Rusty with Rust...

Ok, interesting question here...

I was playing a game with a friend and I attempted to use the spell effect "Rust" on Rusty Alyce, part of the the effect saids "This damage ignores Armor."

My question is: If I was to cast the spell at a target model in Hard Cover. Does the Armor for Hard Cover go away or still in effect?

I take it in steps

1. target construct or model with armor

2. damage 2/3/4 ignoring armor

3. slow

in this order you must first Target someone who has armor, being in Hard Cover does grant you armor but Only During an Attack therefor; they don't have armor and can't be targeted.

if they had armor to begin with then hard cover is Armor +1 which would stack and give Armor +2 on most things, then when calculating damage you thereby ignore all armor.
