  1. Na, was just shocked, since WarmaHordes is returning here and I now still can't my Local store, since I don't want to mix it up with the english --- though as you put it, if it helps the game (and in this case I am talking about malifaux), I am more happy about it
  2. When I started, they used to come with english AND german cards. Not wild on playing german, with the infernals being only available in english.
  3. Wait -- they now remove the english cards ;__;?
  4. Probably too early to tell, since not all shops would stock english + german [or any other combination]; will the english card will be always included, or should I make myself ready to import?
  5. Well I guess I have to swallow my words then... ... ...
  6. I just wanted to share this. Though I know it is NOT the ideal model (but I read some had good results with Sparks); not only was it great for you all voicng it; I got some extra money today, which I am invested in some Whiskey Golem; even if he might end up only on display (I will sure give him some tries, though); there is at least the added bonus of finally painting something big again :D.
  7. Wyrd might not to have the capacity to translate in German, so they likely need a partner. For Privateer Press it's Ulysses in Germany, which probably do the translation. FFG's X-Wing is translated by Heidelbaer in Germany - which I can say for certain. If Wyrd start themselves to translate, they might to appease other markets; France, Italy, etc. so you really have to think about it, if you want to pour in the resources. In addition, you might want to have someone ready, who can help out in the rules department and than there is customer support to boot. As you see, sadly it's not all just translations. I can understand that someone doesn't want to play a game in english. I'm myself for Germany (but I enjoy playing games in their original language, because of the support and added benefits that come with it). Since you are posting here, I take a leap and assume that you want to bring more gamers into the Malifaux fold, who might not be able to deal with a game in english. I would translate it for them (if they are interested), but I can understand that not everybody is thrilled about some additional chores... Just see below... (happy to be w[r]ong)
  8. Hello, I hope you are still active. Shadowflame redirected me from this thread to yours, so maybe you can help me out ;). Before I begin I send out a little disclaimer; I am collecting Gremlins and want one box to break out from; with that let's begin. Every game I Play I love some casting warriors, not Paladins though. For instance in Diablo 1 I made a spellheavy warrior, which is fun. I like the balance that comes with it, though I like the spell side a bit more and if I can't create a hybrid in games, I go with the casting class (like the Wizard in Diablo 3; though I tend to go for magical sword and off-hand). So I should not mention that I play Diablo 1 and Diablo 3. I like Si-Fi; I like Fantasy, but I also like when both meet (like the scriptor in Warhammer 40k). I also enjoyed some of the Final Fantasy entries, IV; V; VI; VII and IX. Currently I like playing Wizard Poker (read: Hearthstone) and though I played the heck out of druid, currently I enjoy some MidRange Hunter; Freezemage and Control Warrior... especially the Warrior feels now with some cards like the sorcerer-warrior I always like. I always love it, when there is something unique or a new twist to an old thing, or if things are a funny hommage to an icon (for example I painted a Circle of Oboros Gorax as Blanka from Street Fighter). Yep I have Circle models and it's not the call of the wild that sucked me in, but that the generals are all casters and to some extent fighters. I also love the Legend of Zelda and the most stunning entry for me was NOT Ocarina of Time but A Link to the Past and Windwaker (both tied). I usually don't do well with Sandbox games, where you have too much freedom to do, because I just get overwhelmed with all the decisions, though I always try to do it. Though I played some WoW; I am happy that I just don't do it any more. Guess what I played, right mage, but Arcane mage (my prime was during the WotLK Expansion, but I started with Burning Crusade). Oh and my current stance is that some internethypes are well overrated (like Zombies; Pirates vs. Ninjas; etc.) so yeah. Also I have fun with some sidescrolling beat em ups like Castle Crashers, I enjoyed the Green Knight (poison damage) the most. Again, spell-casting knights! (I guess you get the theme). I take my liberty with painting, so all my Gremlins have yellow skin Color (I just don't see why I should invest Money in miniatures just to paint them exactly like they "should" be (I'm looking at you Warhammar [40k] purists!) I had a weakness for Magic (but I couldn't justify playing a deck of 60 cards or so and gathering up a pile of cardbox), but green, black and blue had been my most beloved colors, with me having played lastly a black-blue deck. I think that is why I like Star Wars; especially the Jedi and Sith order, again "spellslinging knights". Well this is it from me. Hope to hear from you soon(ish)
  9. In any case, it won't hurt... there might be another master down the line - you'll never know.
  10. I will try it out now. Thanks for linking this
  11. It might be, but I am adaptable... I would not say that I have a prefered plastyle. For example I have a small Circle Crew in Hordes, had a Blood Angels 40K army, since they had Caster Cybots... it really depends from game to game. I like Brewies "passive" style of just let your opponent pass out quite a bit (since it is something new), but I am looking Forward to field Ophelia for some ranged shooty, shooty and looking forward to the masters of magics (Wong). I just need some glowing inouts, since it helps to decide where to dip your toe. All have something exciting on Malifaux... so it is hard to just pick one...
  12. It is great to here that Lenny seems not to be that mandatory... So kudos. Currently I want to run her with Merris (so I can drop scheme marker, while shooting) and if I go down... Well Pere and Merris make sure there won't be any survivors to brag about the victory. As for Trixie Belle... oh well... currently I want to try out to pick Sammy with Brewie and go for hard on card denial with Brewmaster's and Wesleys Pick your poison and Sammy's Jinx. If I get intiatve they gonna have a hard time, with them really doing anything without getting a decent flip. -- Well this is the theory, but bad things can happen.
  13. Don't worry I can make my own slogan and if you go beyond, I happily listen
  14. To keep this thread tidy I made another thread to get me excited for a crew that is outside of my faction (though your points are noted and Zoraida looks diffeent enough to warrant more than a glimpse). - - - - - - - - In addition to keep the suggestions already given (for optimal setup) to heart, but not thinking to heart about getting it now and just see where ever the interest drifts me; I asked my Henchman, if we could scale a little bit down, so THAT extra model that works best, might not factor at all and I can ease my way in. Guess this was me wanting too much also (like "WORK NOW!") and lost the track of just roll with it and having fun... So again, Kudos to everyone voicing in... I am a bit more excited again about my upcoming Sammy... since I have some plans for her in my Brewmaster Crew...
  15. Since my local Henchman plays a lot of Ressers and the Seamus crew was the one that introduced me to the game, I am immune to the lure
  16. It's not that I wrote that to shelf my Gremlins, because they can't do "A"... or sth. I just want to see other models on the table. I took a deep dive with Gremlins already starting with Malifaux, but sometimes you want to swim back to the surface, get a nice breath of fresh air, just to delve deeper back again ;). The Gremlins being the water and the fresh air the non-Gremlin Crew. The "It might be not their playstayle" is more of a "fallback" thingie, since I am inexperienced and I might discover more tricks :).
  17. Okay - here I am still demanding from you. In my last thread I hinted that I want to break out from Gremlins (but felt unhappy about various aspects). Since I want those two subjects free from each other (since the last thread is a little bit on the ;__; side) I created this topic. Since I don't want to fall back in the "the ideal crew"-trap and become unhappy again; I will take a different approach now. It is the same I had with Brewmaster and the same I had with Ophelia, having with perodering Sammy and now having with Wong. The concept took me by surprise. All I had in a picture in my mind with seeing them... it might be not their playstyle, but this was me having seen them: Brewmaster: Play drunken Gremlins and drink with your enemy... also Kung Fu, why not? Ophelia: I shoot you and than I shoot your corpse and than I shoot the remains of your corpse and than... Sammy: Look at that adora... ah Voodoo! Get that out! Wong: Look at all the Fireworks and Magics I have. I will enjoy them, you won't. Burt Jebsen: I am all your 80s heroes mashed together and I have a big gun... and that good lookin' hairdo. Since I became A LITTLE more seasoned I figured out that expectations don't go with the actual playstyle. So for the sake of keeping up with that I closed the PMF page and rather would love you to give me the thing that got you fired with non-Gremlin Crews So I can get my break-out crew and might get excited over a thing I didn't get excited, because I read too much tactica. So rather than agonizing what goes well with what I want to take now the adbice several players gave me and just become excited again. Heck even if I'm later worried I don't have to Play 50 SS games and can it tone down and go from there... So please Forum, take it away. list your non-Gremlin Crew you had been excited about before purchasing and tell me with one sentence why so. (see example above). Okay, this should it be for me... honestly...
  18. Well... it is not important, but it's also not that way, where I just put on some minis and go for the lulz. I think it's best to put it that I want to have a fighting chance. I guess it's not funny for the opponent either (if he does not revel in that fact), if he steamrolls me and we both have that weird feeling, that we might have better invested the time in something else than just gathering up, unpack the miniatures and repack after 30 minutes.... For example, the last game I lost, due to not having initiative and my opponent killing off my Brewmaster. It was tense... but the rounds before I had initiative and gosh did my opponent drink on the house... So I had these moments where I could hold him off (and this is me having 3-4 games in) and remove his hand with Pick your Poison! and if bad things hadn't happened to me... it could very well have gone another way
  19. Kudos to everyone here... yes, I feared that I might lost myself (due to inexperience) that the optimal build is required. Thanks that everyone elivated that fear. Also Kudos to a staff not recommending MOOOAAR boxes to upgrade existing boxes (but buy ( ) and ) play what seems fun to me... Guess I take it slow from here on out...
  20. Whelp, yes here I am (again) and still a bit overhelmed and generally unhappy with my situation. There are two things I'm unhappy about and I'm writing this to: a] gather advice how to deal with the current situation b] just to let it out Though roll your eyes gently while reading this. So there it is. I caught the Malifaux bug, bought two Crewboxes and some models, but still am a bit unhappy. First off to fully get the most of my boxes I need to buy two other Crew Boxes (to get Lenny for Ophelia and Trixie Belle for The Brewmaster), but feel unexcited about getting the Crew Boxes the suggested models are in, in total. Sure I could always proxie the model with the wave Cards, but it's honestly not the same, as with playing with the actual models. Also I know thee are some vendors that sell single models, but with me not being in the same country, paying for shipping and customs come close to the price of the box, which would be a bit insane of a price to pay... I delayed that with probably getting a box I feel more excited about (Wong is my current favourite and actually I AM excited about finishing up Opelia and my preorders, so I can justify to invite more plastics into my house), but I now regard the other boxes as incomplete, since I get the "STRONGLY RECOMMENDED" vibe from the Forum, which lowers my overall excitement for those boxes again. I still love them for what they are... but feel a bit more at a loss here... Also I want to break out from the Gremlins once in a while (since I want to spice things up for me), but I must admit -- though there are many helpful persons out there, being VERY Patient with me (bless all of you) -- with getting also tipps that those are working good with Henchman / Enforcers from other boxes. which I am not all to happy about it myself. Mostly I think this is on me, want to make everything perfect. Maybe I should just roll with the game... but again, I feel a bit more lost, when I go against (every) advice. Maybe it is that I indeed have too many options and am too excited getting new toys, but to be honest with you; I enjoy painting up the models and show my progress by wanting to play the crew I just finished. In any case. Thank you for reading this and giving helpful advice how to deal with my current situation (or maybe speak from your own experience). - Kobayashi
  21. With me having the Brewmaster, guess what would not be that bad... the things that areadvocating for Lynch is a] I have the Brew Master and TT is a given b] If I go Neverborn, Zoraida is always there on the Gremlins side. c] The models to buy for seem all infaction in contrast to Daw Okay, what is the extend of the Stitched together... from the outside they might not seem to fit in...
  22. Yeah I know. But it is more a Thing of wanting to have the miniatures also assembled and painted up and a Little bit of a budget side... I've talked to someone at Wyrd Place to get a nice list of a Jack Crew that makes lists of different models, but I concur, the only big downside is that is a buy in, in a lot of different factions :(! Though I love how he plays (just giving you a lot of bad options). Though I also love what I read on the PMF page about Lynch. That is why I'm also looking for a 50 SS list with the afformentioned requirements. I know that I am difficult with that, though :(.
  23. Thanks for the Intel about the depleted. I know Malifaux is about having more Masters, but with Gremlins being my chosen main; I want just a Little side dish, so to speak, that gets my mouth wet for other factions AND maybe a welcome distraction, when I don't feel painting the Xteenth Gremlin (sometimes a new skin color is all it takes ;), but I want my Gremlins to be coherrent in that :D) So that is why I'm imposing the 1 Master 50 SS Crew on me :).
  24. To add what I already know by reading PMF and some observations: a] Jack Daw is good with tormented. That becomes quite obvious, so I guess his Guilty are nice, but I guess a Drowned and a Nurse won't hurt. I also would love to add Killjoy, as a second threat, so my opponent might think twice about killing one of my crew. Maybe even put in a Nurse for good measure, because I can. b] Lynch I already have got some Intel: Beckoners; Illuminated and Terror Tots for scheme running. Though it would be nice to have a somewhat complete list :3
