Firing out of melee

Sorry if this appears to be a silly question, but I can't seem to find the answer in the rulebook. Is it possible to fire a ranged weapon while in the engagement of an enemy?

For example, if Nino was within 1" of say, a Terror Tot, could he fire his rifle against a Lelu 10" away?

Models can not make range attacks while engaged in Melee

Amusingly, I looked over that page close to 5-6 times, and never saw that bullet point. Stupid me. :club:
