TALENTS

Abilities

Horrid Nightmare: When this model is killed or Sacrificed, the model that last targeted it must win a Wp->13 or receive Paralyzed

Visage: Models targeting this model must win a Wp->Wp duel or the action immediately ends. This model receives :-fate if it has not Activated yet this turn.

Dreamer's Creation: This model may only be hired by crews containing The Dreamer. These models may immediately Unbury within 3" of a friendly The Dreamer whenever a friendly The Dreamer unburies.

Childlike: This model may only be Unburied when a friendly The Dreamer is in play. If a friendly The Dreamer is buried, Bury this model as well.

Best Friends: This model may discard a Control Card to use one of a friendly The Dreamer's (0) actions or spells.

Neverland: If a friendly The Dreamer is killed, ignore Childlike. This model may not cast (1)Nightmare for the rest of the Encounter. If this model was affected by (1)Nightmare before a friendly The Dreamer was killed, it loses all effects generated by that Spell.

Gunfighter [Cruel Dreams]

Actions

(1)Violent Slumber: Target model and this model engage in a Wp->Wp duel. If target model fails the duel, a friendly The Dreamer in play receives :+fate when targeting that model while that model is within 4" of this model. When a friendly The Dreamer is targeting that model, it does not have to flip for this model if this model is in melee with the target model.

(1)Forgotten Memory: Target model and this model engage in a Wp->Wp duel. If the Target model fails the duel, it receives a :-fate to all Df and resist flips when targeted by a friendly The Dreamer. Friendly The Dreamer deals +1 Dg when targeting the model. This effect ends if a friendly Lord Chompy Bits comes into play or at the Start Closing Phase. This model suffers 1 Wd if the target model failed to resist the Duel.

Spells

(1)Nightmare

(CC: 10:masks/ Rst: Wp/ Rg: 8")

This model gains one of the following depending on which model Characteristics surround it. You must choose the effect that matches the highest number of nearby models.

  • If there is one or more Living model within 4", this model gains Terrifying ->12. The range of this effect is 4".
  • If there is one or more Construct model within 4", this model gains (1)Machine Horror: Target Construct suffers 1 Wd and receives Slow. This model suffers 1 Wd.
  • If there is one or more Undead within 4", all friendly models ignore Hard to Wound. No model may take Slow to Die actions.
  • If there is one or more friendly Nightmare within 4", sacrifice this model. All friendly Nightmares make a healing flip and receive +1 to one statistic of your choice. You may discard a card and choose to take a different effect as long as there is one or more models with a different Characteristic.

(2)True Nightmare

(CC: 16:masks:crows / Rst: - / Rg::pulse 6.) Resisting this Duel counts as a Morale Duel. This duel ignores any immunities to Morale Duels. Nightmares do not need to resist this Spell. Sacrifice this model. Models failing to resist this spell receive -1 Df and :-fate to all Wp duels.

(0)Inflict Dreams

(CC: 14 :masks / Rst: Wp / Rg: 12)

Target model's Df, Ca, and Wp flips receive :-fate when defending against Nightmares.

Overall the idea seems good.

However, I feel that there is too much happening at once for such a cheap model without any form of model count control. Perhaps making it rare, or maybe even unique? Afterall, it is unburied for free when The Dreamer is unburied.

The spell Nightmare seems far too powerful and easy to cast, due to its toolbox nature and only needing a 4 of any suit. I am curious what made you decide to make 2 of the effects apply only to itself, whilst the remaining 2 apply to friendly models instead?

On a random tangent, the name makes me think of some hulking brute, that would Ht 3 and on a 50mm base, giving an alternative to Teddy.

With some tweaking however, this is something I would try out :)
