  1. If Mad Dog with two Scavengers kill half the enemy crew turn 1, your opponent has messed up big time.

Mad Dog is scary against armor or tight groups, but 1v1 his damage output is nothing special for his cost, he's not particularly durable, and he needs support throughout the entire game to stay dangerous, both to avoid getting engaged and to get fast every turn.

Well someone has to go to Neverborn, right? It's either Kastore, who is still a nephilim despite his questionable diet and quibbles with the current Neverborn roster, or Tiri (who is technically a Fae I think?), who seems too... IDK, fashionable? to be in Nvb, she dresses too human-y for them I think.

I'm betting on Kastore, even though he seems like he really hates Nekima and Titania, soo... dual faction ressers-nvb.

Kastore hating Titania and Nekima does not prevent him from being Neverborn. After all, Zoraida is their enemy too, but she's still Neverborn. Dreamer and presumably Pandora are also opposed to them.

  3. I agree with Azahul. Bishop is a very versatile model that can easily switch between roles mid game. While 0" engagement is never good, he has enough ways to mitigate the problems it causes. His only problem is his lack of durability. In my experience he always does well if he doesn't die, but not dying can be very difficult for him.

  4. Scavengers now hand out focus as a bonus instead of a regular action, which frees their actions up to do other things, they can move models with knock aside and they're one of only two non-master models in the faction that can remove any kind of marker. They're still absolutely great in keyword and not bad outside of it.

One necropunk is still a good scheme runner well worth 5 stones, though more than one would probably be hard to justify without the insane card draw of Transmortis.

  5. Technically you can heal more with Servant than with Touch, but it's hard to pull off. Over all, Servant is good but not amazing.

Wanted Criminal is good on a few models, but it is much more situational than most upgrades in the game.

I can think of exactly one model that can make good use Soldier for Hire and that one requires using Barbaros as a leader.

  6. I disagree about Taelor needing a buff. She has consistently pulled her weight when I've used her.

Mad Dog is a good model that counters both armor and destructible terrain, but he's also expensive and needs support to function, both to gain fast and to get out of engagement. Overall, I don't think he needs a nerf, though that doesn't mean he won't get it.

Capping bleeding disease at 5 is unlikely and also of very little impact. Changing it would require changing three different models at once and it rarely does more than 5 damage anyway since once a model has 5 blighted it has most likely already lost a good chunk of its health.

I hear a lot about the Schill/Yannic combo. It may be worth a nerf though I doubt it'll happen this time since Yannic is still rather new. Personally I haven't gotten the combo to work very well.

For buffs, Hans and Winged Plague are probably the most deserving. Buffing Bishop is risky because he's currently very good if he can stay alive. Even though his lack of survivability often makes him a subpar choice now, buffing him could easily make him too good. Convict Gunslingers are similar but to a lesser degree, giving them a slight defensive buff might make them viable.

Soldier for Hire definitely needs a fix. The soulstone generation is irrelevant in at least 99% of the games and there is no longer any model that can take it that will pay 2 stones for Hard to Kill. The card draw is nice but we lack minions killy enough to take advantage of it. Maybe Wokou Raiders or Convict Gunslingers (if buffed), but those make better use of Wanted Criminal. I imagine it's great on Mature Nephilim though.

  7. With the Viks I usually give her fast before she activates turn 1. What she does then varies a lot, often dependent on what the enemy does. Sometimes it's move, focus, drop a scheme for fast next turn. Sometimes she charges in turn 1. Occasionally she uses bring it to get models in range of the Viks.

  8. I almost always hire student of conflict with the Viks and I'd probably still do it without Taelor. Though Taelor really benefits from fast.

I mentioned Chompy specifically because I often hire Taelor ook against Dreamer because of ruthless, and it often ends with her killing him through from the heavens. There are probably other soulstone users it would work just as well against, it has just happened more with Chompy.

  9. I've probably said it before, but I don't feel like Taelor nees anything more. Her attack is one of the best non-master attacks in the game, she's fast, she has shrug off so she doesn't get shut down by slow or stunned and the combination of a 2" range and battle tempo can be brutal against 1" melee models.

  10. I love the Wokou Raiders with Parker1. While stat 5 is not great, plus flips means the enemy is more likely to cheat first and Life of Crime means the enemy will have to cheat often to avoid being hit. I'm not sure about them in Parker2 though since he doesn't but out nearly as many scheme markers, making Life of Crime harder to use, and his rifle doesn't ignore friendly fire. They do love Pearl for the extra movement she gives them.

  11. sI don't think Midnight Stalker and Big Jake are in any way meant for the same situation. While pre-errata Midnight Stalker and post-errata Big Jake have similar tricks for surviving, albeit better in the case of Midnight Stalker, what they want to do is pretty different. Midnight Stalker's worth came from his insane mobility coupled and the occasional 3 attacks. Big Jake's worth comes from Don't Mind Me. While Big Jake isn't the slowest model it will take much longer to reach the places you wanted Midnight Stalker to interact in.
