  2. Here's a little insight into how crew building is going to work in the league. Each player will grow their crew throughout the duration of the league - starting at a 4 model Henchman-led crew, ending at a full 50ss Master-led crew. This will be managed by each player adding a box to their roster for every two rounds, meaning that you only have to add one Malifaux set every four weeks! Here are the suggested ways this will work. Some masters and keywords are a bit different in the way their boxes are broken up so if there's a crew that takes your fancy - let me know and we can figure out the best plan for that crew!
  3. Please find attached the Rules Pack, including league dates and sign-up details. Welcome to Malifaux rules pack.pdf
  4. Wyrdos based in and around Huddersfield, If you've been waiting to take the leap into Malifaux, this is your opportunity to learn and explore this brilliant game. This escalation league is designed for new players to become familiar with the system and slowly build up their collection. Current players are also welcome and are encouraged to use this league as an opportunity to delve into a new crew or faction. The league will run over roughly 3 months and 6 rounds. For every two rounds, each player will bolster their crew by adding a new box. Painting will be encouraged and the pace of the rounds is designed to give players a good chance at getting their models painted before they see action. More details to follow soon... Please express your interest by responding to the event on Facebook (https://fb.me/e/63mR1bDaY) or responding to this thread. Feel free to ask any questions!
  5. Pre-registration is now open. Please register beforehand if possible as it really helps speed things up on the day. https://bag-o-tools.web.app/register The pools are also up on Bag o' Tools. We will be sticking with GG3 for this (even if GG4 drops on Wednesday) - don't want to be springing a completely unfamiliar set of strats and schemes on you a few days before, especially as we have a few newer players joining.
  6. The event is now at capacity. There's a possibility that a small number of additional places will be available at the end of the month so I am starting a Reserves list. Let me know if you would like me to put you on the waiting list. EDIT: Capacity increased to 22. One spot left.
  7. Join us for the first-ever Malifaux Yorkshire Rumble! This will be a ranked two-day Malifaux event, taking place in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire, on 6th-7th July 2024. 11. As a UK-based player, I would like to see clocks implemented at the event, especially with it being targeted at an international audience. As far as I am aware, there wasn't any 'formal' consultation after the previous event regarding clocks - I know some conversations were had by a handful of teams but hardly any concrete data. I can't speak for my teammates, but personally, I think clocks would have made the event better and brought it a step closer to being seen as a truly competitive international event - especially given the feedback from the international communities. Regarding pairings, I think this definitely needs to be addressed given that concerns were raised prior to the event and the issues were evident at the event - we will hopefully see this in the rules pack. 🙂 I do think involving the international communities more would really elevate this event to the status it strives for!

  13. In the photos from Gen Con, we saw what looks to be a Rotten Harvest version of Stargazer so I would be surprised if this doesn't mean a second Rotten Harvest box is coming. From this week's Waldo:
  14. With the July 2023 errata now out, I can confirm the restrictions on Madness of Malifaux content will be lifted. I will be updating the Rules Pack to reflect this in due course. I know emotions are probably running high after the errata (I may or may not have shed a tear) and the opinions on what the errata will mean for the game will differ. I by no means believe that all of the "problems" have been addressed (and Wyrd have acknowledged the same) but I think the changes are enough to see a shift at the "top". Happy to answer any questions and am always up for a chat about the errata if you want to PM me!
  15. A couple of updates to the rules pack: - Best painted will be a Rotten Harvest, Nightmare Edition or Twisted Alternatives model - Players will receive an additional 5 raffle tickets for coming in costume (preferably Malifaux-related)

  20. Thanks for the feedback, everyone. Going to stick with a blanket Madness of Malifaux ban for this as it is the most indiscriminate way of keeping the gap between top and bottom crews as small as possible. Whilst I am not against the idea of a curated restrictions list, there will always be something some people will disagree with and I think this is the fairest way.
  21. For those who are attending, please take a minute to answer this (very) short survey on which restricted format you would prefer: https://forms.gle/CsxgzJK4zhWjVd8o7
  22. Posting here on the off chance there's some coming through/near Sheffield who is able to give two of us a lift there and back (petrol money and snacks provided) - all trains between Sheffield and Lincoln have been cancelled for this day so we are no longer able to get there.
  23. With less than 2 weeks to go, I thought I'd start ramping up the hype for this by giving you the Strategy and Scheme pools. The newer players who attended my last event fed back that getting the pools early meant they could familiarise themselves with the games in advance and as this will be the first event for most people using chess clocks, I want to cut down as much on setup time on the day as possible. Enjoy! Round 1 Wedge - Guard the Stash Assassinate, Sabotage, Load Em Up, Public Demonstration, In Your Face Round 2 Flank - Carve a Path Breakthrough, Vendetta, Leave Your Mark, Set the Trap, Secret Meetup Round 3 Standard - Covert Operation Breakthrough, Hidden Martyrs, Spread Them Out, Catch and Release, In Your Face
  24. As this event will use strategies and schemes from all Gaining Grounds seasons, what strategies and/or schemes would you like to see make a comeback? Not making any promises but feel free to post any requests here and I will consider them!
