We have received a total of one battle report after the changes to Dashel (that game ended in a tie). We still see him and the Guards a worthwhile crew. Please prove us wrong by reporting games so that we have more data.
Maybe the intent was to counter balance the summoning with a discard but I can already tell you with the triggers to the Dispatcher to get an enemy scheme marker, the TN number and ram needed for the summon, and the discard needed for the focus you are down a few cards and a soulstone early if the cards don’t go your way. If you can’t get the enemy scheme marker then you are +2 on the TN and need a Ram. I was just putting the cards and models in front of me last night and working on the engine and realized the Concentrate needs a discard.
I have another game lined up Thursday Ill post how it goes.
Question, can the Dispatcher make himself an enemy scheme marker?
Edits for spelling and grammar.

Did you always have to discard a card? You are taking an action and forced to discard? Why the discard you have to be within 6 already.
Shouting Orders (Guard): Friendly Guard Minions within 6 may discard a card to treat the Concentrate Action as a Bonus Action

Going to give Hoffman a go tomorrow. Lucius with LadyJ, Lawyers and Agent 46 were oppressive opposite Peridita.
I can see Lady J in a lot of lists as a second master depending on the pools.

I guess I'm alone about being excited by Cornelius.
I’m looking forward to Cornelius. Austringers and Pathfinders are interesting. Traps that can move? I’m curious as to how home on the range works as well.

If you are new to war games or Malifaux go with Lucius. He can be good in some pools. The thing he does no other model can do is put out the interact while engaged aura. You can easily get Search the Ruins last turn.
Nellie is a top tier competitive model and probably the best Guild master. She can do so much. Propaganda, Hot off the presses, Delegation, activation control, card draw, move models around. Great in most pools.
I’m a fan of both and played a lot of Lucius, Nellie is superior but I’d start off with Lucius first.

You need to lose the duel to gain evidence and you cannot declare triggers if you relent the duel. Priority is to save good cards for turn 2 so you dont want to cheat if possible. This list is not a "fun list" per se, it is in fact pretty competitive and is indeed funto play 😃 I usually manage to save most my cards in hand (keep good, discard bad), gain 2 stones and still manage to position myself for my benefit for second turn.
Glad you mentioned this. I was playing it wrong allowing my defensive trigger while relenting.

The model with the conditions determines the order that they are resolved if they have the same timing.
If you've got a Yokai with Flicker +1 and Flaming Demise, the controller of the Yokai can choose to first lower his Flicker at the end of the turn and be Sacrificed which would cause Flaming Demise to never get resolved or he can allow Flaming Demise to resolve first. -
With Flaming demise when the condition ends all models take damage within range of the model at the end of the turn.
If you have a condition where the model is also sacrificed at the end of the turn does the sacrifice or the Flaming demise go first? Curious if the model is sacrificed at the end of the turn and has demise would the other models still take damage? Also curious because if the model dies from the Flaming demise damage all models around it take 6 damage instead of 3.

You have to use it all at once. When a condition is removed, its entire value is removed.
Thanks

Once Per Turn Actions
Some Actions note that they can only be taken "once per Turn." This only refers to the individual model. Although the model may only take the Action once per Turn, other models may still take the Action. Can a model with Obey force an action that is stated it can be taken only once per turn? The wording on Obey, controlled by this model’s controller seem the model using Obey could do it.
-
If a model has Focus +2 can you use one focus or to you have to spend both when you declare focus. Just curious if you have to removed the entire condition for two positive flips for one attack or can you split them up between attacks.
1) Focus: The model gains the following Condition until the end of the Turn: "Focused +1: This model may remove this Condition when declaring an Action to gain a number of + to the Action's duel and damage flip equal to the value of the Focused Condition removed."

Promises doesn't boost your damage anyway so even if they counted as actions you wouldn't get the to the damage.
Good point. Thanks

No. They are not taking a Ml action. In both cases they are triggers to a Df duel, and just do a damage flip.
Thanks. I was pretty sure that was the case but in Sidir’s case the Attack Action is named in the description and the damage track is the same at the MI attack in both cases.
-
Is Sidir Alchibal’s Riposte considered an MI action? It has the name of the Mrityu blade in the description. If that is the case is Lady J’s Riposte an MI action?

Self Loathing on Candy for example, it has CA5 with a mask and no TN. No triggers. What is the point of even adding a mask?

For the most part, yes. Pandora for example has an attack that uses Wp and is resisted by Wp. Zipp has an attack that is resisted by opponent's Ht. Most things attack with Ml, Sh or Ca and most things are resisted by Df or Wp.
Thanks for the explaination. I knew I was getting a little to excited for using Promises with CA actions versus WP.

When you're flipping a duel you're doing a duel that's the same as the stat you're using.
Fransisco attacks with his sword, Ml against opponent's Df. It's a Ml duel for Fransisco and Df duel for the opponent. Same if things get reversed, Fransisco is doing a Df duel and attacker is doing a Ml duel.
Promises doesn't buff Df duels so you don't get +flips when doing Df duels.
See page 24 small rulebook:
Ok, this seems to imply that when I use a CA against someone’s WP I’m in a CA duel so Promises wouldn’t apply and the defender is in a WP duel.
The short answer seems to be someone using promises would get positive flips for offensive MI attacks and positives for defense when resisting an opponents attack using WP if I’m interpreting your explaination correctly. Seems an attacker can never be in a willpower duel only CA and MI duels. A defender can only ever be in a DF, WP or sometimes a WK duel.
-
If you gain Positive Flips to all MI and WP duels does that mean a positive for defensive flips when an MI or WP attack made against you as well?
I’ve only ever seen Promises used for offense in MI duels. But it does say all duels.

No, the condition itself doesn't have a + in the name.
Got it Wk +2, meaning the walk value printed on the card plus 2. It will always be the same result. Thanks.

Can you cast Uppers twice on a target giving it +4 Total for the turn?
-
Thanks guys that makes much more sense now.

The in the target number doesn't "use up" or remove the in the duel total when you figure out if you meet the requirements. You can use the same suit values for both the target number and the trigger.
I must be missing something basic. I would need at least a 6 of Rams for the attack to even go off. If I get say a 10 of Rams the attack goes off giving me a 16 in my duel total with a Rams. How could I then ever declare a mask if I need a Rams for the attack even to go off?
-
Question on how would Secret Assets ever get to use its mask trigger.
Sh 6 : TN 12 Rams : Rst DF : Rg 12
If this attack has a target number of 12 with a Rams to pass how would you get to use the mask trigger if the TN requires a Rams to pass?
-
Can you stack Focus? For example can you focus twice with the same model to get a potential double positive on the attack duel and damage flip?
Looking at the Doppleganger. Can you focus twice to have +2 focus with your (1) actions then use the zero action to borrow an attack from A model with +2 focus?
The Dispatcher and Dashal summoning engine question.

Summary - You push a Guard model two within the Dispatcher using Consolidate Power. You hit the Mask trigger for Internal Affairs. You place and enemy scheme marker in base contact with the Dispatcher because of Aethervox Broadcaster then the it takes a point of damage and draws a card. This is all for setting up an enemy scheme marker for Dashal’s summon.
The Dispatcher Bonus action
Consolidate Power 10" 5
Friendly Minion only. Push the target up to 4" towards a friendly model in its LoS.
Mask Trigger - Internal Affairs: Choose a friendly Scheme Marker within 2" of the target. Place an enemy Scheme Marker in base contact with the target, then remove the friendly Scheme Marker and draw a card.
If the pushed model is within 2 of the Dispatcher could the Dispatcher take 1 damage and drop an enemy scheme marker using Aethervox Broadcaster
Dispatcher ability
Aethervox Broadcaster: Friendly Guard models may treat this model as a friendly Scheme Marker. If an effect would remove the Scheme Marker, this model suffers 1 damage.
