Ramos and summoning spiders….

I apologize if this has been gone over before…. but I just wanted some clarification before Adepticon.

 

 

Summoning Spiders.

 

So you have to say how many spiders you're trying to summon before you flip, does that lock you into that if you flip higher, or say the red joker?

 

Say you have a 8 in your hand, You spend a stone for the extra tome, you say you're going to summon 2 spiders, knowing you can cheat to at least that 8. What if you flip the red joker, can you bring in 3 then? 

I don't think it works that way, but I could be wrong.

Side note. Been playing against another summon master, Kirai. holy crap, she can summon a 9pt model (hanged) into play. that is craziness.

I know you need a 13 to do it, but still.

No, you declare how many spiders you are summoning beforehand, and you either succeed at that or you don't. You don't get to change it after you flip. If you could, what would be the point of declaring in the first place?

Nicodem can summon the Hanged as well.

 

Or how about the upgrade that allows you to summon Rogue Necromancies?

I have a question on this too if someone could help me out-- the TN is 10 + 3 tome for each spider. I'm sure it has been covered but I couldn't find it and I am very new (had my first game yesterday) and didn't find it.

 

Two spiders is 16 tome tome or is it just 16 tome.

You need a tome for each spider, so two in your case (.. and so for three you need the tome that is "baked in", the card you play (flip/ cheat) needs to be a tome, and you would have had to stone pre-flip for the third)

Thanks! I thought I was correct, but I didn't want to assume. Aaaand I just found the answer in another topic too under new players forum. Thank you for clarifying for me!
