Have these all slipped? I can't seem to find them anywhere.

They won’t hit store shelves until this weekend/next week since releases come out the end of each month (and the July 4th holiday may impact some stores in the US).

  2. Join us as Haven Games & Hobbies holds its second ever Malifaux tournament on October 29th!!

The tournament will be using mostly GG3 strats & schemes. We’ll also be using the GG3 doc for the latest guidelines on summoning & scheme definitions.

One major change for this tournament will be fixed faction, fixed keyword for the day. Hiring restrictions include no OOK hires and at most 1 versatile model hired in. No limit on summons, upgrades, or swapping titles between games however. That’s right, choose your favorite keyword and see if they have what it takes to win the day!

Madness of Malifaux models that are in the app by October 28th will be allowed, with proxies approved by the TO.

Registration is $15 (includes pizza lunch after round 1). Doors open at 10:00 am EST. Each round will be 2.5 hours with the first round starting at 10:45 am EST.

Every player will go home with a prize! And with us celebrating Halloween, the best dressed of the day will also snag a prize. (It’s a costume contest!!!)

    Here are the pools!

    Round 1
    Deployment: Wedge
Strategy: Trick or Treat! (Real candy will be provided)
Schemes: Catch and Release, Set the Trap, Secret Meetup, Vendetta, In Your Face

    Round 2
    Deployment: Flank
    Strategy: Guard the Stash
Schemes: Spread Them Out, Secret Meetup, Assassinate, Sabotage, Hidden Martyrs

    Round 3
    Deployment: Standard
    Strategy: Covert Operation
Schemes: Hidden Martyrs, Load ‘Em Up, Leave Your Mark, Set the Trap, Public Demonstration

  3. It works. When an action has a model discard a card it is that model discarding from the hand, unless the action says otherwise, like Klaus’s ability (page 7 of the rulebook on the app, bottom Waldo callout).

So in the case where the prospector flips a 0-5, he could remove a scheme marker and draw a second card instead of discarding.

    One thing.

Is it just me, or can you theoretically get 5 VP from Cursed Objects (5 curses, 1VP/kill-remove/turn) and only 4 VP from Carve a Path (2x Markers worth a max of 4pts) from Guard the Stash (total of 4x Markers not entirely in your half) and from Covert Operations (4x Markers which can be claimed)??

Should Cursed Objects be scorable turns 2-5 (capping it at 4VP)? Or is this an intentional thing?

The core rules state no player may score VP on turn 1. So it’s not necessary to state that under the Strategy text.

When Leveticis performs Death Touch he deals irreducible damage.  Necrotic Decay adds to the damage output, but does not state that the additional  damage is irreducible.

Am I correct in assuming the additional damage can be reduced by other sources?

Necrotic Decay modifies whatever damage is being done as part of resolving the action’s effects. For Levi that means increasing the amount of irreducible damage being done, and is not two separate damage sources.

If the trigger were an After Succeeding trigger then it would do a separate instance of damage, which would be non-irreducible damage and could be reduced by soulstones/armor/etc.

So I don't know much about the Witch Hunter keyword but these seem like pretty strong models for 7 points. If I'm reading their King's Glory trigger right, combined with their Heat Of Battle ability, they should be able to make 3 stat 6 ranged attacks which generate 3 more ranged attacks from a friendly model, say Sonnia. That seems like a strong activation! Obviously requires a bit of set up and luck, a scheme marker, some high mask cards and a nearby ally with a ranged attack, but with their Run And Gun ability, their threat range is pretty big.

Definitely strong assuming the stars align. Comparatively,  the bandit keyword has run n gun with life of crime, so is generally costing less to get a similar number of shots. Plus looking at it differently, Hexes just have rapid fire, which is already in key on Sam. (Ignoring that card discards in a Witch Hunter are at a premium due to little/no card draw) The mask trigger would be more reasonable at once per activation though.

But geez Sonnia has so many 7ss options at this point, not sure when these guys are making the cut over others (maybe into heavy armor crews?).

And the model looks like Dashel to me, but Lucius is also 6 letters...

Yeah.. I’d guess that’s a Sergeant in the image.

But the single 6 characters as a name, one big question mark and then 3 other black question marks does feel like a Lucius/Nexus combo.

Either way, I’d be super happy with another Guild reveal!

having 2 masters in a box with their henchmen seems a good idea except this will mean i won't get them because i don't want the other master in the box. due to none of the masters being combined within the factions i do play this is a massive turn off for me.

Using 2 of 3 models in the box is a pretty good rate compared to some other single Keyword boxes.

I’d also say this packaging is easier on consumers in terms of affordability and for shops in terms of keeping SKU count lower. There’s no good way to box all these models that will make everyone happy, but I think this small bundle approach is the best.

Now that I've looked over this I have to wonder. Endless slumbers unpleasent dreams trigger is when resolving.... So you'd do damage even if you lose. What kind of damage flip would you flip if you lost?

When resolving triggers still require you to win the duel. An After Resolving trigger would happen if you lost.

  11. Was wondering when you'd make it to Guild.

I think Internal Investigation is a must buy, I bring Alan, an Investigator, & a FW in nearly every list with Lucius. After that it's tough since I like a single changeling, or Grimwell, or the Rider.

For Lady J, I think for a new player, her core box, Six Feet Under (LM & Exorcists), and Stewie are what I'd recommend starting with. While Jury is great, she's more a tech piece and Domadores won't shine unless you're bringing the Rider/Emissary for Undead Obeys. And Recruiters stink, plain & simple.  Meanwhile Lone Marshal is a near auto take for J and Stewie can help focus stack early while providing heals & roadblocks late game. Lone Marshal & Stewie are both good picks with other keywords as well.
