edonil
Just wanted to share some resources I've been using while writing lately...hopefully other people find them helpful. Not that many right now, but I think it'd be great if other people could add to this list. http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/HomePage Great for researching plot, characters, all sorts of stuff. Just keep in mind, Tropes Are Tools, not Bad Things. I've used it a lot more to find Tropes I want to use rather than ones I want to avoid (although I have used it for that too!) http://www.darkwaves.com/sfch/writing/ckilian/ I just found this one last night, and it's got a lot of great advice. Some of it is a bit redundant depending on how long you've been writing, but it's definitely a worthwhile read. http://www.mortaine.com/personal/MagicalWorldBuilder.pdf This is a 30 day exercise for World Creation. Kinda wish I had taken the time to do the exercise before writing, but eh. It's still helped a lot, would definitely recommend it. http://www.brentweeks.com/extras/writing-advice/ This is specifically from one author and his perspective on things, but he does have a lot of good to say. From Others: http://www.writingexcuses.com/ http://io9.com/freeadvice The links down the side. As I'm not a writer the tips they give might be complete rubbish though so let me know what you think. Haven't gotten to take a look at the first one just yet, but Steam's good people. The second one is pretty neat, I'd recommend it.

edonil
Found this to be pretty interesting, wanted to share it. It's meant for video games, but still applies to writing. Great little discussion on pacing, hope people will get something from it. http://penny-arcade.com/patv/episode/episode-07-pacing Edited November 11, 2011 by edonil
