  1. Lots of puppet interaction there, would you try to fit a Serena Bowman in an Insomiac list? I know that many people swear by that model, but I feel like in Insomniac you need every LD model you can get, and her healing might not be as important in a Dreamer crew where almost everything can heal from Feed on Fear. Edit: This is not to say that Serena is bad, she has some awesome triggers and attacks, it's just that perhaps her healing potential after her nerf does not make her an auto-include.
  2. Yeah, you're right. i was just thinking that Vasilisa excels at things that are done better by masters other than dreamer, but the post is about dreamer anyway, my bad.
  3. Well, yeah... but if you have to play a game where you know that the focus will be on brawling in the center why not take something like Nephilim?
  4. Looking at Vasilisa's card i really can't think of a reson to take her over WW. She can remove markers, but that's hardly going to be better than more reliable summoning and mobility. @SEVin which pools would you pick Insomniac over OG Dreamer?
  5. @Regelridderen Thanks, i'll look into it when i'll get my hands on those models. Perhaps ancient pact might be a bit overkill given the already amazing Insomniac "draw", but then again more choices are always better than less choices. I'll try giving Inhuman Reflexes to chompy if i end up not taking AP though, moving a 50 mm base through enemy models sounds great.
  6. @Antipodean Thank you for the exhaustive reply. I was thinking about a "core" of one insidious madness, two daydreams with ancient pact and a stitched. That should leave me with 27 spare stones, enough wiggle room to adapt to any situation. Are ancient pacts on daydreams a good idea? They are very squishy and once they die the upgrades are gone, but any opponent wanting to get rid of those upgrades would have to waste actions and resources to kill two 3 ss insignificant models which would usually hide in the backfield.
  7. After a couple of weeks I finally settled on a master, I bought The Dreamer Core Box, Insomnia and Deep Sleep. I would ask for advice from experienced Dreamer players. I'm mostly interested on tips on how to effectively play the Insomniac version ( I don't have the actual insomniac model, but I won't be playing in tournaments and I prefer the original sculpt anyway), since the Lucid Dream action which most of the keyword has seems a bit counter-intuitive in "vanilla" dreamer. From what i've gathered up until now: Dreamer should be activated last (or as late in the turn as possible) to capitalize on the mobility offered by his Insomnia ability. His focus should be on building a good hand and manouvering Chompy around the board. How does "Made real" work? Can i use it once for every nightmare activation or once per dreamer activation? How can the oneirophobia trigger on "Lead Nightmare" be used effectively? I was thinking to bury models to keep them safe while staying on a target, but perhaps there are more effective uses? A stitched together seems good to control removed cards to better dictate when dreamer pops in and out, and to benefit from any high card which might get removed from the game when dreamer swaps the control hand. Gamble your life seems like something which might go real bad real fast, does it usually work or is it better left alone? Are alps any good in an Insomniac Crew? I get it, they can get +1 dmg per friendly model buried, but the only way to bury models int his crew is Oneirophobia, which seems unlikely to go off more than once per turn; 5 stones for a 1/3/4 damage track might be a bit too much compared to other minions such as stitched together and insidious madnesses which seem better for their cost. Do you know any combos and syngergies which might not be apparent at a first glance? Are there any models which should be hired in almost every situation (Coppelius and Serena look very good imho), or models which should almost never be considered?
  8. Perhaps, but wasn't his whole shtick being immune to the brilliance? It was the only reason the hungering darkness let him live. I'll pick up malifaux burns and read into it some more, perhaps it'll make more sense. Thank you for the answers!
  9. Hey all, I'm trying to get into Malifaux and i'm faced with the task of choosing a master to start. Now, i always try to get something which i find captivating in both lore, looks and gameplay, but I don't understand how the new titles fit into the lore of the game. Are the new titles the "evolution" of the masters (i.e: the direction towards which their lore is heading) or are they a "what if" version of the lore? I find Jakob Lynch very interesting (even though i have no idea how the honeypot keyword currently fares on the table), but I would not buy his crew if the "dark bet" Lynch is going to be the canonic version in the lore, since I don't really like the idea of Jakob giving in to the brilliance.
