Just started getting in to Malifaux and I've been torn between Ressers and Outcasts, but the new Jack Daw box was so hype I've decided to start there. The next thing I was thinking was what bases I wanted to use for the crew. I'm a decently experienced painter/modeller, but I was short of inspiration for this particular crew's bases. I was thinking flagstone type bases for the Guilty to simulate the dungeon floor of wherever they're being executed and maybe wooden planks for Montresor and Jack to suggest the platform of a gallows, but I'm sure there's a cooler idea and I was wondering if anyone had suggestions. I also don't have the books yet and was wondering if there was some fluff about Jack that might suggest an appropriate base theme for the crew. Thanks for the suggestions and happy painting!

Hey, I'm just starting out in Malifaux and I'm thinking about what crew to start with. I've narrowed down the factions I'm interested in to Outcasts (VS, Viktorias, and Tara) and Ressers (Nico and Tara). Nico is by far my favourite master, but the other Ressers aren't too interesting. My only concern is that I'll need a lot of models to make him work since he's a summoner. Is this impression correct? Would it be a bad idea to get into a faction when I only like one or two of the masters? Tara is pretty slick too, but I can't seem to find any pictures of the assembled non-Nightmare version of her online. I know the Nothing beast has fewer arms (boo!), but does anyone have a pic of Tara from the mass release box assembled? Cheers, Dannymac
