a model' as opposed to using the keyword 'target' which requires specific rules to do so.
