Since Manos' ability Siphon Power does irreducible damage, can the appendage upgrade be discarded (even if the damage reduction does not apply) ?

I have a question regarding the ability "the old ways" of the Savage keyword which can be used for duels without any fate modifiers. If the Savage model attacks a manipulative model, but compensates with focus, should we consider there are two fate modifiers (that result in a straight flip), or that there is none since according to page 9 of the rulebook, they "cancel" each other ?

I don't really understand how the FAQ and the alp ability "made to kill" combine : 

The alp ability : Once per activation. After this model is placed, it may take a  action after resolving the current action.

The FAQ : 

• 12. Can Once per Activation effects occur outside an Activation, such as during the Start or End Phases?
• a) No. Effects that are restricted to Once per Activation can only be used during a model’s Activation, i.e. Steps C.1 – C.4 of the Activation phase (pg. 21).

Since the alp has no ability to place itself, is there actually no way to use his ability ? I thought he could attack when he unburies but this is outside his activation...

Any thought ?

I have a question on the "copy" abilities. For example, the changeling's action "just like you" allows him to select one of the target's non- Tactical action that doesn't attach upgrades or list a model by name". Should I consider I can copy

- any attack action ( or not) or any tactical action that isn't  ,

or

- that I can copy only tactical actions that are not  ?
