Hi everyone, after long resistance some friends managed to pull me into Malifaux, so i've bought my first crew and i'm in the process of getting it painted.
As might be clear by the title, what caught my eye was the hired swords pack, might be because where i come from (warhammer....obviously) female models are nowhere to be seen and i wanted the challenge, or because well.... there were no guns on the artwork, and i love melee.
Anyways, i'm reading a lot here, tons of pretty useful informations and tricks, but i have some questions, of the style type.
I think i understand what would be most beneficial from an ingame standpoint (i think my eyes will bleed if i read librarian or malifaux child once more), but i'm not overly competitive, leaning more on the visual side of things. Obviously when minis are on the table i play to win, but i'm not overly fussed in making the bestest list for it. Win or lose is always fun and beer for me.
So, what would you think is better from a cohesive visual standpoint in a Viks crew after the core box? Vanessa of course, but i don't see things like Lazarus, fleshy constructs or freikorps being so viasually appealing.
Maybe Bishop, the convicts i kind of like, Hans? To keep a mercenary band type of look.
And would that be a really bad idea, or a game is still fun and playable with what could be a less than ideal crew?
